I have so much crap to do today and don't really have the time to do any of it.
Laundry and dishes are started, so at least there is that. I need to work, get my shower, pick up pictures at CVS, wrap Christmas gifts for the family I am seeing this weekend. Start packing for this weekend. I was going to wash my hair today so it isn't a complete mess when I get it colored and cut tomorrow and then I think "he'll just wash it there". However I think it was Sunday or Monday when I last washed it so I don't want it to be completely disgusting either. C has soccer practice tonight too and I was maybe thinking of visiting my SIL and the baby, but that might have to wait until next week.

RunsforWineandCarbs - I don't think I've seen my primary since I was pregnant with K and that was just to get my Whopping Cough Vaccine. I do want to move to a different primary care physician though so that they are in my work network and I can easily access all my info. However, I only ever go when I'm sick so then I wonder what the point of having one is. I guess I should get better at having yearly physicals though.

fierymama, so i've had the same primary for 20+ years. then my insurance changed last year and he didn't take my insurance. over the past year, I have had to go to a minute clinic 6 time. 6 TIMES. If I had a primary it would have been less times. I also just want to see a real doctor when i am sick and not a np. (nothing wrong with np's, it's just nice to actually see a doctor at times)

Does candy cause constipation? DS had definitely had more candy than usual lately and had issues pooping yesterday. All evening he would try to poop and then whine until around bedtime when he was crying all the time. DH went out to get pediatric suppositories and while he was gone DS pooped and after he seemed back to his normal self. He didn't get to bed till late but there was no way he could have slept before the poop.

I haven't found a primary doc since we moved here. It wasn't a priority and then I got KU so I have been seeing the ob/midwives all the time.

jedi, and that happened halloween. H - A's wings are on upside down. Me - no they aren't. H - yes they. the big ones need to go up top. Me - No. if you put them on that way the wings bend down because they are too heavy. They need to go on teh bottom so they dont' bend/fall over. H then makes A take her wings off and flips them over. Me - are you kidding me? Do you think I am just making this up? H ignores me and watches the wings fall/bend over due to weight. He then tried to rig them to stay up. Doesn't work. H - oh, A we need to flip your wings again. Me:

I think H was confused as to why ibrofren? But then he didn’t do either. If s1 came out again I was going to get some for him but he settled and fell asleep

I guess I was thinking that ibrofren helps with pain and Tylenol helps with pain and fever (which we didn’t have) plus I think ibrofren lasts longer.

DD2 works at a photography studio. Apparently for the last week they been receiving calls from a man who has been asking inappropriate questions and leaving inappropriate voicemails. They don’t have caller ID so they have no way of screening the calls. She sent H a text asking for advice, the guy scheduled an appointment for Saturday. He told her to cancel the appointment, contact the district manager, contact HR and go to the police. She and her manager contacted the district manager (who is aware of this customer because he harassed another store previously). She told them they will not be cancelling the appointment and she will go to the store to discuss with them on Friday. I don’t think they called HR either, but I’m going to urge her to do that and make sure she knows she doesn’t need her manager or the DM to be okay with that. She did go to the police and she said she broke down crying when she was repeating the things the man said to her over the phone. I really hope this DM gets her head out of her ass and makes this easier on these girls, they are uncomfortable, don’t make it an issue for them to stand up for themselves.... bitch- you will not win.

mrspiatt, I don't understand if the DM is aware of previous harassment, why is she/he willing to have this man as a customer? Doesn't the safety of her employees come first? If the DM is insisting on keeping the appointment, I would suggest your DD calls in sick that day. You DD needs to go to HR right away. She needs to let them know she made the DM aware that she is uncomfortable with this customer and for what reasons. That she's so uncomfortable she went to the police. And that the DM is not doing anything about it. Also, what did the police say? If this is harassment and a crime has been committed can't your DD tell them when the appointment is and can't the cops show up? There's just so many NO's about this. I would personally tell the DM that i am not comfortable dealing with this customer and if they insist on keeping him as a client than to handle him their-selves, that I will not be in the same room as him.

mrspiatt, I'm sorry your daughter is going through that. How scary. Since the DM is pulling a meeting together, I would assume at the moment they are taking it seriously and will have some sort of plan in place to protect employees or address it directly with the customer. There could be some things in the works that the DM isn't at liberty to say or needs to pull in information from a variety of places. I know as a manager any time I have to make big decisions, I need to pull in multiple people which can take time. Basically, I'm reserving my judgement until tomorrow. However, if I were in her shoes, I would have in my head what I would want the expectations for my safety to be, how I expect the company to react and keep me safe, and what I would do if my expectations were not met. I feel like this is obvious but I wouldn't play around when it comes to my personal safety.

RunsforWineandCarbs- as far as the police, I’m not sure what they said or if they gave her any advice. I also don’t know that they can do anything if he shows up for an appointment that hasn’t been cancelled. The Sheriff station is about a quarter mile away, so at least they’re close if they get called. She’s been at work all day, but I asked her to call me when she’s off. I do want to make sure she has called HR, whether or not the appointment gets cancelled, she needs to make them aware. skinandbones- that’s a good point... I am passing judgement and just assuming the DM doesn’t care, maybe she is working on something. H and I are definitely going to make sure she’s not put in a bad situation. We obviously can’t force anyone’s hand in anything, but when DD2 (and her manager) are asking H for advice I feel like we have some control/influence over the situation. H told DD2 best case scenario, they cancel the appointment, the DM gets mad and fires them, then she and her manager have the rest of the college paid for. We don’t think that’ll happen, but he just wanted her to realize that they are not powerless over the situation, they have options and they’re allowed to stick up for themselves and not be put in a situation that makes them uncomfortable.

So DD1 said the DM is no longer going to the store tomorrow and still wants them to keep the appointment. They are not doing this. She is trying to get in touch with the DM to make sure she has all her facts before she calls HR in the morning. She’s pissed... it sounds like her manager will be cancelling the appointment, but it’s just an f’d up situation for these girls to be in. I’m proud of DD1 for coming to us and for taking the steps she needs to in order to protect herself. I hope there’s no trouble on Saturday.

mrspiatt, it sounds like your DD is handling the situation the right way - I'm glad they are cancelling the appointment if they feel uncomfortable, even if getting pressure from their boss not to. Fx for a good meeting with HR tomorrow!
