For the purposes of this check-in, we will define extended breastfeeding as breastfeeding beyond 1 year. Questions are repeated and suggestions are appreciated! 1. How old is your LO? 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 3. What is your favorite thing about nursing a toddler? 4. Does your LO nurse to sleep? If not, what is their bedtime routine like? Pregnant & BFing Moms: How are you doing this week? Any issues with supply, pain, aversion? Questions for other moms? Tandem Nursing Moms: How are you doing this week? Any current challenges? Questions for other moms? Non-BFing question of the week: Are your kid(s) dressing up for Halloween? What will their costume(s) be?

1. How old is your LO? 13 months
2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 2-4 plus BM bottles on days I work in office, 5-7 on days I'm with DS all day.
3. What is your favorite thing about nursing a toddler? That it doesn't take FOREVER! I know I was just complaining about him dropping session lengths in the last thread, but I'll take 5-10 minutes over marathon sessions any day.
4. Does your LO nurse to sleep? If not, what is their bedtime routine like? He does not. He used to, then one night I wasn't home for bedtime and MH tried to put him down awake. It worked and we haven't looked back since. I nurse him then brush his teeth. Then turn on his white noise machine and sit in the glider in his nursery. Depending on the night he'll cuddle up with me for a bit or he'll immediately start pushing away because he just wants to be put down in his crib so he can go to sleep.
If he wakes up MOTN I do nurse him back to sleep.
Non-BFing question of the week: Are your kid(s) dressing up for Halloween? What will their costume(s) be? We are dressing up R and our dog Hank. I bought a lab coat for the dog and a monster costume for R so they can be Dr Hankenstein and Hankenstein's Monster.

1. How old is your LO? 2 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 3 3. What is your favorite thing about nursing a toddler? They're quick nursers and I don't have to worry about pumping! 4. Does your LO nurse to sleep? If not, what is their bedtime routine like? No- he gets all ready for bed, nurses briefly, and then I go put him in his crib. DH sits in the kids' room until they fall asleep.
Non-BFing question of the week: Are your kid(s) dressing up for Halloween? What will their costume(s) be? DS1 is going to be K-2SO from Rogue One. We have a Chewbacca costume (actually pajamas) and mask for DS2, but i doubt he will actually be into the trick-or-treating idea. We'll take him along in the stroller and see what happens.

1. 22.5 months now. Aye! 2. Idk, a bunch. 3. Definitely the not pumping and not worrying about being away from the baby for longer periods of time. 4. For weekend naps yes, otherwise generally no. Medicine, brush teeth/potty, book, nurse, and then roll around until she falls asleep. Our DDs share a room and they go absolutely bonkers if we try and do bedtime together. So many things to fix. After she falls asleep we move her to her crib until she wakes up. QOTW: A unicorn, just like big sis, but she seemed really frightened by the costumes at the store, so idk. I think she just wants to carry a pumpkin.

1. How old is your LO? Almost 22 months! 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 3 on work days and 5 on non-work days and then overnight. sometimes she nurses several times from 4/5am to 7 but i'm cool with it because I like to lay in bed and sleep longer 3. What is your favorite thing about nursing a toddler? it's our special time of the day to look forward to and a nice slow down from the running around pace of toddler life 4. Does your LO nurse to sleep? If not, what is their bedtime routine like? Yep. She usually nurses to sleep in a rocking chair and then I transfer her to crib. sometimes she doesn't fall asleep and moves to my shoulder. if I can't get her in crib, DH steps in. we read books, pajama, brush teeth, goodnight kisses & hugs then nurse.
Non-BFing question of the week: Are your kid(s) dressing up for Halloween: a friend gave us a cheerleading costume for her 1st bday that is 2t so she will be wearing that because i'm lazy. it's our college team.
You guise, dd has slept 3-4 hours without waking up a couple times this week. please let this continue. she usually wakes up 1 hour after we put her down and then gets in bed with us. I don't even know if she wakes up anymore overnight except for early morning hours.

1. How old is your LO? 14 months
2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 6ish
3. What is your favorite thing about nursing a toddler? Being able to skip a nursing session if needed without having to pump to replace it.
4. Does your LO nurse to sleep? If not, what is their bedtime routine like? No, she stopped nursing to sleep really early. DH puts her in pajamas and reads her a book, then I nurse her, brush her teeth, read two books, sing her a song and put her in her crib.
Non-BFing question of the week: Are your kid(s) dressing up for Halloween? What will their costume(s) be? She’s going to be a black cat. We’ll see if she keeps the tail/ears on though. I wanted something easy to put together and that I could put her in shorts and a t-shirt for because it’s supposed to be 82 on Saturday when we are doing a Halloween event with my nieces.

1. How old is your LO? 17 months
2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 10+
3. What is your favorite thing about nursing a toddler? If I miss a snack or she didn't like a meal I still know she's getting enough calories.
4. Does your LO nurse to sleep? If not, what is their bedtime routine like? Yep. She nurses to sleep for naps and bedtime. Sometimes she'll roll over after nursing and then fall asleep, but not very often.
Non-BFing question of the week: Are your kid(s) dressing up for Halloween? What will their costume(s) be? Her costume is an alligator, but we call it a dinosaur because she roars.

