katietopaz, How exciting! I can't wait to see my baby at the anatomy scan. It's not until the week after Thanksgiving though. I hope yours goes well! I had an appointment yesterday and the dr had a really hard time getting a reading on the heartbeat. Every time she would find it, he would immediately move.

I think Em is really going to get it this year and I'm so excited so I'm all in for Christmas already. Right from Halloween music to Christmas music.

+1 to weekly threads. With how chatty our board is, I even think we could do daily personally. But monthly is definitely too much!

I need to clean my house today and Sirius XM has their Christmas station starting! Totally going to be rocking out to Christmas music to make the cleaning bearable.

I’ve been planning myself a vacation this morning for March 2020. I shall be going alone. At that point I’ll have been nursing or pregnant or both for 7 full years with no break.
I might even come back afterward.

filingjointly now that is something to look forward to. I turn 30 next year and wanted to vacation somewhere to celebrate, but I might have to push it off due to young kids... 😬

See guys, when you are Canadian you are free to celebrate Christmas as soon as Halloween is done because Thanksgiving has happened.
I'm almost giddy this morning thinking about putting up my christmas tree in my new house. Its probably all the sugar. I need to get that leftover candy into work.

Which is: sleep, eat room service in bed, read a bunch of books, do a crossword puzzle in peace whilst drinking coffee and eating a croissant, and go shopping for new bras and clothes.

I grew up with a fake tree always, so I’ve stuck with that. A big no thank you to spiders on a real tree. I would die. I usually don’t put up Christmas until after thanksgiving, but I put my fall decor up so early this year that I’ll prob get sick of it before thanksgiving. Plus we spend Christmas Eve until New Years at our parents so I feel like we miss out on at least a week of Christmas decor in our house. I’ve now convinced myself to decorate early this year. At least I’m too pg to climb up in the attic this year

I'm team fake tree. I grew up with one, but DH grew up with a real tree and a mostly-teasing perspective that a fake tree = a fake Christmas. My ILs are diehard team live tree, apparently. Live trees are just a massive PITA to clean up after and then dispose of after Christmas, and they stink up our small space. Sorry, DH, I'll buy a pine-scented candle and call it good.
We did a real tree for the first few years of marriage, then he caved to getting a fake one. Something about me being pregnant with our first DS helped me win the fight that year, haha.

Also, I just got home from my anatomy ultrasound. It went insanely quickly. I was in there for maybe 10 minutes? My mind started spiraling, but my mom quickly talked me off the ledge, saying that a) they would have spent more time scanning if they saw something wrong, and b) they almost definitely wouldn't have let me leave without talking to a doctor if something were wrong.
The tech confirmed we're team blue, and I got a decent look at baby boy. I'm also apparently carrying high - she was scanning up by my belly button almost the whole time. This point in pregnancy with DS, I feel like he was still practically down in my pelvis. It's fun to see how this pregnancy is different.

katietopaz almost twins again. My A/S is Friday! I've been Team Real Tree for several years at this point. My parents started it up when we settled here (I'm an Army brat) and I've been keeping it up with H since we started living together. It's definitely a pain in the ass, but something about having a real tree just makes the whole thing more cheery for me. I grew up with a fake tree for many years, so having something alive makes me happy.

And I agree with your mom, I think the dr would've come to see you if something was wrong and it would've taken a lot longer. Sounds like your little boy is awfully cooperative. Fingers crossed that carries over into the toddler years.

I was always team real tree until i got one that had lights on it already. Now, please sign me up for the fake tree that I literally pull out of the box and light up. Nothing beats the smell of a real tree though.

When DH and I first got married I really wanted a real tree, since it was something I never had growing up. He talked me out of it and we've been doing the fake tree with lights already on ever since. It was probably a good thing...I think my cat would mess with a real tree...she mostly leaves my fake tree alone. The only time she's bothered my tree was the year I tried to put tinsel on it and I caught her trying to eat it.

leatherpants glad your scan went well! Mine went pretty quickly too and it was so early that the dr wasn’t even there yet, so I was a little worried about leaving without the okay from the dr but the tech said she def wouldn’t let us leave if there was any questionable issue. So that made me feel better.

Mine is pretty chill and, except for trying to drink the tree water, she pretty much leaves it alone. She actually loves just laying on the tree skirt because the tree is near her people and it's nicer than our laminate floor.

If you are doing something, she's sitting right there watching. She also really likes to climb and get to high places, so I can completely see her climbing the tree branches. But I can see what you mean...DH's cat that he had when we first got married wouldn't have cared.

But I have definitely seen cats hiding in the trees before, so it might not work so well for yours. Our cat has to "check" everything, to make sure it's okay, then she'll leave it alone. XD

Happy Halloween Hangover Day! Can I vote that we make this thread weekly (if daily is too much) instead of monthly? I always lose track of who said what where😩 I wanted to say the same thing!

I got to make someone feel sad today. Sorrynotsorry.
Don't ask me if I have kids. Don't do it. Because I will, every time, say, "None that are alive," and I guarantee you'll feel like a tool.
