Today the House Judiciary Committee will hold its customary oversight hearing on the Department of Justice, with the Attorney General testifying about Department processes and actions. Of course, nothing in this administration is normal and what would normally be a sleepy discussion of investigation prioritization will most likely be an absolute circus.
Expect to hear the words "Uranium One" come out of Republican mouths a lot today. Many of them are likely to demonstrate no interest in conducting their assigned oversight duties of the current DOJ, rather, they'll want to talk about what Hillary Clinton didn't do seven years ago.
House Democrats, on the other hand, are likely to be asking a lot of questions about why the Attorney General has such a fuzzy memory when it comes to meeting with Russians.
Here's the membership:
Chairman: Rep Bob Goodlatte, R-VA (*recently announced his retirement)
Ranking Member: Rep John Conyers, D-MI
Rep Jim Sensenbrenner, R-WI
Rep Lamar Smith, R-TX

Rep Trent Franks, R-AZ
Rep Louie Gohmert, R-TX

Lamar Smith and Trey Gowdy loathe Hillary Clinton so expect weapons-grade nonsense out of them. Karen Handel is brand brand new to the House of Representatives so she'll probably just quietly tow the party line and is unlikely to try to grab soundbites. Steve King is a Deplorable in every sense so spare yourself listening to him at all.
Ms. Jackson Lee doesn't much care for AG Sessions so she's going to do her job hardcore today. Prepare popcorn. Mr. Swalwell is a shining star on HPSCI and knows alllllll the dirt their investigation has on Sessions, so I expect he will do a great job holding Mr. Sessions' feet to the proverbial fire today. And Ted Lieu really just hates Trump and all of his Merry Men so his time should be pretty entertaining.
