Oh hey, positive GBS test. Because why fucking not? This pregnancy is just ridiculous. I got antibiotics with DS1 so no big deal but seriously can't catch a break here. I'm sorry. I'm also positive for a second time. Bummer.

Yeah, I have one. I tried that with DD and her latch was still shallow - tiny mouth. DS seems the same so far. I'm down with pumping because it means MH can help overnight and I am all about shared feedings, heh. DD also had a tiny mouth with a shallow latch and I also have flat nipples. And plus one to hating the shield. It makes such a mess. All that said, I do hope I can work a little harder to make it work this time. But if not, it'll be what it is. I had no strong feelings toward BF last time so didn't feel very motivated to work on it. This time is the same. There were definitely tons of things I could have done to try harder to get DD to latch, so I hope if you have the same trouble again you're able to find something that works for you!

Well now you need someone to come and visit you in the hospital soon after delivery with your favorite food and a milkshake. Blah. Oh, and just an FYI, bazi too, they will check your sugars every 2 hours you are laboring. Yes, even when they give you nothing that will or should actually change your sugars and you will basically have been fasting. I think they checked me a few times after too. Check with what the hours are for the cafeteria and what the after hours meal is. Our first hospital it was a boxed lunch meat sandwich and a bunch of blah as far as I was concerned. The new hospital is 24/7, so I went to town after DS3. Our hospital actually has a pretty decent menu (for a hospital) so I’m hoping to get a burger and fries. If not H is going to a 24 hour drive through.

A dear friend preferred to pump too. And yes, do what works. There are no medals here...well except for the ones about how much you post here. 😉

bazi my hospital lunch and dinner was always a cheeseburger and onion rings or tots with some sort of not water to drink and a sweet something. I just wanted to be able to have both. And we are going to the further hospital because the food is better. Everything else is the same, so I vote good food and served hot whenever I order it. #priorities

I had strong feelings of wanting it to work out, but I was so caught off guard with difficult it was that it felt defeating and I just couldn't muster up the gusto to try too hard for too long. She went on a nursing strike at 4.5 months and I took the out. I do plan to try harder this time, but I also won't feel as badly if it doesn't work out. It took a long time for me to not feel guilty. We already have a few small things of formula in the cabinet just in case. Or if someone is so inclined to feed her, I don't care if they just go ahead a mix a bottle.

Just getting caught up, again. My temp started today and with all of our server issues at work trying to teach her payroll was a pain. Hopefully tomorrow is better than the other location.

The LCs I saw the next day were like ... girl you so don't need that. We stopped using it as soon as we got home. I don't miss it lol.

DS absolutely would not nurse off my left side. The LC kept pushing the shield but it was annoying and messy and totally not worth it in my opinion. I nursed him for 14.5 months off the right side and pumped the left two times a day. My boobs were not even close to the same size for over a year. Fun times. I'm not even sure what I'll do if this baby nurses off both sides. I don't even know how to do that!

clucky and bazi, our cafeteria at the hospital closes at 9 or 10 and the food is ok, at best. When DS1 was in the NICU I ate hospital breakfast every day, left for lunch, and H brought dinner each night. The benefit to our hospital is that it is located a couple blocks from a pretty "hot" spot in our city so there are a lot of awesome take out options. I will eat everything.

I'm the weirdo who loved her nipple shield. I didn't nurse either of my kids for more than a few weeks, but I wouldn't have even lasted that long without one.

I ended up on the shield with G because I couldn’t get a letdown pumpingand not enough milk out hand expressing. I was so engorged that my nipples were completely flat. G would literally bounce off of my breast trying to latch. It was horrible, but I got rid of that shield as soon as I could, but I hated being tied to it.

Eek I think I’m starting to have “real” contractions. All-over tummy tightening with a deep cramp. I’ve just had a few of them today and they’re random so I don’t think it means anything yet. But I’m having fun practicing breathing and relaxing through them! This is so exciting.

I had to use a nipple shield with DS until he was 6w old when we got his lip/tongue tie lasered. If this baby has the same issue, I’m going to have the pedi clip it right away in the hospital. Im not fucking around this time.

Im not fucking around this time. ds3 had a tongue and lip tie. It fucked with his bottle feeding. He would swallow so much air and it caused gas issues. I will get it cut immediately at the hospital too if this baby has it. He still has his lip tie though. It doesn't affect anything until the permanent teeth come in according to his dentist.

MIL took DD for the night. I still have DS but he is sleeping already. I have to get him up and ready for school in the morning but then I'm on my own all morning. The. MIL offered that I could drop my son off there after sxhool (lunchtime for him- kindergarten is oy half days here) so I am virtually kid free all day. 😍😍😍 I'm going to sleep and watch Netflix. And maybe organize some baby stuff. Maybe. 😉

It’s 103° here right now... we are across the street from the harbor, it’s not supposed to get his hot here... we do not have A/C. I'm so sorry. Most places here don't. We invested this summer and it is $$$$ but I'm so glad we did. We just moved here. I was comparing temps before the move and when Santa Clarita was 117, it was 75 here... ugh. Oh well, I’m hoping it doesn’t let long.
