Unless his attorney is a complete fucking moron, he didn't write that tweet, no matter what the WH says. With 45, though, it is always someone else's fault. Maybe this attorney will fall on the sword and use it as a way to get away. They are so dumb. I never thought he would go down for collusion, but obstruction of justice is looking more and more likely. |

He’s tweeting this morning that he never told Comey to stop investigating. Which gets me to thinking: all Mueller really has to do is interview him, right? He won’t be able to not lie to the FBI. Is there any way his lawyers can refuse for him to be interviewed? Can you take the 5th during interviews? I'm pretty sure you're never compelled to speak? People invoke the 5th during congressional hearings, not just in court. I also don't think the FBI can require any interaction outside of a criminal charge. ? |

I mean, after a certain point, do you really need his testimony to prove that's what he was doing when you have multiple witnesses all attesting to the same thing? From everything I've read, the problem is with" proving" the perpetrator's state of mind. When bringing obstruction charges, prosecutors need to prove that the accused truly intended to, in this case, impede or shut down the investigation for corrupt cause. WITH THAT SAID, the House COULD absolutely bring impeachment proceedings based on the perception of obstruction. Legal proceedings =/= political proceedings |
