What's your meal plan for the week?
QOTW: what winter food do you love the most? What summer food do you miss during the winter?

Chili is in the crock pot now
That's all I got. We have pork chops, salmon, and veggie burgers in the freezer, just need to pick the days. We suck at this.

Chicken Wings & grilled veggies
Chicken drumsticks in a cream sauce with rice & broccoli
Chicken ramen
Leftovers
Spaghetti & meatballs
My favorite winter food is homemade bread. We rarely make it in the summer. I miss all the summer varieties of fruit in the winter. Oranges and bananas are good but get old quickly.

Yesterday was Chicken Pot Pie Today is Salmon Patties I don't know what will happen the rest of the week.
My favorite winter food is soup or stew. Any kind really. I love love making a good hearty stew though.
ETA: I forgot to ask my question. How do you guys get your kids to eat this stuff? My kids just don't really eat their dinner regularly. I used to try to make side dishes that they liked so I knew there was some part of the meal they would eat, but then they quit eating those too so I gave up. I cook reasonable food. If they are hungry they can eat it, if not, breakfast is at 8 am.

We are having a veggie/chicken stir fry and spaghetti... between those 2 meals & leftovers, that’ll probably last the rest of the week.
We had chicken burritos last night that were really good BUT we were supposed to have guacamole with them & the avocados weren’t ripe enough. I was super sad.

I am not a short order cook and don't make special things if someone doesn't "like" it. I will separate their food though. If we are having Greek salad, they have a plate of tomatoes, cucumber slices, chicken, olives, and feta. We also have a rule that they have to take one taste. If they don't like it they don't have to finish it. But they have to try.

I have done zero meal planning as of yet. I guess I should do some of that.
We're having a Halloween party/game night this weekend, anyone have ideas what I can make that would be easy for a crowd (maybe 15 people) and can be prepared ahead of time? I was contemplating doing a big dish of baked mac n cheese and having some toppings. Or some kind of pulled pork in the slow cooker with rolls or tortillas?

We are hosting a football party this Saturday and our main dish is going to be a big crockpot full of meatballs for sandwiches.

Dramaphile, we have friends over for Halloween every year, and last year I made a batch of rice krispy treats with green dye, and we decorated them like Frankenstein heads. It was really fun and I always forget how quick and easy they are to make.

Well. Tonight everything went to shit so everyone is eating green peppers (raw), dinner rolls, sliced apples, and cheese.
I think I hit all the major food groups. Except protein.

Also, I just made my best hummus ever in my life. I made it in the bullet instead of a food pro. It's so much smoother and creamier, and the cleanup was much simpler. Yay bullet!
I also used the bullet last week to make homemade almond butter. So good. So so good.

Sunday- pasta sauce with sausage and peppers in the crockpot over pasta Mon- leftover sauce with ravioli Tues- breakfast for dinner Wed- salsa chicken in the crockpot Thurs- nachos with the leftover salsa chicken Fri- takeout. I’ve decided that my life rule is that I don’t cook on Fridays.
My mil had some nice fish sent to us (I had no idea that mailing fish was a thing, but she lives in a place known for seafood) so I need to look through fish recipes for this weekend.
Favorite summer food- pasta with fresh tomatoes and olives. And all the fruit. It’s a long winter with no farmers market.

Monday:pot roast Tue: leftovers Wednesday: spinach quiche Thurs: probably grilled cheese Friday: homemade pizza
I don't get home from picking the kids up after work on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 6:30 or 7, so those nights are rough to feed everyone. I still haven't come up with a great system.
