We are driving from Houston to NOLA. J did great on his first flight and we had a good time visiting NASA. We're looking forward to exploring NOLA for a couple days before heading home. Anyone else up? Anyone with vacation plans coming up?

We may be in NOLA for a wedding in March. I'm sooo excited, pending that my mom can keep both boys for the weekend.
Have fun!

New night. Didn’t check this yesterday. I should have. I fell asleep feeding the baby again last night. Every time I wake up after doing that I get so upset. What if I drop her or smoosh her next time? She’s so little and fragile ya know ? Any ways. That’s why I need MOTN threads. Keep me awake The only thing I've found that keeps me up is eating a snack while feeding ds2 lol. Night feedings are hard.

lupincat, I hope that you can make it to NOLA, it is such a fun city and I imagine even more fun without babies. @starzia, don't be so hard on yourself, I'm sure we've all done it. The only way for me to stay awake in the early days was to watch shows on my phone. But yea let's get more activity here on this board to keep you awake! @icedtea, sorry F had a bad night. Was she any better yesterday? Also, do you own a house on this side of the country?

It's not MOTN anymore but it might as well be because I've been up since 4AM traveling back home from our vacation. I am so ready for my bed. I hope J feels the same.

We are off to a rough start tonight. We just got back from vacation and daycare called to let me know that J is having a bad day, crying and not wanting to eat. He is usually so mellow and hardly fusses at all. I was able to leave work a little early and he was doing better when I got there. He seemed pretty happy to be home but we had a really tough time getting him down and I had to just let him fall asleep nursing in bed. I don't know if he's just out of sorts from being on vacation or teething or what but I hope he is feeling better tomorrow. Oh and I dropped my phone on my way to daycare and smashed the screen to the point that I'm worried I would cut my finger if I try to use it. Wah.

Thanks lupincat ! Ugh piratecat , all that sucks. I hope the night gets better. Was this his first vacation? First real vacation, but we've traveled quite a bit (by car, not by air) visiting families. He had a slight fever last night so we gave him Tylenol and that seems to have helped a bit. I'm leaning towards teething for now but H is now home sick with a cold so... We had a rough night but he seemed better this morning.

@starzia, where do you nurse? In the beginning J would only sleep on my chest and I would prop my arms up on pillows so that I can fall asleep and feel comfortable keeping him supported on my chest. Could you do something like that while you nurse so you won't have to worry too much about falling asleep?

I couldn't even keep track of how many times he woke up. And sometimes he would be too upset to nurse but was happier sitting up and playing with toys. At 1AM. And then at 4AM. How long will this go on???

@starzia, yea edge of the bed would make me nervous too. We have our side sleeper up against my side of the bed so I didn't have to worry about that part. I'm glad you were able to get yourself situated in a way that feels safe and comfortable for you.

J did better at daycare today. He's still a bit fussy tonight and has a fever and is stuffy so I'm stuck in bed with him again. I may try laying him down again but I'm not mad about having an excuse to go to bed early.

piratecat - Sorry he's sick! I was hoping we'd get another post-vaccinations great sleep night but she just woke after only 4 hours. So I got 2 this stretch. Today was an awesome pumping day! I got 4.5, 4, 3.5 at my work pumps and then 4 again at bedtime! I've consistently been getting 3 max. Besides the first one being due to J not eating one side this morning before daycare, no idea why so much milk today but hoping it's my body adjusting and it's the new normal!

My random word vomit for motn/super early morning...
I have been thinking a bit lately about trying to figure out how to lose this extra weight. I'm 7wks pp today. So I texted a friend. She is a beachbody coach, but very into breastfeeding and has done lots of research etc. I was hoping to get some ideas of what I can do to work on things. She pretty much said, no. You can't do anything right now. That was a bit discouraging for me. Other than making some food swaps, sh really doesn't suggest making any diet type changes. Which is partly beachbody rules and partly breastfeeding. Supply is such a delicate thing.
I'm playing around with the idea of trying it anyways though. I pulled out an old weight watchers cookbook and manual. I pulled out my Fitbit...its been dead since April 🙈 But I don't really know where to begin at this point. I set my Fitbit up for 1lb/wk weight loss goal (I read that was safe in the weight watchers book).
So I'm feeling kinda lost and unsure. I want to do this. But I don't want to jeopardize what I've got going. But I want to do this at the same time.
And I fully realize, for the most part, I probably sound like a total crazy person.

ssm - I've heard the same thing about cutting calories while breastfeeding. I have heard of people having success just eating healthy foods instead of bad ones. Now that I'm back at work and bringing lunch I'm trying to clean up my entire diet. Maybe start there and add in exercise and see how it goes?

Poor kiddo seems to have come down with a bad cold - super congested with a serious fever. We've just been cuddling all day.
In other news, after being on the phone with Verizon for over an hour, I finally have my new phone set up. Nothing is easy...

cmb ugh me too. I was holding out for a good deal but then dropped my phone and shattered my screen. I got the iPhone SE for $200 and switched to their prepaid plan so it wasn't too too bad.

2nd night in a row we slept for one 6 hour stretch. Mommy is really happy A friend of mine posted on Facebook asking for people to post what they would look like if they got four hours of sleep. I have posted it that if I got four hours of uninterrupted sleep, I would be superwoman. LOL. Newborn phase is still strong around here. If We have three if we are lucky. It's much closer to two between end of feed and start of next.

I had insurance on it. I called to figure out a replacement. They replaced it with a 5se it’s basically like having a 6. The 5c capped out and couldn’t do any more updates so it’s very much like having g a fancy new phone. I have a 6 now, and it’s really too big for me. I was a huge fan of the size of the 5, but my battery crapped out so I got the 6 when it came out

@starzia I had the 5s for almost 4 years. The SE looks identical to the 5s so it almost doesn't feel like a new phone, but I'm happy to have working cameras and memory to spare.

I have no idea how or why she’s sleeping for 6 hours. Other than she’s getting older. 11 weeks tomorrow this gives me hope! And I don't know if that will work for us or not. With him being six weeks early, it may still be a while yet before we get any more sleep.
