I'm going to.check this out We need to start getting j down to sleep awake. I'm already trying to put him down sooner after he falls asleep. We were holding him 20 minutes so he wouldn't wake up and we are down to 15 minutes. My hope.is to get it down to 10 minutes before going back to work. We want to transition to naps in the crib over Christmas break.

Ok ladies. What do you think is the best diaper for overnights? My kid wakes up to eat 2-3x still, eating 4-5oz at a time, do his diaper gets saturated and the front of his pjs is damp and smelly by the morning, if he hasn’t outright peed all over himself. So right now I HAVE to change it at least once overnight. I had huggies size 2 he kept peeing out of. So I got Costco size 3 and he hasn’t peed out of them but it’s inevitable- this morning his pj front by his crotch was damp and smelly and his front half of his diaper is so soaked, it’s ridiculous.
Luvs? Target? Pampers? (We used pampers until size 2 and I didn’t think they were particularly absorbent but I could be wrong.)
HALP! I am tired of waking him up to change a diaper. Sleep is precious enough as it is....

addymac j wakes and eats twice at night too. The only diaper he doesn't pee out of overnight are huggie snug n dry. They have extra absorption. He peed out of little smugglers but not snug n dry.

addymac I change R if I feed her at night. She’s in size 2 Target brand. We’ve used Target for at least three years. You’re giving him 8-15 ounces at night and he’s probably already got a wet diaper from when he originally went down. I don’t think you’re going to find a diaper that can handle all the pee.

king26 thanks! bsouls I do sometimes at the 2am feed but he screams and I hate waking DH up when he has to go work 16hours. I also try to put him in a new diaper right before putting him down for the night, but. Sigh. The other night I changed him at 2 with his feeding and then by 7am he had peed through the diaper! It was two feeds tho bc I change before the 2am feed. I’m just tired of doing so much laundry 😣

We put up our tree and it wasn't a disaster! We have an aluminum tree so you have to stick in every single branch. We put j on floor in front of it and he didn't make a peep the entire time! He just looked at us and the tree the while time. We didn't decorate it yet but I count that as a win!

Benji has 5 ounces and Evie has 4 with 6 feedings a day. They just bumped up to that after getting the okay to sleep as long as they want at night. ETA - totally daily volume is the same, we just dropped a feed. We also have capacity issues with Evie and her reflux so have to slowly work her up to more per bottle. That is so nice that they got the okay to sleep as long as they want at night now! I hope they - and you! - will get some awesome nights of sleep How much do they weight now? I ask cause for some reason I can't stop worrying about D and her weight and sleeping too long and feedings.... even though she's got the okay to STTN as well from the pedi last Wednesday. Still get caught hard at times when I think back to the weight scare we had ather 2mo appointment and I keep distrusting my milk supply even though we supplement some still (and she has fine daiper output).. I know my PPD/PPA is playing a part in this but it's hard to just ignore how i feel even when ratio is telling me different.. Benji is now 12 pounds and Evie is 10 lbs 10 ounces. They are gaining about a pound every two weeks. You could always follow up with a bottle if you think she is still hungry and not getting quite enough?

We went to the carousel museum to ride with Santa. T was scared of santa the first time, but then yelled “I’m over here, Santa” the second. R was not impressed.

So I tried j napping in the crib today because he had an hour long nap earlier. He lasted 28 minutes. I guess that's better then waking up immediately but it made for a grumpy afternoon. Also, I put j in his bouncy seat today and he almost didn't fit. I measured him and he has grown an inch in the past week! 3 no th growth spurt I guess?

They are gaining about a pound every two weeks. You could always follow up with a bottle if you think she is still hungry and not getting quite enough? When we realized my supply was severly lacking and she wasnt gaining weight we started supplementing with an extra 3oz bottle after each feeding. She luckily caught back up pretty quick and is just under 5kg now yay. I started working with a LC half november. We dropped a cple bottles as my supply picked up a little but we still supplement. She usually gets 2oz extra 2 to 3x a day and 3oz extra before bedtime. I pump at least twice a day as well but this is just enough for one maybe 2 bottles so we supplement with formula mostly. While supplementing may not be ideal (I dislike all the bottle and pump parts cleaning lol) tis fine. I just can't help but worry whether all is going well when she sleeps long stretches. She will easily go 8 hours. Now I will pick her up when she stirs in the am to change and feed her but I think she would probably sleep even longer if I'd let her. It just makes me feel uncomfortable and anxious but I don't really know or can't explain why 😕

