Symptoms/rants/raves:
Dealing with strep for the third time in 9 weeks. Thankfully now that I officially got diagnosed, I can be on drugs again, I already feel a bit of energy coming back.
Otherwise the pregnancy itself is still feeling as good as I could hope for 32 weeks and 2 little kiddos at home. Super active baby, H thinks it's the one he's been able to feel and see the most.


Appointments or Milestones?
32 week checkup was yesterday. Uterus 31cm (which has been a new one for me this pregnancy, my other two kids consistently measured ahead! This one has been about a week "behind" the last two checkups!). Took Strep B test, will have to retake at 37 weeks if still pregnant. Dr was happy with everything minus the recurring strep throat, heartbeat was loud and strong as soon as she set the Doppler on, I think it even surprised her a little haha!

GTKY: What is your favourite holiday to celebrate?
Gotta go Christmas. It was always my favourite pre kids and now it's a different kind of happy with them. My birthday is a week before so I've always had an extra reason for excitement growing up, and now we use that day to just enjoy some Christmas stuff as a little family before the rush of all the big things start. I just love the food, picking out gifts for everyone, the gatherings, all the lights in the snow and Christmas trees everywhere.

Appointments or Milestones? I'm in the waiting room to see a Maternal Fetal Specialist to have my first gestational diabetes consult.

Symptoms: I’m really uncomfortable. I have acid reflux for the first time so that’s been fun. And baby feels super low recently which is uncomfortable

Milestones: OB Appt tomorrow and only 2 more appointments after that!

GTKY: favorite holiday? Definitely Christmas. I’m excited that DD kind of gets it this year and I love how magical everything seems to be for her. We went on the polar express train in the mountains last night and she couldn’t stop talking about Santa afterward. It was adorable

GTKY: What is your favourite holiday to celebrate? Leaning towards Christmas but honestly since having Declan I love celebrating alllll of the holidays with him and making them special

Symptoms/rants/raves: I don’t sleep anymore lol. Also body hurts by the end of the day. I’ve gotten back into workouts daily so that’s been helping!

Appointments or Milestones? So I was supposed to have one yesterday but my doctors schedule got messed up so we had to cancel that one & reschedule. Of course December got crazy busy so I’m not going back until 35w. Then my next one will be 37. So I’m a little “off” the normal schedule but it’s ok with me. Hopefully that 37w one will be my last, DD came at 38.5 so I’m hoping for 37-38w for this one. It works better for my work schedule too (I know that sounds bad haha).

Extremely sore and tired. But compression stockings are helping with dizziness which is great!

Appointments or Milestones?
Appointment on Thursday. Should find out then when my ultrasound will be to check the baby's stomach again.

GTKY: What is your favourite holiday to celebrate?
I LOVE Christmas. I pulled out my nutcrackers last weekend and I'll probably have my husband put up the outdoor lights on Sunday. I can't wait!

Nausea came back these past few days. WTF? And while mornings I'm still mostly functional and move about normally, by the evening everything aches, and standing up or sitting down is a big unpleasant process.

Next appointment is tomorrow. I should find out the blood results and whether my platelet count was low again.

GTKY: Christmas! It's so much more fun now with a toddler. Last year (she was 16 months) we brought her downstairs and she squealed when she saw all the lights and presents, ran over and was so excited to open everything and show us. I think it'll be even better this year.

Can we talk about my swollen vag? It is so large. I swear everytime I wipe it feels bigger. I had some blood in my urine sample last week which my midwife said is likely just due to the pressure (same pressure causing the swelling). I got a maternity support belt and am trying to wear it to hopefully keep some of the pressure off. I've been stretching daily and its really helped my sciatic/tailbone pain.

Next appointment is 11/30.

GTKY: I love Christmas. I'm so excited for DD's reaction this year. She's into santa (although didn't want to sit on his lap tonight). I just want to do all the stereotypical things with her and I'm so excited she's old enough to enjoy it this year.

