The espresso/expresso one kills me. There was a sign on the Starbucks drive-through this weekend that their second "expresso" bar was out of service. If you work there, you have to be able to spell it correctly. LOL!!

I can’t believe some of you have never heard “jalopy”! I am with flamingo in my distaste for anything Rachel Ray says. I think it’s her voice that bothers me most. Courtesy of vino I LOVE “nattering”, and have used it a few times with MH who then looks at me like I’m crazy!

I hate nag and nagging. And Old lady. A friend of A's always refers to me as his old lady. Um. No.

Hi! I'm at work feeling stuffy. My throat is better, but now I think I have a sinus infection. Probably going to our hospital's employee clinic first thing in the morning tomorrow before work. Speaking of illness, M2 had a double ear infection last week. This is his second- the first was only one ear. Our pedi said ear infections before six months is not normal and that he will likely need tubes. Anyone know what age do they start tubes? For some reason, I thought she meant we wouldn't wait long to get the referral, but after I thought about it, I'm not sure of the earliest he could get them. Boo, I'm sorry. Both my kids had several EIs before 6 months. Our doc says 3 in 6 months or 6 in 12 months get you a referral, they never mentioned age. N got hers Friday and the nurses said they do them on younger kids all the time. Exactly this. The criteria is the number of infections in a certain timeframe. Dude was 11 months when we got his. He really could have been younger because we had exceeded the number of infections required but our regular pedi was on mat leave during that time and I really had to fight them for our ENT referral.

I just realized there will likely be 35 people at my house for N's birthday party Sunday. Help! It's mostly family and then 3 friends she invited, plus our 2 friends and their LO. My brothers usually don't make it so I was surprised that they are coming which adds 8 people. I need to figure out food! And I'm probably going to regret trying to make the cake myself instead of ordering it.

I'm thinking sloppy joes that I can make ahead of time with crock pot mac and cheese. Chips, veggie tray, and fruit? I feel like I always do the same food every party, but I want things I can make and not worry about during the party.

That's what my dad calls my SM. And when she calls him he has her ringtone set to the theme song from Dragnet.

It I were to add anything, it would probably be just some kind of dip.

Re: Hubby is detestable. My last boss said it once and this was the context (talking about vaccinations):
"I decided against giving them to my kids because Hubby did a lot of research on the internet."
My hatred for her grew 10 times that day because it was the trifecta of all bad things: anti-vaxx because you've decided you're some expert after watching YouTube videos, use of the word hubby, and deferring to your husband who is far less qualified to make such a decision (she is a nurse and he is an engineer).

Something that’s easy and a crowd pleaser...dump frozen meatballs, a jar of apricot preserves and a jar of marinara sauce into a crockpot. So. Yummy. Y’all. I have a major fwp over here. I’m on the bus watching my show but my new phone only uses wireless ear buds. Since I don’t have any I need to plug in an adapter but now I can’t charge my phone. I can only do one or the other. This is a stupid problem to have.

I was going to suggest chili, guacamole, corn bread and chips. Maybe with some pigs in a blanket as well.

melaniesue, I know it's controversial, but I've done meatballs with the grape jelly/chili sauce combination and it really is delicious. You need a splitter for your phone. That way you can charge and do ear buds

Hi ladies. I'm not caught up yet. I visited my 91 yo grandma on Sunday. She told me that her gym just had a birthday celebration for one of their patrons who turned 100. She saw him working out and told him "that must get your heart pumping." He replied, "You standing next to me get my heart pumping." Lol. I told my grandma she's still got game.

I can turn this into a full thread if people are interested, but I need some help with beauty products -- specifically dry skin beauty products. This weather is killing me, and I need to find some kind of in shower body gel foaming moisturizing thing and something for my hair as well. I mostly use the products from my dermatologist, but even that's drying me out more than usual Does anybody have any recommendations?

"To die for" irks me too. I've also never liked "dh/ds/dd," but perhaps even more offensive than that I am guilty of calling my husband "hon" way more than I've called him by his name. I try not to do it in public, but it happens. My brother and husband have the same name and sometimes I call my husband "old man LN" when at my parents to avoid confusion. He's much older than me and sometimes so crotchety and he knows it so it's fitting.

“And whatnot” also annoys me. My cousin over uses it. I can’t have a single conversation where she doesn’t use it.

I went through a phase in college where I called everyone babe and it’s just stuck. 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️

It was either freeform or lifetime. I'm pretty sure it's freeform. Right now I'm all about the ones where the girl kisses some stranger in the elevator. There are three of them. They're all wonderful.
