babybean i am definitely not feeling as connected with this pregnancy...i think for me i just don't have the same amount of time i had to daydream about this baby. i'm not checking apps or googling constantly either. i guess if anything it's making this pregnancy fly by and it won't be long before they will be here!

Same. I’m also still sleeping on my back/belly and eating deli meat and soft serve ice cream. It’s very different but is flying by for sure. It’s kind of nice being more lax this time, eh?

clementine, my OB is more worried about the bacteria in soft serve ice cream or frozen yogurt than lunch meat or sushi. He still doesn't care if I eat any of it.

Weeks pregnant: 17+6
Baby is the size of a: pomegranate, creme brulee, a baby tribble, tall frappucino, chipmunk or game controller (it amuses me how much variation there is)
FTM/STM/TTM/etc: STM (5th pg)
Team: Blue
Appointments: OB/midwife at the end of the month, anatomy scan in 3 weeks
Symptoms: Upper back pain, constipation
Milestones: Been feeling flutters since the weekend and real movement this morning!
Rants/Raves/Vents: How is this year flying by so quickly? Brought up my storage tote of maternity clothes from the garage only to find all short sleeves, skirts, and shorts. Of course, my last pg was a spring/summer pg.
GTKY: What is your favorite candy? Hershey's Dark, KitKat, Nestle Crunch

Assuming he is referring to the cleanliness of the soft serve or frozen yogurt machines and not frozen yogurt from the grocery store. Although, why one would purchase frozen yogurt at the grocery store over ice cream boggles my brain.

Weeks pregnant: 17+1
Baby is the size of a: pomegranate
FTM/STM/TTM/etc: STM
Team: Blue
Appointments: A/S at the end of November
Symptoms: Growing belly, random nausea
Milestones:
Rants/Raves/Vents: Not pregnancy related but DH and I are going to a wedding this weekend and I’m excited. I rented a dress from RTR that will hopefully stretch enough for my belly. I haven’t felt movement yet and I think I had by this point last time. Although when I had an U/S after the Doppler debacle I did have an anterior placenta which I’m assuming could make it harder to feel. GTKY: What is your favorite candy? Skittles, starburst, Reese cups

And I've been buying frozen yogurt at the store. I can't handle ice cream & most dairy this pregnancy so far, but yogurt, whether just refrigerated or frozen, has been okay.

Weeks pregnant: 16w5d
Baby is the size of a: dill pickle (which was very confusing then I realized that we only buy the mini ones 😂)
FTM/STM/TTM/etc: STM
Team: Green
Appointments: NP visit yesterday with more blood work. She did a great job of validating my fears but also emphasizing that my DS risk is not something to stress over. (I also continued to google and it looks like my numbers are more “normal” based on my O dates than on the baby’s measurements. Since DD was a monster and we didn’t measure ahead at the very very beginning, I think the baby is just big and measuring ahead.)
Symptoms: exhausted and cranky. General disinterest in food. Unless it’s a grape fruit, queso, or a whopper, I just don’t care about eating. Nothing tastes good.
Milestones: More movement and I scheduled my AS! FFWC: I lied and said I’d be out of town after Thanksgiving so they’d do the scan before the holiday.
Rants/Raves/Vents: I also feel less connected (and yet more worried about?) this baby. I still haven’t publicly announced or even really told that many people and I feel a little bit guilty about it. Maybe I’ll announce via Christmas cards/pictures?
GTKY: What is your favorite candy? Gummy candy is I have to choose. Specifically sour gunny works and those green frogs that are white on the bottom.

clementine, my OB is more worried about the bacteria in soft serve ice cream or frozen yogurt than lunch meat or sushi. He still doesn't care if I eat any of it. I remember at the end of my last pregnancy I found out that soft serve and runny eggs were technically “no’s”. I had been SO GOOD about sushi and was pissed that I “wasted” my risk on less delicious foods. Now I’m just eating sushi and not giving any fucks.

Leaf 🌱 That's brilliant! I wish I would have thought about fibbing to have my scan done before Thanksgiving.

Leaf 🌱 That's brilliant! I wish I would have thought about fibbing to have my scan done before Thanksgiving. LOL thanks! I *know* that any time between 18-21 weeks is generally acceptable and DD measures big so I figured no harm, no foul.

Wait - are we really not supposed to eat soft serve ice cream?! ”listeria risk” because the machines may not be properly cleaned. Funny thing is it’s always hummus that has listeria recalls, not the deli meat or soft serve ice cream. 🤔

When I was pregnant with my daughter I swear every vegetable had a listeria recall. Ice cream didn't. I came out a winner.

clementine , my OB is more worried about the bacteria in soft serve ice cream or frozen yogurt than lunch meat or sushi. He still doesn't care if I eat any of it. I got food poisoning from sushi when I was 8 weeks pregnant with my first. Food poisoning in your first tri is something of nightmares. Seriously the worst experience ever. I couldn't eat but not eating made my morning sickness worse so even after the extreme sickness coming from both ends subsided I couldn't get a reprieve.
