I have 2 kiddos. My big guy is almost 4 and is a combination of "sweetest kid on earth" and "total handfull". My little will be 7 months old tomorrow. He loves his mommy above all else, so much so that I can rarely leave his side. People tend to assume I must be frustrated by it, I get hints of pity, and find myself constantly reassuring people that I really don't mind "not having a break" (I really need to get out of the habit of reassuring everyone else). I'm tired of course. I have times when I wonder how things would be different if it didn't take us so long (I had planned to have 3 or 4 kids by now).
Edit: favourite kids book - we had a huge Winnie The Pooh book when I was a kid. I remember my mom used to read us a chapter from it each night.

A turned eight months old yesterday. She's such a happy, smiley girl. She's crawling everywhere, eating everything, and finally sleeping now that we've been doing sleep training. Because of the sleep, I'm feeling much more like myself lately. But seriously, you cannot eat anything in front of this kid without her staring you down and licking her lips.
Favorite kids book: I was really big into reading, so I probably can't narrow it down.

N will 8 months next week. She is still such a sassy little diva. She pretty much loves eating most puréed food. We've recently started trying to give her softer solid foods to try to work on her self feeding and chewing skills and she's doing really well with that. She's been getting up on all fours like she's about to crawl but hasn't quite figured it out. I'm not rushing her though because then that means I have to start putting gates up!
I'm doing ok. Still trying to get a handle on this whole parenting thing while trying to take care of my mother and work on my relationship with DH. Not that there's anything wrong. I just feel like it's so easy to lose sight of your relationships when a good chunk of your day is now devoted to LO.
GTKY: My favorite book as a kid was Green Eggs and Ham.

Can I play? My baby turned one on Sunday but I refuse to believe she's not an infant anymore.
No walking yet, she will cruise along the furniture. She will stand for a few seconds by herself. Big sis didn't walk until almost 14 months and it looks like she will be doing the same.
It took her a long time to get into eating but the past couple weeks she is doing better. She's on mostly purees and yogurt but we are adding lots of soft foods and she does pretty well even if she doesn't eat much. We switched to whole milk a few weeks ago. Now we need to work on getting rid of the bottle.
She's a good sleeper thankfully. Though she has been moving toward one nap the past few weeks and I'm not a fan.
She is the total opposite of my four year old. She doesn't like to cuddle and she wants to play by herself a lot. She is in a major separation anxiety phase though as well. If we leave the room it's like her whole world is ending. Even if she can still see us.

Hi everyone. I'm going to try to stop in here more often. I was pretty active on 3T, checked in on PAIF and stopped after the NB checkin on SAIF.
I have a little boy "C" who turned 7 months old today. He was conceived with IVF after 2.5 years and 7 IUIs. We are unexplained. C is a very happy boy, loves eating food and is STTN. He has been babbling a lot lately and loves to sit up or play in his jumper. He hates tummy time and has only rolled over a handful of times. I totally expected him to skip crawling but just today was on his hands and knees for the first time so that might be coming soon. Someone hold me!

A is 10 weeks tomorrow. She's STTN from 8:15/8:30ish to 5:30ish. The last few days we've been getting over a cold and naps are rough. She used to sleep anywhere, but lately will only sleep on me or in the carseat if in the car/stroller. She's is "talking" to us and has discovered her fingers move AND can reach her mouth (before she was mouthing her fist when hungry, but now she'll stick her thumb or a finger or two in to chew/self soothe). I can't believe it's been 10 weeks already!

Dang grover that's some awesome sleep! Z is 4 1/2 months old, and the 4 month regression seems to be strong. Up until this point we've had a very chill, happy baby, but lately she's been off. She went from almost always sleeping about 8-6 to multiple wakeups within the last week. It seems to be gas driven, but we haven't done anything different so I'm not sure what's causing it. She's already on probiotics... So...mama's tired! DH is gone for two weeks so we're just trying to muddle through. QOTW - As a little kid I loved Where the Wild Things Are.

Went from sleeping through the night, or only waking up once to nurse, to waking up 6-8 times a night.

E turned 7 months last week. This whole week she has been terrible with sleep and napping. It hasn't been good. Not sure why it's happening.
H & I are good, just tired.
QOTW: I loved the Berenstain bear books.

Baby murrt will be 8 months tomorrow. Whhhhaaaattt?
She's doing good except she's already pulling herself up and it's scary to think she might be walking soon. She need to slow her roll.
She's doing great and eating a bunch, but texture is something to get used to...

I have a 5 month old! She is a really good baby. 3rd tri, birth, and recovery were rough for me so I say that having a chill baby who sleeps is my reward Right now I feel like we're doing a lot of transitions - moving her to the crib from bassinet, starting solids, moving from bouncer to exersaucer, and babyproofing everything!

Hey everyone! L is 5.5 months old and I cannot believe how close she is to 6 months! We had a lot of meltdowns this weekend, she just needed more sleep and her morning naps weren't cutting it apparently. Overall, though, she is doing fantastic! Lots of smiles, laughter, trying to sit up, loving to stand with support, and putting EVERYTHING in her mouth I'm doing good! I wish she wouldn't have woken up several times last night for her paci, I'm feeling pretty tired today... GTKY: Probably a tie between Clifford and the Bernsteins Bears books!

jftb, yay for sleep! pippa, ((hugs)). I feel like my relationship with DH is just different now, too. We aren't communicating like we used to, I'm hoping it gets better soon for all of us! goldenlove, eek! It's funny how it really is scary and exciting when they start moving more! I'm not ready for a mobile baby!! dancerspose, I'm sorry! P.S. If anyone has any advice for all of these MOTN wakeups for her paci, I'm all ears. I tend to just jump up and give it to her, and she goes immediately back to sleep. Should I let her try to cry it out a bit? I'm so sick of getting up so many times...

winnifred So I'm sure it's against the "rules" for leaving things in the crib but C uses a Wubba paci and I just leave it on his chest or next to his arm when he falls asleep. He figured out how to put it in his own mouth and now puts himself back to sleep (unless he flings it out of reach). I did talk to his pedi about it and she said technically she can't recommend it but that if I'm comfortable with it then it's probably fine. I've seen the way he handles it and was confident that he would be fine. But before that point, I used just a normal paci and would get up and reinsert it everytime he cried overnight so I'm not much help with that.

Then we went cold turkey when we did sleep training. She only uses it for naps now.

jftb, so talk to me about this... when the baby wakes up in the MOTN, the same CIO rules apply? Thanks, goldenlove! I'm considering getting something that she can hold on to and have a paci attached, but she has always hated the wubba ones so I don't have anything ready to use. I'm also not sure if she could find it herself at this stage or not. She also seems to like sleeping with a muslin blanket, so I've considered giving her one so that she can snuggle with it until she falls back asleep. I know that's definitely against the rules but I have seen a lot of people online that thought it was fine because the fabric is so breathable. So IDK. I also found out that her new daycare allows 20 minutes of crying before they'll offer her any assistance to go back to sleep during her naps. I've never let her go more than a minute or two crying, and it sounds like she only cried for a few minutes with them before falling back asleep, but I'm kind of shocked over the whole 20 minute thing. That seems like way too much!

winnifred I think you just have to go with your comfort level for some of these things, especially if it'll help her sleep. And if you're not OK with daycare waiting 20 minutes, I would definitely bring it up to them!

Once she got the hang of falling asleep on her own, she's been pulling 10-10.5 hour stretches.