1. She just turned 2 last Friday!
2. 2-4
3. Her imagination. Every time she nurses, an array of stuffed animals have to “nurse” first. She makes little drinking sounds when she puts them up to my boob 😂
4. No. We do bath, diaper, jammies and brush teeth. Then we go to her room and get on her sleep sack and read two books that she picks. Then we rock and sing a few songs before she goes in her crib awake. Sometimes she asks to nurse while we are rocking/singing songs. I think this basically a stall tactic so I limit that session to two rounds of twinkle twinkle.
Tandem: Things are pretty good. She’s really doing well with the baby nursing but she still wants to alll the time. She’s usually ok with me telling her we’ll nurse later but sometimes a huge meltdown occurs.
Non-BFing question: she has a dog costume( which is her favorite animal right now) but she’s 2 with some strong opinions, so who knows if she will actually wear it.

1. How old is your LO? - 2.5year
2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? - 1-4
3. What is your favorite thing about nursing a toddler? - no pressure. And I love holding him. I’m already sad for when pregnancy will literally push him out of my lap.
4. Does your LO nurse to sleep? If not, what is their bedtime routine like? - no. Brush teeth, say goodnight to the dog, nurse (unless he says no), books, prayers, then DH and I switch and he either sings a lullaby or reads a book per toddler request. DS goes into his crib awake.
Pregnant & BFing Moms: How are you doing this week? Any issues with supply, pain, aversion? Questions for other moms? - I am so over this nausea. Nursing is unaffected. Nipple sensitivity is there but not as bad as it was a couple weeks ago.
Non-BFing question of the week: Are your kid(s) dressing up for Halloween? What will their costume(s) be? - dinosaur. His back up costume is a construction worker.

1. How old is your LO? 2 in 2 weeks.
2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 1-2, some MOTN
3. What is your favorite thing about nursing a toddler? The snuggles
4. Does your LO nurse to sleep? If not, what is their bedtime routine like? Sometimes for naps or MOTN, but she usually only nurses for a minute, says “done”, and rolls over. For bedtimes, we read books, she nurses a bit, then she goes in her crib.
Pregnant & BFing Moms: How are you doing this week? Any issues with supply, pain, aversion? Questions for other moms? No supply issues that I’ve noticed. I have some nipple sensitivity/pain, but it’s not too bad anymore.
Non-BFing question of the week: Are your kid(s) dressing up for Halloween? What will their costume(s) be? Yes. She chose to be a kitty cat. I’m excited.

Hope I can jump in here, in less than 2 weeks I will be back to trying to manage 2 nurslings and am sure I will not know what end is up for a while.
1. How old is your LO? 2y1m
2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? Some days as little as 3 times and as many as 8
3. What is your favorite thing about nursing a toddler? He can ask for "numa num" and he is funny too
4. Does your LO nurse to sleep? If not, what is their bedtime routine like?He will fall asleep nursing if he is tired, then it is impossible to remove him without waking him. Most nights H rocks him to sleep, but sometimes he crawls into bed. On nights those fail, he falls asleep in our bed and I move him if I can.
Pregnant & BFing Moms: How are you doing this week? Any issues with supply, pain, aversion? Questions for other moms?Having some kind of feels about having 10 days before both adding a baby and being away from DS3 for the first time overnight. No issues with supply and I thought I had a clog earlier this week, but DS3 got it cleared. The only time I have aversions are the days he wants to nurse all day, but then I feel slightly guilty because his whole world is going to be rocked here soon. I'm completely looking forward to not using the pump and having DS3 there to help if I have issues.
Tandem Nursing Moms: How are you doing this week? Any current challenges? Questions for other moms?
Non-BFing question of the week: Are your kid(s) dressing up for Halloween? What will their costume(s) be? DS1 Spiderman, DS2 Batman, & DS3 Mike the Knight.

1. 23 mo
2. 5am, multiple day time, before nap and before bed.
3. Especially with a non-verbal/limited verbal toddler it is an instant fix.
4. We nurse to sleep at nap, but bedtime has morphed from that to nurse and then read boos, sing songs and go to bed. We've shifted from laying to sitting to smooches and walking out of the room in the last month. He's not happy about it, but has adapted well.
We're doing the cheap/easy family costumes while they'll let me. DD is little red riding hood ($8 Amazon), DS and SO will be lumberjacks (no cost, we have jeans and flannels) and I'm going to be grandma wolf ($10 wolf nose and ears and my puffy robe).

Days late as usual 1. How old is your LO? Gosh he will be 23 months on Wednesday! 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 2 on work days, 3x/day the rest of the week 3. What is your favorite thing about nursing a toddler? Most have already covered these, but a) not pumping, or stressing if a session is missed, and b) those quiet moments with a toddler who never sits still and otherwise only cuddles if he's sick 4. Does your LO nurse to sleep? If not, what is their bedtime routine like? At naps, yes, but at bedtime no. We do bath, pajamas, MH reads him a book or two then leaves, I nurse, then put him down awake. He'll usually be the one to stop, sit up and point at the crib when he's done. Non-BFing question of the week: Are your kid(s) dressing up for Halloween? What will their costume(s) be? Yes, he will be Superman
