I only had a 3 week CD trial and g-diapers when L (girl) was a newborn so bear with my weird question.
J (boy) is 5 weeks and leaks out the back of at least two diapers each day. I point his tip down, and we've tried grovia nb aio, alva and blueberry pockets, kissaluvs fitteds, workhorses and various sposies. What am I doing wrong?

I don't think it's a boy thing specifically. I used cloth just fine when r was new but t was really tough. He out peed everything in 45 minutes for several weeks or a month. Then it was ok. During that phase I used sposies with a cloth cover (thirties size 1). The best cloth solution during that phase was a full size flat and the thirsties cover. Sometimes a hemp booster. I started using our OS stuff around 6 weeks which helped a ton.
I would be happy to loan you some thirsties covers if you would like to try them. I also have all my best bottoms to sell which were the first OS to fit. I have the hemp inserts which hold a lot.

This was my problem with C. At 3 or 4 weeks he was too tiny for one size and was leaking even with disposables.
I used flats and best bottoms.
If you are selling best bottoms I'm in the market for 2 or 3. I misplaced mine.

Thanks ladies! brandiewine11, I'm using Thirsties and imagine covers over the various CD and sposies. I have BB covers and inserts so don't need any but it looks like sarenu does I thought about pulling out all the OS CD I have, but it seemed too soon. Guess not LOL considering he was 9 lbs at 2 weeks. ETA it seems crazy to me to pull out the flats already too but all worth a try.

My girl used to leak nearly every day at some point, but was fine with our overnight set up. My boy never leaks in the daytime, but I never found an overnight solution and ended up in Naty by nature compoatables for night, because I was so frustrated.
We've been in my aunt's handmade fitteds with thirstiest covers and Alva Baby pockets with hemp inserts since about 3mo adjusted (spent 5 weeks in NICU and had piles of preemie pampers left).
I know that moving up in sizes seems counterintuitive, but is usually helpful.
I hope you find what works!

Have you tried bamboo flats? Would a full size flat be too huge on him?

I just found this pic of T at 5 weeks in an LBD cover and a flat. He was almost 9lbs at 2 weeks and 10.5 at 5 weeks. I think you're good.

He's now in his first BB cover with a full flat, and it looks like a good fit. Why is he growing so fast?! Anyway, sarenu, YGPM about the blanket sleepers.

My 10 week old is still in newborn stuff, on the middle rise. I guess he really is a tiny peanut. But thanks for this because I was thinking it was time to try sbish for overnight since he just started leaking a few nights ago and I've been motn changing again which is no fun. Why do they grow so fast. :/