So frustrated right now. DH put N down around 7:30 and we had no idea if it was going to be a nap or if he was going to go down for the night. Well he put him in his crib in his room and kid was outttt. Awesome. We had dinner and watched some tv and then went to bed around 10. I was nervous we wouldn’t hear him bc we still haven’t set up the monitor bc he never sleeps in his room but DH assured me I would hear him. Well I woke up to him crying so I had to wake DH up to go get him - it’s his night to take care of him and he doesn’t hear him ever - and kid was inconsolable by the time DH got to him. He fed him but kid screamed for a good 30+ minutes after the bottle. It woke me back up. Noah screams his head off these last couple days whenever DH holds him. Like kids voice is hoarse from screaming.
Well he finally calmed down but he is WIDE A FUCKING WAKE. like bright eyed blabbering away awake. DH lays him in the pnp next to me and I’m like wtf?! And he’s like well he’s happy and not sleepy. Uh, it’s midnight that’s NOT OKAY. Like wtf. And DH is mad at me that I want N to go to bed and mad that I don’t want him to just hang out. And he’s like well there’s nothing to do. Like maybe if you had gotten to him before he was inconsolable he wouldn’t have woken up so much!
I pick him up and feed him as soon as his eyes are open and hes whimpering to crying at night, feed him right away, and he always falls back asleep quickly. He never does this wide awake MOTN thing. This is going to throw off his entire sleep schedule and he’s going to be a disaster the rest of the week and I’m the one that has to deal with it bc DH works mon- sat. It’s just me every day except Sunday these two weeks and I’m fucking exhausted and he’s been sleeping so much better at night, I was really counting on continuing that so getting through the nap-less days wouldn’t be so tough.
And dH is mad that I’m awake and upset. And I know he’s feeling butthurt that N cries whenever he holds him lately- like seriously if I take N from him, he stops crying within 1-2minutes, but I can’t control what N does. and I told him I’d just take over and he refuses and says I need to sleep but, thanks, I’m wide a fucking wake now so what’s the point? And I heard him yell at N once- after 30 minutes of screaming. Which, I’ve yelled before too, but come on dude. 30 minutes is nothing compared to what I’ve had to deal with for the last week, let alone the last three months... ugh. 😣😒😔

Big hugs addymac that is frustrating. I hope N is back to sleep now. I hate when we put j down and don't know if it's a nap or bed. That sucks n was screaming and crying too. Can you set the monitor up today in case you need it? That way you can hear him quicker? I don't know how men sleep through the babies crying but they do.

Sorry addymac that's super frustrating. I've noticed the same thing with going back to sleep at night--if he cries longer then he wakes up more and everything is much more difficult. Here's to hoping that this will just be a blip and not throw off his sleep schedule. Does your dh try different techniques than you to calm N down. I ask bc particularly when baby h was younger, I could just hold him and he'd be happy but would scream for dh in that same position. However, if dh nestled him in his chest and walked him around, then he'd be great. I know you guys have probably tried everything but maybe a different soothing method from your dh could help. I am pissed bc I had agreed to make pulled pork for a church thing tomorrow and asked dh to wake me up if I fell asleep putting the three year old down so I could put it in on time. I vaguely remember him walking in once at 11ish but then I fell back sleep accidentally and didn't wake up till baby h got me at 3. And then it turns out my pork shoulder is 8 lbs, not 4 lbs. Damn it. I pre-seared it for 15 min and tried to cut it in half (the bone got in the way) so I'm hoping that cuts down the cooking time and I can shred after 6 hours on high, but I seriously doubt it. I may skip the service to give it an extra hour. I just don't understand why dh couldn't come in one more time to wake me. He knows I'm a deep sleeper and that I've been exhausted recently.

thinkchocolate05 oh no! That’s so frustrating! I’m Sorry. I hope it cooks in time. Idk exactly what he tries. I know he tries different things and he sometimes tries what works for me but idk what actually works for him and N bc he tells me to go away and let him do it and to go to sleep. So ok. Apparently he didn’t fall asleep until 1am. And then woke up at 3. I just got up and took him from DH at 3 bc I knew DH would be so pissy all day if he had to keep getting up and I just didn’t want to deal with it. So much for getting a night to sleep....

thinkchocolate05 that stinks but 6 hours on high should work. It may be a little tough but doable.

thinkchocolate05 that stinks but 6 hours on high should work. It may be a little tough but doable. You are right. So I realized that it was bone-in and the bone was ginormous. It was actually less meat than when I get the 4 lb boneless. Everyone liked it alot. And funny story, dh told me he actually tried to wake me up 3 times. This is why I can't co-sleep until the baby is older!! And yay on the great sleep.
