I grew up with a fake tree and so did MH but we have always gotten real trees since our first Christmas together. I love it! He mentions fake trees sometimes and I just love our real trees too much to go back.

I have a couple pairs of sweatpants that I got from h&m last year that I freaking love. They also have pockets. I’ll see if I can find them and link. I think these are the same. The colors are a little different but the style with the drawstring and the pockets is the same. They are $18. m.hm.com/us/product/74687?article=74687-A

I have a pair of sweatpants from Walmart that I'm currently loving. They were cheap. Am not buying any expensive maternity sweatpants.
ETA: also living in LLR leggings

I have one pair of plain gray sweatpants that I got year ago that I still wear. They got my whole pregnancy with DS, and I am hoping they continue to fit this pregnancy. I hate buying pants. I am tall and it is difficult finding talls that fit well.
With regards to Christmas. I love it but won’t start decorating until after Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. We get real Christmas trees, but I would be okay with a fake one. If DH picks out the tree he goes super cheap and they end up looking like Charlie Brown Christmas trees, so he isn’t allowed to pick them out on his own anymore.

I just got off the phone with my OB. I guess my feeling that my anatomy ultrasound this morning was super fast wasn't totally off-base. She immediately assured me that she didn't see anything alarming, but they couldn't see the heart or face well enough. She's having me come back for a repeat scan in a month. My mind went to worst-case scenario but she kept reassuring me that she didn't see any red flags, just that baby was too small for them to see what they needed to.
It's going to be a really long month, but I keep reminding myself that if something had been really wrong, they wouldn't be having me wait a month to check in again.

I'm sorry they weren't able to get all the measurements they needed the first try. But bonus scan? *hugs*

katietopaz fwiw, My a/s took about 30 minutes and I also need to go back because they didn’t get all the pictures they needed (this after my appointment with the fluttering heartbeat too). I do think they would have had you come in sooner if there were concerns (mine has me coming in after 2 weeks) but the wait ensures growth/better pictures and movement so they can ensure they get the pics they need. Hopefully this month goes fast for you. *hug*

Thanks Rama ❤️ Google (and my NICU nurse practitioner mom) are telling me that this is super normal, and not a cause for lots of worry. Apparently baby's heart is smaller than the size of a fingernail right now, and it's really hard for them to see all four chambers of the heart if the baby isn't in the right position. Which mine had already proven to be stubborn about, ha. My repeat u/s is booked for four weeks from today, and I'll just be soaking up feeling up baby's movements until then. ETA: we must have posted right at the same time. Thank you for the reassurances, whatsit It really helps to hear others' experiences with similar situations!

Well, I will for sure have everything crossed that your LO is more cooperative than mine!! And that the tech doesn't accidentally spill the beans about what parts they see.

My A/S was a couple weeks ago and as I hopped off the table the tech said she couldn't get baby in the right position so I had to come back. There were no red flags, but it was a matter of checking all the boxes of measurements. We were there for almost an hour. Luckily (?) she forgot to measure the heartrate, so she had me climb back up for a quick check and s/he had moved enough... but the tech was also super reassuring that it happens pretty commonly, that baby is just small and won't cooperate. The longer you wait, the bigger and easier it will be to see everything! But waiting is always so so hard, for many reasons. katietopaz I hope the month flies by!

+1 for having to return for heart and kidney stuff last pregnancy! DD wouldn’t turn the right way and I just had to come back in two weeks. I tried to take the tech’s word at face value and enjoy the encore 😊 - easier said than done though!
Unrelated: my GI tract is alll sorts of messed up. Im hydrated and eating fiber but nothing seems to be moving. Any suggestions?

My midwife suggested more dried fruits, generally. Apricots, prunes. Etc.

With DS my anatomy scan took so long I got bored and nearly fell asleep on the table. This time it was really fast and I was like “you’re sure you’re done?” eta: katietopaz being 18 weeks especially I wouldn’t worry. Baby’s small and it’s a follow up because they didn’t get the visuals they need, not that they saw anything alarming. I get the worry though, hope time flies for you.

katietopaz i'm sorry you're stressing! fwiw, both of the practices that i have seen won't do the a/s until you are over 19 weeks. i know other people have already said it, but baby is still pretty small. it blows my mind that they can see what they need to see at this point. i'm sorry you have to wait a whole month but hopefully you will get reassured that everything is alright. silver lining - bonus scan? Leaf 🌱 +1 to dried fruit. i haven't really had too many issues, but i picked up some dried pears just because and woah, they got things moving!

My practice won’t do an A/S before 21 weeks. I asked if we could do it a couple of days early because DH has a day off and nope.

rm2013 Have you looked on Amazon yet for maternity sweats? I haven't checked it out, but maybe they have some on there for a reasonable price. I couldn't imagine paying $32 for a pair of maternity sweats. Hope you can find some at a decent price.

My kids suck at sleeping and last night was no different. At 3.5 and almost 2 years old, I wish they would just sleep all night and let me sleep. My eyes are blood shot and burning today. Bring on the coffee. ☕☕☕

I'm getting really stressed about not feeling the baby move yet. I know it's later with an anterior placenta but I am almost 20weeks! Come on! I can't wait until the anatomy scan on Monday to hopefully have my fears relieved.

With my first, I had to go back 3 times to check on him. He was so buried into my placenta, that they couldn't get good pictures of his face/mouth. Also, he was turned so they couldn't get clear pics of his heart. Finally at 27w, they got what they needed. He's perfect (and 9!). I know it's scary but it's really going to be okay!

katietopaz - hope the month flies by, I’m sure there’s nothing to worry about! Leaf 🌱 - all the prunes! mattsgirl2004 yeah I checked Amazon and all the stuff they had was even pricier! cornpop - so sorry it’s bugging you, I definitely blame the anterior placenta. Hoping you get good reassurance on Monday and that you are able to feel movement soon!

cornpop, I hope you start feeling the baby move soon and that you get reassurance at your u/s on Monday. I am feeling movement but there have been days where it has significantly decreased or is minimal and it causes me stress. katietopaz, that happened to me when I was pregnant with DS. He was in a position where they couldn't get all of the necessary pictures, so I had to go back a few weeks later so they could get the pictures.

Thanks for all the reassurances! I'm a little surprised that my OB's office scheduled me so early to begin with - they put all my appointments on the calendar at the beginning of my pregnancy, and just went through and asked which I needed to change. I didn't realize at the time that my a/s would be so early. cornpop I'm sorry, I hope you start feeling those movements very soon. I'm glad you have an u/s on Monday that will hopefully relieve a lot of your anxiety. Hang in there!!

My little brown dog is in fact wearing a nurse's cap. Lol. And his name is Nugget, hence the NuggetRN. This will hopefully be my first take home baby with 4 previous losses.
