I just got home from target (yes, at 11pm) and I did quite well with coupons, 3 for 2 board games, a paw patrol Advent calendar, last bottle of formula. All thrilling stuff really. And now I'm annoyed at mh for not listening or acknowledging my shopping prowess. I even had the guy freeze my check out so I could run and get one more thing to qualify for the gift card for a $75 baby purchase. I'm such a cliche.

slenle I’m sorry, that’s the worst. Dh will “spring” financial stuff on me like that sometimes, like completely out of nowhere act like we’re spending so much money when we’re not. I hate it and it always makes me feel attacked. And I’m in full support of another slenle baby!!

Argh, there's a confirmed case of RSV in Chase's class... Eek. So when N was super sick last week, they tested her for the flu but it was negative. The nurse said it was probably RSV, but they don't test for it at the office, only at the hospital if it's that bad - but that's normally for super young babies. She said we could get it, but it'd just be a cold to us. I found that a bit interesting since RSV scares the crap out of me, but they were like NBD. (But then she got pneumonia somehow, so who knows - maybe the virus lead to that?) Regardless, hope you guys avoid it!

No fever. There are def like spots or pimples on his tongue. He’s really hurting. Waiting on dr now. What did the doctor say? The doctor said they looked like canker sores but could also be caused by a virus. Either way there is no treatment and can take 1-3 weeks to go away. She said having them on the tongue is the most painful. So I guess I will be alternating Motrin and Tylenol to help him with the pain. My poor little guy. He is in so much pain. I feel like it’s my fault though because I get canker sores and I read online it could run in the family. I’m going to follow up with his real dr at his 4yr appnt to see if it could be a vitamin deficiency or something that’s causing it. I’m also not totally convinced it’s canker sores because it’s not just one or two, he actually has a lot on his tongue. So painful.

snoopmommymom it could be hfm. Cadence didn't always get fever with it and 4 out of the 5 times she had it, it presented with sores in her mouth and throat. Poor guy, hopefully the sores don't last that long. Wasn't there a solution floating around n13 for awhile that would help the pain?

Then the very next day, her fever shot up to 105. Took her to ER and she had pneumonia also. They transferred her to the Childrens Hospital and kept her overnight for breathing treatments. So N may have had both. They can def go hand in hand I think.

I think it has Maloxx and Benadryl and something else in it. On further thought I think that might be for adults. Sorry, not enough coffee, yet.

I was thinking of making a salt water gargle but just having him stick his tongue in it. Otherwise I’m sure he’d swallow it.
I didn’t get to see him this morning because he was still sleeping when I left. I gave strict orders to MH about Motrin and Tylenol. I might try to pick him up early today if I can so I can give him another dose.

snoopmommymom, I used to get a ton of canker sores. My bil is a dentist and had this liquid ointment that he put on them one time. It sort of burned the sores so they would heal quicker. Not sure if that would be an option or if it would be safe for a LO, but maybe something to look into

Dh was already in a better mood before he left last night. He just has a high stress job and every once in a while he panics.
Speaking of nerds... I forgot we have a full bag of them that I sent to preschool with N but they didn’t take out of her backpack. Add that to the 10lbs if candy sitting on my counter...

I also get cankers snoopmommymom. Did they check for strep? C would get tongue sores with the strep so that's why I ask. Hopefully it is just cankers. Mylanta applied with a qtip can help soothe.

She looked at his throat and there was nothing there. Also, if I is just canker sores, I wonder if the stress of full day pre k is bringing it on. He got his first cheek canker sore right when school started. What’s happening right now though is a much bigger outbreak.
