I've never had a grey in my hair.... But I do find random grey eyebrows. Weird
My dad is 75 and still mostly brunette. I'm praying for his genes.

No grey hairs here yet (but only 31, so who knows) but once I find them, I’ll will dye for sure. I’ve had my hair all kind of colours, blonde, fuchsia pink, black, deep purple, fireman red, ‘natural’ red. Ever since my hair’s back to it’s natural colour (10 years ago) I’m scared to do more than highlights... Also I can’t afford to go for touch ups every 4-6 weeks. ETA tgrimes you have my commiserations, I’d hate to find grey hairs!

Today confirmed that I have always known. I am not a DIYer. I can cook really well and I can decorate, but beyond that I am at a loss The painter was here to touch of something yesterday. He told me he could paint my kitchen in two weeks. I decided that I needed to paint the section of the kitchen that will be a chalkboard because it small and I thought it would be fun. So I base-coated it which led into a little bit of paint on adjoining wall which led into a little bit of paint on other adjoining wall. So now my kitchen is half painted; it's horrible looking, and I have no time to finish it. I am now writing texts to the painter begging him to come out sooner. Whoops!!

I'm sorry inthekitty . I hope the hearing loss stays as mild as possible. Obviously it's not your fault!! What are the next steps in testing? I also hope you and your H get come time to talk. The school nurse recommended I either contact her PCM because he might want to send her to ENT for rule outs or straight to audiology. She was really nice and considerate about asking if M has a doctor and access to care. I realize she's in a much better situation than a lot of kids and thankfully we have the ability to get her any help she needs. But it still feels shitty. Some of my worst memories are being made fun of for not being able to hear something and I get straight up anxious about situations where I'm worried I won't be able to hear something important. I didn't want my kids to have that experience. On the plus side, since they see me wearing hearing aids Maddie would probably think it's awesome to get some and pick out a cool color.
I'm going to send her PCM an e-mail now to confirm if he wants us to make an appointment with him first or just go straight to audiology (we have Kaiser so it's all in the same building).

You guys, color your hair! I'm 40 and haven't found a gray because I color regularly! Although I color it blonde, so the grays just blend in! This, but I've been every shade of brunette, auburn, and chunky highlighted blonde, since college.

inthekitty, my hair salon has a shampoo that you wash into your hair and it creates all different kinds of vibrant colors. And then it washes out over time. I can find out the name of it if you want.

@klongoria My Rheumatologist said there can be a lot of false positives with RA factor. I hope you don't have that or any AI issue and you see a good Rheumatologist and they'll get to the bottom of why you've not been feeling well. Yeah, I could really spiral on all the things it could possibly be, so I'm just trying to go in with the thought that it is possibly nothing. Just keep in mind your ANAs can be positive for many things and it doesn't necessarily mean anything. I hope you get conclusive answers, but I wish my Rheumatologist had told me about all the things that could have influenced my tests. I get why he had to act like I had those things even though the tests were nebulous but it would have been great to know. If you're not satisfied, push for a visit to a hematologist and/or Immunologist. That's the best thing that ever could have happened in my case.

Pete only has grey in his beard and a very full of hair. I think the Korean genes help in this department. His aunt and uncle are pushing 80 and they both look 20 years younger.

Aw, inthekitty. That's heartbreaking to think of kids being teased for such a thing. I hope it's minimal and stays that way.

inthekitty I'm sorry. Hope you can get her an appointment quickly and the loss is only minor. Just got home from T's 4 year old well visit. Both ears are still infected so she changed his meds and said to hold off on shots until his recheck in 2 weeks. He hasn't said a word about the ears since the night we got them checked.

This morning at school the infant teachers asked Atticus if he knew whether the baby is a boy or girl and he proudly announced, "We're getting a SISTER and her name is Persephone."
It was adorable.

I can find out the name of it if you want. Yes please. By "vibrant" do you still mean natural colors? Any clue how long it usually takes to wash out? I just want to check because right now I have 2 weekends a month with the military so anything "unnatural" is a big no go so I only have about 2 weeks in between to go crazy. I also don't want to go too wild with my civilian job, but I'm not sure if it's specifically prohibited here. The dress code is pretty loose.

Maybe I should start a charity like flamingo's friend. I finally dyed mine when the grey got really bad (dark hair here), but don't keep up with it like I should because it's just not in the budget.

Ugh. It feels very Mondayish to me. I got a call from M's school nurse that she failed 2 hearing tests. I'm spiraling and feeling guilty although I know it's stupid and there's nothing I could do to prevent it. It's not like I purposefully willed her to have hearing loss, but I'm cursing my shitty genetics. I hope her hearing loss stays minor and doesn't get as bad as mine. Also MH and I are having issues and I need to talk things out with him. There's literally almost no time for us to talk though. He's always gone in the evenings and by the time I get the kids to bed I'm worn out and just want to space off with a TV show. I'm sorry if it makes you feel any better, my coworkers daughter failed 2 school hearing tests and went to a specialist and passed.

inthekitty, you could try Overtone. It's a color infused conditioner.

No. My hairdresser told me it's greens and pinks and blues. ETA: I just called them, and the girl at the desk told me some information that didn't make a lot of sense. One of the brands is called Viral. I couldn't figure out if it enhances an unnatural color that's already in your hair or puts the unnatural color in your hair. Anyway. I hope it works for your girls. I think it would be a lot of fun!!

Okay. That sounds like a lot of fun for the girls. I'll ask them about it when it's closer to winter break time and I'm sure they'll want to do it. It sounds fun and funky. They have blonde hair so it should take the color pretty well.

Rainy day here, not good for an election day. I can't wait for the VA governor ads to stop, they are misery.
J keeps having accidents. He actually got in a little trouble yesterday bc he told his teacher it was funny that he had an accident and didn't tell her. She said she just had to walk away..
He also broke the toilet and I had to call maintenance this am. MH heard him look in the bathroom and say "dammit your poop stinks!". Not sure where he picked that up from😬😂.

inthekitty I hope her next test goes better. I'm glad that rationally you recognize that it's not your fault, but I understand spiraling about it. If she does have hearing issues, you will be her biggest advocate and truly empathetic if she does encounter issues with teasing or anxiety. Hopefully it doesn't happen but you will guide her through it.
