How old is LO?
How's everything going?
Questions/concerns/cute stories to share?
0-1mo: Who is your biggest BF cheerleader?
1-3mo: Nursing in public: questions, experiences, anecdotes?
If you're pumping, how is that going? When are you returning to work, or are you SAH?
GTKY: if you had $20 you had to spend on yourself, what would you buy/do?

How old is LO? 6 weeks
How's everything going? Breastfeeding - great! Bottle feeding - not good. We had to introduce a bottle at 3 weeks when LO was hospitalized and it went great. We gave her one every other day and no problems. The last week she has outright refused and I’m already worried about what will happen when I go back in 6 weeks. DD1 took NO bottles from us pre-daycare and they magically got her to take 1 but i do not want to see if lightening strikes twice in cade and it’s stressing me out... we are currently working through the “tricks” but to no avail (daddy feeding, different bottles/nipples, milk temp, feeding positions, etc).
Questions/concerns/cute stories to share? Just working on bottle feeding - feeling frustrated because she had been taking one and I thought maybe we’d caught a break and could actually go in a longer-ish date soon but trying to relish the BF snuggles (no matter how constant) that I’m most certainly getting now...
1-3mo: Nursing in public: i try to avoid it if at all possible or will nurse in my car. I’m a school teacher in a small town and it just feels strange since I’m always running into parents/students when out.
If you're pumping, how is that going? When are you returning to work, or are you SAH? As long as I keep drinking water, my output is great! I can definitely tell when I don’t drink enough though!
GTKY: if you had $20 you had to spend on yourself, what would you buy/do? Caffeine (Dr. Pepper preferably but depending on how tired I am I get less picky!) - But in my non sleep-deprived baby state I’d probably get a book for my kindle off Amazon. I miss reading!

How old is LO? A month old yesterday!
How's everything going? Good. Still having some nipple discomfort but it seems better when I really cover them with nipple butter. I have really dry skin so I think that's contributing. His latch is decent 85% of the time.
Questions/concerns/cute stories to share? When is the best time of day for me to pump? I'd like to start introducing a bottle so dh can do a feeding lol.
0-1mo: Who is your biggest BF cheerleader? My mom. DH is eh.
1-3mo: Nursing in public: questions, experiences, anecdotes? I nursed in the car the other day, but I'm nervous about someone yelling at me in public, which I know is absurd but that's where I'm at. If baby is screaming and hungry, I will do it though.
If you're pumping, how is that going? When are you returning to work, or are you SAH?
GTKY: if you had $20 you had to spend on yourself, what would you buy/do? Get a kindle book or put the $20 in my wallet and forget about it ha ha.

How old is LO? 9 weeks!
How's everything going? better now since eliminating dairy.
Questions/concerns/cute stories to share? Just looking forward to eating butter again next year lol. Although the no dairy has forced me to make healthier choices - not stopping for fast food, avocado on sandwichs instead of cheese/mayo, etc.
1-3mo: Nursing in public: questions, experiences, anecdotes? Going well, I've been much more concerned about my gut hanging out than my boobs so I've been doing the nursing tank under a looser top thing and it's been working so far.
If you're pumping, how is that going? When are you returning to work, or are you SAH? pump is packed up for now, woohoo! The company I ordered it from sent me an order of replacement parts the other day though which is awesome and I didn't realise was also covered through insurance.
GTKY: if you had $20 you had to spend on yourself, what would you buy/do? probably put it towards a pedi.

9 weeks
Mostly good. She had her 2 month appointment today and is up to 10 lbs 5 oz.
I feel like a broken record here but her latch is still bad. She’s sooo gassy because she takes in so much air. She’s gaining ok and the pediatrician was very happy with everything but I expected this appointment to go ok. I keep worrying with her bad latch that she’s not going to drain the breast enough and my supply will decrease and when it comes time for the 4 month appointment she won’t be on track anymore. I feel like I need to just accept the cost of a LC and make the appointment, if for nothing else to relieve some of my anxiety.
1-3 month: I don’t have a problem nursing in public so I just do it. The only time I find a quiet hidden corner is when baby is too distracted by everything going on to nurse.
I SAH and have barely pumped. I’m just exhausted by the time both kids are asleep and have zero motivation to get up super early when I don’t necessarily need to. I should find time though so we can keep trying a bottle.
GTKY: I would buy clothes. I NEVER spend money on clothes for myself.

aves0708 are you in the US? Can you see if your insurance covers an LC? I don't remember exactly what it said, but our previous carrier had some sort of coverage for one. It only stuck out to me because I was excited for coverage in case I needed it. Lo and behold they liquidated and we switched carriers just in time for me to deliver 😩

Honestly I have not checked to see if my insurance covers it. I am planning on double checking but I’m expecting it does not.

aves0708 I have no idea where you’re at but as someone who lives in the absolute middle of no where with little resources for BF I thought I’d offer some thoughts - our L&D nurses/delivery ward are willing to help with BF long after we’re discharged. Could be my small town showing but they might be a resource - my best friend drove to another county to attend a weekly BF group that met at the hospital for weighted feeds and help with her latch. Maybe there’s something like that semi-nearish to you? - your pedi might have some contacts as well Has you LO been checked for lip and tongue ties? A couple google searches for my DD1 led me to a pediatric dentist specialist that specializes in ties and though it wasn’t local by any means it certainly was a help in our BF relationship. Not all ties are obvious at birth and lip ties are less known too.

How old is LO? 7 weeks, 3 days
How's everything going? Pretty good, I guess. LO still fusses off and on during feeds (breast and bottle when we've tried it). I think it is related to gas or needing to poop, but not entirely sure. It has improved a little each week, but we're still dealing with it.
Questions/concerns/cute stories to share? I really really hate to put this in writing for a few reasons, but LO is sleeping several hours at night. It isn't uncommon to get 6 hours, but he just went 8 hours. It is exciting but so weird (and a little concerning) as our first son woke so often until 18 months. He's a big baby, he was 12 lbs at 1 month and looks to be around 14 lbs now and outgrowing 3 month clothes. The last couple days his diapers are dry-ish MOTN, which seems so odd. He wets plenty during the day though. I'm worried some of this isn't normal and I'm worried about my supply with him going so long at night. When I pump to replace a feeding I'm still getting 7-8 ounces.
Should I be waking him by 6 hours or so? Also, he never fusses at that first MOTN feed after going several hours.
1-3mo: Nursing in public: questions, experiences, anecdotes? I haven't had to do it much but I'm much more comfortable the second time around.
If you're pumping, how is that going? When are you returning to work, or are you SAH? I go back to work 12/20. We've been trying to give one bottle a day. I have the spectra s2 and I like it so much more than the PISA I used last time. Baby fusses the same as he does at the breast so I guess it is going ok.
GTKY: if you had $20 you had to spend on yourself, what would you buy/do? Ice cream and chocolate? Or, most likely I'd stick it in my wallet and never spend it.

CoachTsWife ahhh I'm jealous of your sleep. Are you dealing with oversupply in general? Or just overnight now? I mean, I'd let him sleep, your supply should level out. And he's a big'un so.... ::shrug::

And he's a big'un so.... ::shrug:: Oversupply in general, I think. We give bottles in the evening and I'm getting 7-8 oz when I pump in the evenings. Have gotten as much as 10 oz. I hesitate mentioning the long sleeps. DS1 did not STTN until 18 months and it got hard hearing about good nights when I was so sleep deprived. Also the whole jinx myself thing. Thanks for your input chicken coop! ETA I had off and on issues pumping enough at work last time so I really do not want to do anything to affect my supply. Even if that means waking him at night....
