I also get cankers snoopmommymom. Did they check for strep? C would get tongue sores with the strep so that's why I ask. Hopefully it is just cankers. Mylanta applied with a qtip can help soothe. She looked at his throat and there was nothing there. Also, if I is just canker sores, I wonder if the stress of full day pre k is bringing it on. He got his first cheek canker sore right when school started. What’s happening right now though is a much bigger outbreak. Does he have bumps/blisters on his hands, feet, or genital area? I'm sure the pedi liked for those since the accompany hfm. The mouth blisters were the worst. I also recommend the magic mouthwash as it is a general pain relief rather than specific to hfm relief. I hope he feels better soon. Also, I found that about 10 min after the mouthwash was the only time I could get food and water in E. Just a thought if you are having issues with him eating.

snoopmommymom it could be hfm. Cadence didn't always get fever with it and 4 out of the 5 times she had it, it presented with sores in her mouth and throat. Poor guy, hopefully the sores don't last that long. Wasn't there a solution floating around n13 for awhile that would help the pain? The only one I can think of is called magic mouthwash. I think it has Maloxx and Benadryl and something else in it. On further thought I think that might be for adults. Sorry, not enough coffee, yet. For HFM sores our doc prescribed a mix of liquid Benadryl and Nystatin.

What is magic mouthwash and where do I get it? Of course my H did NOT follow my directions. He didn’t give him Tylenol as soon as he woke up so then O refused to eat breakfast citing his tongue hurting.

@snoopmoomymom does he take a multivitamin?
I know zinc deficiency can cause canker sores. I've heard iron, calcium, and folate as well but to a lesser extent.

lfig your experience with RSV does sound awfully familiar to last week with N😣. She spiked to 104 while at the pediatrician and the nurse was putting wet towels on her and gave her medicine while there. I can see how it just screws up their lungs and infection sets in. I think since j had pneumonia at the same age I'm a bit more calm this time, and thankful that N was a bit older and didn't have to go to the hospital. Rsv sucks