I am 33w today.
It’s a boy
Baby is the size of a cantaloupe or 16in and 4.25lbs
I am so uncomfortable and I am not sleeping well but that is to be expected. I am a little swollen but not so bad. I am just trying to manage my GD.
I have an appointment with the dietician today. Then I have an appointment with my OB on the 30th. After that appointment it is weekly because I am delivering in 5 weeks.
My favorite holiday is Halloween closely followed by Christmas.

Symptoms/rants/raves: my vagina. It’s so sore from the pressure. Also, I don’t sleep. And I woke up this morning starving. I was so excited to help myself to a big bowl of cereal and to have some peace before getting DD up for school. I opened the fridge to find NO MILK. I cried a little 😭 (early FFFC).

Appointments or Milestones? I had my follow up appt yesterday after checking sugar levels for 7 days and my OB said everything looked great! I go back in 4 weeks.

GTKY: What is your favourite holiday to celebrate? For sure it’s Christmas. I start listening to Christmas music the day after Halloween and Christmas movies are on daily starting in November. DD is so into it this year, which makes my heart so happy!

Symptoms/rants/raves: My. Back. Is. So. Sore. Like crazy. It’s killing me. Other than that some heartburn.

Appointments or Milestones? I had an appointment on Monday. Baby’s heads been down for about a month. I wonder if I’m going to make it to 39 weeks. Everything was normal at the appointment. I was up 2 pounds from 2 weeks ago for a total of 8. Can’t really complain about that!

GTKY: What is your favourite holiday to celebrate? Christmas for sure! I have so many wonderful memories or celebrating Christmas with family. It’s hard being in Florida so far away from everyone.

Symptoms/rants/raves: Reflux is a b----. Having a cold when KU sucks too. In other news, baby is moving a lot so that is reassuring. My Uggs are helping my overall body soreness. E is sleeping better (knock on wood) which helps a lot too. 

Appointments or Milestones? Just had an appt this morning. Baby's hb and my bp are good. Measuring just right. Got Rhogam and tDap so I am all set on injections. Now I'll start going every two weeks so the first full week in December I go to my local OB and then also MFM. I think they are going to want to start doing NSTs and more u/s too since I am elderly.

GTKY: What is your favourite holiday to celebrate?  Definitely Christmas. I love the decorations and the lights and the gifts and everything.

Symptoms/rants/raves: It is painful to stand/walk after sitting for awhile, and I don't remember that from the last time. My erythema nodosum (basically inflamed nodes on my leg) has been really bothering me too.

Appointments or Milestones? I have my regular midwife checkup on Monday, and then I'm sure we'll be discussing about weekly/bi-weekly appointments since I'm now in the 3rd tri. Last time I had to have regular NST monitoring because of my age (that's how I found out I was in labor!). Not looking forward to those boring appointments again. Have not done anything at all to prepare--I'm planning on doing that after the holidays (pick a name, get the newborn stuff out of the attic, get kiddo moved out of the nursery, etc). Really hoping baby stays in until at least February so I can get my maternity leave squared away.

Symptoms/rants/raves: my double vision is starting again. I had it at 36 weeks with my DD, tested negative for pre-e and went to an ophthalmologist and they chalked it up to be a weird pregnancy thing. It ended up getting slightly better by 38weeks and was pretty much completely resolved by the time I gave birth. And now it’s starting again 😩 it’s very slight right now but it’s noticable. My OB said she might want to refer me to a neurologist if it came back this pregnancy so I’ll have to put a call into her on Friday. She said its probably just some weird increase in ocular pressure. I’m hoping it’s just exasperated by my congestion from my awful cold I have. Otherwise I’ll have to come out of work and I won’t be able to drive if it gets worse. Gahhhh

Appointments or Milestones? Next apt is next week. Then I’ll have another ultrasound to check size of baby the apt after that since I’m measuring big again this time around.

GTKY: What is your favourite holiday to celebrate? Christmas!!! It has always been my favorite. I love everything about it.

I have to schedule a three hour, hopefully they can take me on a Saturday because I really can’t use my personal days.

Probably Christmas. I like the season, decorations, music, all of it!
