Welcome! Please come in and chat! How old is LO? How's everything going? Questions/concerns/cute stories to share? 0-1mo:How's your postpartum recovery going? 1-3mo:How do nights look at your house? If you're pumping, how is that going? When are you returning to work, or are you SAH? GTKY: what’s your favorite cold weather drink? Hi!! I hang out in August 17 and haven't been here before but thought I would drop in since I have a question. How old is LO? About 12 weeks How's everything going? Pretty good but worried about returning to work today. Questions/concerns/cute stories to share? Does anyone else have an issue with excessive lipase? I have noticed that if my milk goes beyond about 30 hrs even in the coolest part of the fridge, it takes on a horrible sour/bitter/metallic taste. After googling, I think it's excess lipase. I thawed some milk from 10/20 last night to taste test before sending to daycare and it was awful!!! I threw it out. I tried milk from 10/30, and it was fine. I think the difference is I froze the 10/30 milk directly after pumping, although I've heard the lipase can still activate even at freezing temps. Just any experience with this would be helpful for me to know. 1-3mo: How do nights look at your house? Baby H is down and swaddled around 8:30 to 9:30. Wakes around 3:30 on a good night, then 6:30, then 8. Feeding each time. I leave for work at 4:50 starting today 😭😭😭😭 so he'll be getting bottles from dh and daycare. If you're pumping, how is that going? When are you returning to work, or are you SAH? It's okay. I have history of low supply. We supplemented with formula initially and then for a few weeks, baby H still needed supplement from expressed milk, so I got stuck pumping after his first motn wake up. I don't know how to drop that pump session, but I get up for work at 4ish anyway, so I think I'll just keep it. I wake up at 3:30 or so on my own bc my boobs are engorged and hurt. Sorry I'm so long winded!!

How old is LO? 8w 6d
How's everything going? Great. We had a weigh in yesterday at her 2 month checkup and she is gaining great. She is very long and is up almost 3 lb from her birthweight.
Questions/concerns/cute stories to share? She is just so precious. She has been cooing a lot lately with lots of smiles too. I have noticed some numbness in my right arm/hand, which I am guessing is from keeping one position for a long time, plus the weight of the baby. I also am getting lots of back pain and neck/shoulder pain. Does anyone recommend anything to help with that? I use a boppy to help with positioning right now. After my second baby I had to get a cortisone shot my shoulder was so. As.
0-1mo: How's your postpartum recovery going?
1-3mo: How do nights look at your house? Not bad- I bet ip once to feed and pump.
If you're pumping, how is that going? When are you returning to work, or are you SAH? Going well. It's been a lot easier this time around, mostly because DD3 isn't up all hours of the night, which allows me to pump when I need to.
GTKY: what’s your favorite cold weather drink? I'm a big coffee person. I like fresh brewed coffee with just half and half and a Splenda. I grind my beans fresh before brewing. Love it.
I also like the Starbucks holiday flat white- it's made with whole milk and an extra shot and some mildly sweet holiday spices. I don't like drinking super sweet things and this hits the spot.

How old is LO? 5 weeks!!!
How's everything going? Good. She’s all but stopped nursing the left side so I’m trying to make sure to pump it after feedings. It’s not always possible when we’re out and about but it seems like we’re making it work.
Questions/concerns/cute stories to share? when does supply regulate? The last two nights DD2 has slept for 7 hour stretches, which thrills me but also worries me about me supply. This could be a total fluke and the second it gets posted we will have no more long stretches of sleep but *if* it continues should I wake to feed or do dreamfeeds or let her sleep or ....? Just want to make sure when going back to work that my supply is no effected.
1-3mo: How do nights look at your house? the last two nights great!!! But I’m not holding my breath it continues sonusually it’s a screaming/witching hour until 11 or so and then she’s out for a couple hours, nurses, sleep again, and repeat. It’s managable right jorbvecause I’m just hanging out at home with her. Not sure what we’ll do if this continues through to the end of my maternity leave...
If you're pumping, how is that going? When are you returning to work, or are you SAH? today was a low output day but yesterday was high so I’m trying to roll with it. I’ll head back January 8th so I’d like a decent freezer stash to help out in case my supply output doesn’t equal her needs.
GTKY: what’s your favorite cold weather drink? I’m not a fan of any hot beverages but will drink some cold apple cider from my in-laws farm if available.

How old is LO? 6 weeks
How's everything going? Ok. Still fussing a lot during feeds. I don't think he ever drains my breast unless I've recently pumped. He pops on and off so much, I know he's getting air which means gas, but he just won't stay latched. He has a good latch when he wants to seriously eat. Sometimes he'd go 4 hours during the day if I let him, should I let him?
Questions/concerns/cute stories to share? 1-3mo: How do nights look at your house? He wakes every 3 hours to eat, I get a random 4 hour stretch a couple times a week. Some nights seem smoother than others, regarding how fussy he is during the feed.
If you're pumping, how is that going? When are you returning to work, or are you SAH? We've introduced bottles to get ready for daycare in 6 weeks. If I pump 8 oz to replace a feed, do I have oversupply? He's taking 4 oz bottles. He fusses during bottle feeds, too.
GTKY: what’s your favorite cold weather drink? Not a coffee drinker, but I like hot chocolate. Starbucks salted caramel hot chocolate is good.

CoachTsWife have you tried laid back nursing? Someone recommend it to me here and it helped. This way, the baby has more control of the pace of the feeding and won't swallow as much air. I think my let down was too fast for her, especially the first month or so. The past few weeks she has been better, but I think my supply regulated more and I am less engorged. Like your LO, she was having similar problems with both breast and bottle.

Thanks for the response! He took it this week, so I'm less worried now. There was one 2oz bag from the beginning of October that I threw out bc it tasted awful but he took the rest.

CoachTsWife yes 8oz pumped is oversupply. It’ll hopefully calm down within the next month or so as your supply regulates. At this age, barring other advice from your pedi/IBCLC, nursing on demand is advised. So yeah if you want to let baby sleep, that’s fine. That said, some women don’t allow longer stretches during the day to encourage longer stretches at night - the actual nighttime results are, of course, hit or miss. danvers re: sleep, it’s up to you. A dream feed is usually to encourage longer sleep, but you’re already getting 7 hours so you’ve already got longer sleep. You can consider pumping before you go to bed if you’re worried, but your supply will likely be fine. There will be more demand during the day to make up for it. And if you feel like there’s a big drop, just add in that dreamfeed or pump session. Supply can regulate as early as 6 weeks. thinkchocolate05 hope you’re adjusting to being back at work!
