After being in a funk yesterday I actually put on makeup and left the house today, which was nice. DS and I went to Walmart and out to lunch.

I was supposed to go out shopping with my BFF today, but we're both pretty discombobulated from the time change so we decided to put it off for another day. Watching Stranger Things instead.

We went out to dinner with my mom, sister & sister's boyfriend for my sister's birthday last night. My grams kept the kids for a sleepover and we went to pick them up around 8 this morning. Then, we went to Target for the release of Hearth & Hand before grocery shopping. Now H is helping BIL put up a car port and A is still napping. I've been curled up in the corner of the couch for like two hours watching Will & Grace.

I finally took a shower! I'm embarrassed to admit how long it's been. In a few minutes some friends are coming over to play board games, so that should be fun. I think we will just tell them I'm KTFU. I'm terrible at hiding it these days, even though we mostly want to wait a bit longer.

I’m at sonic waiting on my route 44 Powerade slush. So thirsty.
About to go to Aldi’s for the first time.
What are you guys eating for supper? How are you meal planning? I tried last week and had no desire to eat 80% of what I planned.

shortskirtlongjacket I fricken love Aldi. It’s quiet (no music), small and there’s only 1 or 2 brands of stuff to choose from. It makes food shopping so fast. And cheap! I told my boss today. I couldn’t find anything casual that hid the bump so I just wore my clothes and turned up at her house and said ‘um... surprise!’ She says she had no idea except my secretary had asked her a few weeks ago if I was pregnant. I bet the rest of the team knows and my boss is just too nice to say.

shortskirtlongjacket, I'm making some beef masala for supper tonight. With having to pay for our car ($1200, eek!) I asked my BFF if she could spare any food. They get a food delivery and usually have tons leftover by the time they get a new delivery, so I've just been making meals with what she brought over. So far I've made spaghetti and sheperd's pie. Tomorrow I'm going to make some beef and barley stew. Haven't really thought much beyond that but I do still have quite a bit of ground beef.

I’m at a point where nothing sounds good. I want zero involvement in the cooking of anything. I’m going to have to revisit my crockpot recipes. Or just eat cereal and fruit. H can fend for himself. DS will happily eat cereal and fruit with me.

shortskirtlongjacket, meal planning isn't going well over here either. I've kind of given up and am just getting essentials. Last week we had pasta with homemade sauce, Chinese, individual meals from the grocery store and then ate leftovers the rest of the week. This week we get a delivery box and I picked up a chicken pot pie from the store. Next week H is gone for work so I'm anticipating ordering whatever I want, going out, or eating pasta and mashed potatoes. I also keep a supply of Bertolli meals, pizza, and other fast easy things for H to make when I feel gross. I have some freezer meals I made this summer still so I might do one in the crockpot tomorrow. ETA this is also causing problems for lunch for me since I usually take leftovers. I ate out every day last week. Chances are I'll eat out at least twice this week too.

I am afraid if I get it again I will be too tired to make it and it would go to waste.

shortskirtlongjacket, we're getting Gobble. Everything is supposed to take minimal time to make (15-30 minutes). We got it once before and it was faster than other boxes.

I'm pretty lucky that my doctor wrote me a prescription for anti nausea pills the day before it hit me big time, so I've just been popping those babies so far. We definitely were doing a lot of convenience food from the ready made section of the grocery store before we realized how much we were going to have to pay for the car (it needs a new engine. Yup, my luck). So now I've just been falling back on old favorites. I do a lot of curries usually, because my aunt is from Trinidad and she taught me how to do it when I was very young =)

Speedy, I looooove curries! We've had pizza twice this week, I think, so I'm right there with y'all. We just moved into our new house yesterday and it's still soo dusty. My parents were over to help with getting fans and blinds up today, but we only managed to get up half of them since we only have 1 power screwdriver. Still no mirrors up, yet, and I took a shower with no shower curtain yesterday which was a weird feeling.

sammichcat did you build? We’re building a house at the moment and I can’t wait for it to be done. It’s dragging so bad and we rented a small house so I’m feeling claustrophobic! Supposed to be done in February...

All in all, first tri is kicking my ass I don't remember being this tired the first time but I guess I wasn't chasing a toddler either. I'm unbelievably wiped out.

I tried last week and had no desire to eat 80% of what I planned. I planned 4 meals for the week, hopefully at least some days they will work for me. And it’s suuuuuper easy stuff. Like a meal MH can make, frozen veggie burgers and sweet potato fries, etc. since I can’t really cook still. Dumping stuff in the microwave or the oven is my limit. Then we will do takeout or something the other days. It’s definitely not ideal but hopefully is only temporary. MH was like, ohhhh it’s cold now. We can have soup. I just looked at him and said only if you’re coming home early to make it... maybe in a few weeks.

My meal plans are basically spaghetti and anything frozen. I just don't have it in me to cook when I get home lately. Hopefully second tri will be kinder.

I'm in the same boat with meal planning. I never end up wanting to eat what I bought and planned on cooking. It's just been me and DS, so we've been getting by on mac and cheese and the like. My H should be home in about two weeks, so then I'll pass the torch to him.

shortskirtlongjacket meal planning is so hard right now because food is such a nausea trigger. I’m doing a lot of simple stuff- tacos, chili, spaghetti, hamburgers, salad with grilled chicken, breakfast for supper. And I’ve got frozen meals as backup- stouffers, bertolli, etc. Nausea is worst in the morning so crock pot is failing me. Though unisom + B6 is doing wonders for my nausea. I’m so so glad I tried it.

I have given up meal planning of any kind. DH has taken over because I just end up with a bowl of cereal for dinner. Yesterday he smoked a chicken and the smell in my whole house made me miserable. I've been having PBJ on an english muffin for lunch so that doesn't take a whole lot of planning either.

Supposed to be done in February... No, but it was basically a rehab project so we had to wait several months to move in while the demo and construction happened. We got lucky, I know construction work can take forever. My sister is doing a larger rehab project and she's been at it for six months now. She's dying to move in. ETA: While we were waiting we were staying at my dad's, who has a big house, but is way the eff away from everything, so we were so ready to move!
