I don’t eat meat so I’m not sure I’d use one. I know they cook beans and lentils quickly. And eggs. But can you basically put any recipe that you’d use in a crockpot in the instapot and it takes less time? I think I read somewhere you can sauté veggies in there?
Share your love for the instapot so I can decide if I want one or not

I think the simple answer is. Yes, you need an instapot.
(says the lady who doesn't have one yet.)

You do. You can saute, bake, boil/poach eggs, make an incredibly flavorful soup in less than 30 minutes, make yogurt while you sleep... My other reasons why you need one are meat related, but I'll come up with more..

I can make super tender, buttery corn on the cob in 1 minute

The answer to this question will always be yes for me. Perfectly poached eggs, hard boiled eggs, all in one potato salad, quinoa, easy spaghetti squash, simple pasta dishes. I haven't even tried baking or yogurt ( Betweenthelines have you tried that yet?).

redandblue, I haven't, but there are a few over on GD that do make yogurt. One of the users is yogurt herself lol

So, I bought one but then decided I don't cook many things that are hard that I can't do in my crockpot now that I don't eat meat. So I sold it to @baconroo (I know that's wrong but I can't remember how to spell it lol)

Vegetarian over here too so I also felt like I didn't need one. Corn in under one minute? That's just sorcery! Maybe I do need one...

No. No .... because then I’d need one and I’m being a stubborn hold out.

I’m so easily swayed. I’m watching for a Black Friday sale.

I think I saw a 7 at for 39. For today only. I think it was walmart....kohls was 79. That’s an awesome price! I ended up getting the Duo (7-1) 8qt on Amazon for $82. I added the 4 year protection plan and other tax it was less than $100. H ended up up selling me, I was just planning to get the 6-1 6qt.

I’m trying to resist the urge to go into our amazon history to see if H got me one. I joined the instant pot fb group and I’m overwhelmed

jedi, Just saying, if it were me, and I kind of knew I was getting one........ I'd be checking that history, because $75 is a good price...... But I'm a bad influence.

@betweentheline IF he got it, he probably spent 64 or something. i feel like it was that price on friday on amazon. But he also mentioned possibly getting a smaller one. I mean I think he got it for me. I asked him yesterday "did amazon deliver a package" and he was all huffy saying "WHY?" and I said, "well wasn't isaacs new thermos coming?" and he's all like "oh yeah.. its in the counter"
