DS1 (6) is boring this week. Good boring.
QOTW: My grandma's rolls! The recipe has been passed down for I don't know how long, and I can make them, but they're never as good as Grandma's.

QOTW: My grandma's cranberry salad. It's not like that stuff that comes in a can (which I actually also really like) and I usually make it, but I'm the only here who eats it so I'll probably skip it this year. I miss her. My other grandma's stuffing is a tie for best, but she would never share her recipe and now I worry that she has forgotten it with her memory being so bad. She's not allowed to cook anymore, either. I'm really sorry.

J (4.5) is doing well. She got her flu shot yesterday and spiked a 102.7 fever at 11 p.m. last night. No clue if they're related, but her little brother ended up with a rash all over after his flu shot, too. Weird.
Otherwise J is fine. Nothing big to report this week.
QOTW: I love pumpkin pie. I usually make them from scratch - roast the pumpkin and all - and they're so good. I also LOOOOOVE my MIL's rolls. Bread. Just give me bread.

enchanted - I know the heartache of losing recipes/memories. I cooked with my grandmothers all the time. One kept all her recipes and cookbooks. My mom has them and we read them all the time for fun (#cookingnerds). When my other grandmother passed away, we thought a lot of her recipes were gone for good. She cooked from memory a lot. BUT we ended up finding some of them tucked away in other cookbooks and recipe folders. Don't lose hope... that stuffing recipe may be hidden somewhere in her things.
