Even tho we don't have the Thanksgiving tradition here lots of stores are adapting the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales, so weird but smart from the commercial point of view of course! I notices Vistaprint had 60% off so I am going to get some new address labels to include Daphne😀

I ordered some stuff from Target around 5am. Not sure if I’ll buy anything else today. I still need to shop for my ILs and DH.
DD is back to waking a couple times a night. Boo. I was going to move her to her crib/nursery but that was bc she was sleeping almost all night. DH really wants her moved but he’s not the one waking up to feed her, sooo 🤷🏻♀️

muscari I got new labels from shutterfly to include j a few weeks ago. pennylane I'm sorry lo is waking up multiple times a night. How can I go to bed at 830 and get up at 7 and only have 6 or 6.5 hours of sleep? This is getting old. J didn't sleep well last night. I worried because he only had 4 naps instead if 5. He was only up twice but the first time was at 11 and then when he got up at 2 he was up for almost an hour. He did not want to go back to sleep. I don't think I'm shopping today. When I look at the sales they aren't that goid. Plus I'm done with everyone but DH and he won't tell me what he wants. I need to get wrapping presents this week. I also need to find cheap little time to put my homemade rubs and taco seasonings in for gifts. Anyone know where to find those?

Just finished Ds first morning nursing session and laid her back down for another hr of sleep. She usually fusses and babbles a bit before falling asleep again tho lately had stayed awake more often as well. The bassinet had gone quiet again so I think I am lucky today amd am getting a bit more snooze too. What time do your babies wake up usually and how long are they up for before taking their first nap? J gets up around 7 give or take an hour. He is usually up for an hour and a half to 2 hours before his first nap. He can't go longer then 2 hours of being up or he's a bear. As soon as he yawns or rubs his eyes we start to put him down. I've started paying real close attention to D yawning as well so I can put her down for a nap in time so she won't fight it. It's been getting a bit easier.. or so it seems. She may fuss or babble for a while but usually falls asleep on her own. It's more difficult when MH is home for some reason.. for one I guess there's just more to see/hear for D. and I also think MH tends to keep her up a bit too long at times. He misses her much during the days he's working and wants to cuddle and play with her when he's home. Understandable but also annoying in a way LOL. I think I have a pretty good feel of when she needs to go down for a nap now.. What time does J. go down for the night usually?

I was wondering how the 4 month sleep regression would effect us since A never *progressed*. Apparently it’s just him not sleeping. At all. He’s up for hours now. He gets up 5+ times a night, but it usually doesn’t take me longer than 20 mins to get him back down. Now, it can take up to 3 hours. 3 HOURS YALL! I’m dying. Literally.
I’m researching cosleeping stuff. Like the dockatot. I know that no co sleeping is considered safe, but I’m at my wits end here. And it seems a dockatot is safer than having him sleep one with the brestfriend pillow. Even though I’m still only doing that for an hour or so in the morning. Ugh. I just don’t know what to do.

muscari, I have the worst sleeper so my answers probably don’t mean much at all. But we start the bedtime routine around 6:30 and he’s usually asleep by 7:30. Up for the day at 7am. Sometimes I think to get him to sleep later, but he shows all of the signs of wanting to sleep at that time. And up until a few weeks ago, would have his longest stretch of sleep. 4 hours. I miss that 4 hours more than anything.

muscari, she is falling asleep earlier than she was. It used to be like 11:00 but now more like 9:00. This still consists of falling asleep on the boob with me on the couch so not ideal. @easilyunamused, I’m so sorry, that sounds awful. I️ usually end up cosleeping early morning after her wake up but I’m a super light sleeper but realize it’s still not the best. I️ hope something changes for you soon, big hugs

I also sleep light in the mornings but I know it's not the best situation.

Although I️ know there are horror stories about cosleeping, there are ways to make it much safer. I️ coslept with DD1 for many months. I️ would not have survived if I️ didn’t lol

He can't be awake more than 2 hours or it's disastrous . Also, what do you do with her while she is awake for that long? I have a hard enough time entertaining j in between his naps

Well she used to nap every couple hours in the swing but now I️ think it’s too stimulating out here with the toddler. She falls asleep on me but won’t stay asleep when I️ put her down. I mentioned about the constant BF in the infant check in so there is a lot of that. This is why we go out most of the time, being cooped up with a non napping baby is rough.

His naps are hit or miss, but if we are home he only naps on me. I tried unsuccessfully 3 times to get him to nap in his bassinet yesterday. So though he may be sleeping, I’m stuck under him. It’s ridiculous.

I think our evening/night time routine sucks and needs revising.. D. gets too tired I feel. She actually goes down for the night pretty easy once I nurse her and give her her bottle (still supplementing) and sleeps 7 sometimes eben 8 hours. but she cries when she has to burp during the last feesing and is generally fussier that last hour orso. Fussier then I think maybe she has to be...? I absolutely LOVE my 7h nights (I feel bad writing this here knowing so many of you haven't had those in forever) feel that maybe it is better for D if she goes to bed a little earlier then has one MOTN (or late night) feeding. I dunno.. it seems most your babies go down for the night so much earlier then D does!? She used to clusterfeed between 8 and 12 which made an earlier bedtime impossible but hasnt really done so in a while so ... yeah.

muscari I let R do her thing. She went to bed tonight a little before 6pm. And, I’ll let her go until she wakes up. Last night that was 2am, the night before 4am. I found that even when I woke her up before I went to bed to eat that she’d still wake between 2-4am. If I let her sleep on my chest she’ll usually go until I feed her at 7am. So, I’m pretty sure if she can go 14 hours without eating that it’s just her natural clock waking her in the early AM hours.

We had R’s follow up appointment from the NICU at the developmental center. She’s 24.8” long and weighs 15 pounds 10 ounces. Her development is right on point with her age.
They did notice a mild flatness on the left side of her head due to mild left head preference. We are supposed to just encourage right side activity and monitor it ourselves. The PT said it was slight that she’d wonder if her head was born that way. But, R definitely does prefer sleeping with her head facing left and she’s trying to roll over on the left.

Both my kids went on sleep strike today. Anyone else have a 4 month old who will only take 30 min naps? We went from at least 2 long naps and a few short ones to 6 plus short ones. It is killing me especially because DD is waking up 2 times a night again. I am with her and my H takes care of Js night time feedings because my daughter--i kid you not--uses my hair as her comfort animal. She has to grab my hair to fall back asleep. Wtf!!!

@easilyunamused, we have a co-sleeper that is similar to a dock a tot but less $$ because my cousin gave it to us after her baby outgrew it. It has been a life saver for me because it improved M's sleep so much. I know it is not considered safe but I honestly always felt she was safe in there. I only use it when MH is working and I'm solo at night because I know I am a very light sleeper. I also take everything else off the bed except the one pillow I'm using. It's the only way I survived the first three months because she was an awful sleeper. She's been sleeping so much better and now we're transitioning her to the pnp since it's more similar to her crib (and we hope to transition to the crib in a couple months).

Ds1 would wake up 4 to 5x a month at this age, and it was awful. We started cosleeping around 1 bc then I felt like it was safe, and even then he didn't sttn until closer to 2. We just moved him to a big boy bed at 3 yrs old, and recently he's been waking around 3:30 and wanting to be held back to sleep for 30 minutes. Not trying to be discouraging but I think some kids just have trouble sleeping. Without the cosleeping at 1 year old, we were just unreasonably sleep deprived.

Baby H rolled belly to back last night! So cute. I frantically googled if we have to give up the swaddle but it said not until he rolls the other way, and he's not even close.
