We’re trying to pick a name for girl #4. We’ve essentially narrowed it down to two first names, Gemma or Arden. I’d really like to use Rae as the middle name to give a nod to my mom, I know it would absolutely make her day if we did. But I can’t say that I’m in love with Gemma Rae or Arden Rae. So two questions for you...
Do you prefer Gemma Rae or Arden Rae?
Do you have any suggestions of more first names to go with Rae?
Sisters are Ry.ann Eliz.abeth, El.sie Jo.ann, Th.ea Lorr.aine. DH has already shot down a slew of names (Juliet, Clara, Amelia, Genevieve, Josephine, Felicity, Gwendolyn...). I’d definitely like to be out of the top 50. DH doesn’t like anything ‘weird’ but at this point I’m not sure what his definition of weird is.
I promise this is the last time I’ll bug you guys about our names. I’m so dang indecisive.

I really like both Gemma and Arden, and I think they both sound fine with Rae. I think I might like Arden a bit more. However, I feel like I like Gemma better in your sibset.

So this is just me, but DH, DD and I all have names that start with a consonant so baby is going to have a consonant name as well. If I were in your shoes, since you have 2 consonant names and one vowel name I would make baby's name Arden to make them even. May be dumb but that's the way I would approach it if it were me. Plus Arden is adorable.

sarahh I love that simply because that is a logic similar to all of the random ones I’ve come up with. DH thinks I’m insane. 😂

ajetter, DH has heard my logic enough that he now thinks its logical and he explains it to other people and gets the weird looks. haha

I love Gemma Rae. Part of me is like that is one of thinking about it sarahh, but both our DD's names start with vowels, so my one rule for DS is his name has to start with a consonant soooo.....I am totally a picking name based off vowel/consonant person

I prefer Arden and love it with your other daughters' names, and I think it's unexpected but pretty with Rae an a MN.

Gemma is our hypothetical-if-we-ever-have-a-girl name, so I'm partial to Gemma Rae, and I think it sounds adorable together. I do like how unique/unused Arden is, though.

I like Gemma better with Rae and with the sibset.
Because you asked... Another name that popped in my head while reading this was Tessa. I think it goes with Rae nicely and with your sibset too.

I prefer Arden Rae. I think it goes well with your sibset. I'm not a fan of Gemma.

Of those two, I prefer the flow of Gemma Rae, but on its own, I think I prefer Arden.
I am no help.

Gemma is just a better name than Arden, so I would say go with Gemma.

Gemma is just a better name than Arden, so I would say go with Gemma. For some reason my family and social circle do not know the name Gemma, and are prouncing it with a G sound instead of a J sound and DH is frustrated by it. I know eventually everyone would figure it out but he doesn’t want people to mess it up...
