I have no clue what to get Z for her birthday or Christmas. She is turning two. I really don’t know what she likes yet. She doesn’t seem to know or care about princesses yet. She mostly plays with Omar’s toys but I’d like to get her a few things that are her toys.
Can any of you remember what your daughter liked two years ago? I’m scared to pull the trigger on anything expensive for fear that she won’t be interested in it.

snoopmommymom, Obviously I don't have an N13 girl but we are planning to get L a kitchen set for Christmas because we don't have one yet. Also, she looooves her shopping cart she got for her birthday. Also on my list: doll and stroller.

Legos (still a big hit), the play kitchen and food. I did a doll house when she turned three, but I think it something she would've liked at two, as well.

Don’t have an N13, but dd is a year and a half. Kitchen is a hit, stroller, baskets/bags anything she can put something in and log around, duplo, bath toys. We’re getting them a little store kind of thing for Sinterklaas, I know she loves those. We have a pippi longstocking dollhouse kind of thing she loves. Also animals in any way shape or form!
ETA playfood for in the kitchen or store.

We have a kitchen set and lots of legos.
I was thinking play food and maybe a little microphone.
I like the idea of a shopping cart or stroller. Maybe the shopping cart because I was thinking of getting O a cash register. With that and more play food we can get a whole grocery store going.
Anyone have a cash register they love? I want one that scans items and has a credit card slot because O loves doing that at the store.

Melissa and Doug makes a nice metal shopping cart if you're looking for one.

Do you have an easel? That with a bunch of markers or chalk or crayons could be really fun too

I just went back through pics to see what H got for her 2nd birthday/Christmas here’s a list of some of the things.
Kitchen Shopping cart Food/basket Vacuum Purse with accessories M & D pizza set M & D cookie set Trampoline Rody Play dough Ride on motorcycle for outside Baby doll with car seat (she actually got this when S was born but that was only 2 months after Christmas) Puzzles, specifically the M &D latch one Little people—she got the princes castle for Christmas after she turned 3 but I think she would have loved it at 1 or 2 also (S plays with it a lot now)
So I guess the main theme from her toys is pretend play. I also like to buy things she can use throughout the year since her birthday and Christmas are together, like outdoor toys. Between 2 & 3 is when she started getting into dressing up a lot.

Most of the things we got B at 2yrs old have been said already (play kitchen was her main gift). But we also got her this Minnie Mouse Pop up house. She went crazy for it. She and C still play w it this day.

One other idea (to go along with the grocery/shopping theme) is a purse. IME, toddlers love to have a little bag to put their treasures in. This is always a hit with 2-3 y.o. girls I’ve known. ETA: I just saw trtlcrzy suggested this too Also, I want to start C on the Cozy Critters next year when she’s 2. I had the 80s version (Sylvanian Families) growing up and was obsessed. Dollhouse or some sort of pop-up playhouse/tent would be other ideas if you don’t have them already.

I knew ‘Cozy critters’ didn’t sound right but I was typing quickly and forgot to go look it up.
