Here we are...almost, yet not quite to the weekend.
DD was soo exhausted yesterday from waking at 5:00am that by 5:30pm I was giving her a bath and she was sound asleep by 6:30. It felt so weird having all that time in the evening without her running around. What's even better is that she didn't wake up early this morning....I had to go in and wake her at 7:15. Hopefully this means that she'll be in a much better mood when she gets home today.

I am annoyed with my doctor's office policy regarding flu shots. If you haven't been to the office within the year, they force you to have an appointment with a doctor, not a PA but an actual doctor. It's pain because my doctor doesn't usually have a whole lot of open appointments. So I ended up scheduling with a new doctor in the office. I don't really having anything wrong so it shouldn't be a big deal, but it's annoying that I just can't go in and get the shot. For those of you wondering why I don't just go to the pharmacy for the shot...my insurance won't cover it unless it's administered at a doctors office.

I forgot DD has an appointment with her gastro tomorrow. Luckily it's not a huge deal to change my schedule since I SAH. She's been doing well with her dairy free diet and extra fiber intake.

I was volunteering in DD's class for an hour today. The visitor log in the school office had 6 subs signed in and her teacher told me she was sick but there was no sub to cover her room. This makes me regret not finishing college. If I had, I could at least be a sub and earn some extra $$$ for us. Re-entry to the workforce is difficult enough with a seven+ year gap, I'll be lucky to find anything that's above minimum wage.

I went in today to sub for someone at the other elementary school's computer lab & missed a half day position for a 1st grade teacher at DS' school for next week. I'm pissed. I feel weird just holding my phone all the time but I think I'm going to just do that now. Like, sorry I'm a sub. I need to get that notification asap. I was like 10 min or so late. It would have been a nice intro look into subbing for 1st grade. Blahhh

DH is going out for a drink after work which means I am on my own for dinner. I have no idea what I want to make.

Sorry if I've just been a debbie downer lately but then my mom texts me yesterday out of the blue. She says November is 'premie month thing' so if I can send her a video or picture of DS back when he was a baby to now. SIL did of her kid #3 & she'd like one of DS for her FB. DS is 6. There has been 6 other "PREMATURITY AWARENESS MONTHS" over the years that she has never cared about or probably known about but now that my golden child brother has a kid who is a preemie that is more premature than mine she's all of a sudden "woke" as the young kids would say. Lol I'm feeling some type of way about this shit. It's almost like it didn't matter until my brother went through it & now it's like oh wait, there was another preemie kid in the family, my DS. Like, he's my only. That's your third kid to be frank. Sure he's more premature & is still struggling but so is my freaking kid in other ways. Idk it pissed me off. I almost don't want to send this thing I made after I started dwelling on it. Just another example on how crappy these people are.

I have very little "real" job history, too. The way resumes are written now are completely different than when I was taught. I had to find examples online just to keep it fresh.

Hugs NamasteBirches! I'd send her what you made. If my mom was going to post something on FB about her preemie grandkid, I sure as hell would want my child to be included in that. Your mom might be doing this for the wrong reasons, but your DS should be recognized too. Your DS may not have been as early as your nephew, but having been through it, I know you went through hell back then too.

We can never find subs in my district. I subbed shortly after I took my current position, as I was technically part time with only half day classes. I was busy every afternoon from mid-October until May. Now that I'm full time with classes three full days and only two part days I don't usually tea any extra jobs unless it's in my building. The situation your in NamasteBirches is so crazy to me. We use the online system for all of our subs (certified and not certified) and I've never had issues. Usually our district won't post during the day to stop subs from being on their phones all day. I would get notifications around 4 until 9 pm. I still do all the time (but I only take jobs I know will be easy since my caseload at work is heavy this year).

From what I hear, their online system is fairly new so they are working out the kinks. Apparently everyone hates it so I'm not alone. It used to be all phone calls before.. it has the potential to be a good system but I think the tech guy still has some work to do with it.
