Heres my Tank hanging out under my desk when I brought him to the office yesterday because we got some bad news on Thursday and I couldn't bear to leave him home. I'm lucky to work in a dog friendly office. He went to the vet for dental cleanin and to finally get neutered (he has a genetic disorder that was benefiting from the extra testosterone from being in tact, but they finally decided the risk of cancer was higher than the benefit of having his balls at 8yo so we opted to get him fixed) and they couldn't do the surgery. They noticed he had lost over 6lbs in a month and had unusual protein in his urine. So they did x rays and ultrasounds and found a 5x7cm mass in his abdomen near his colon and aortic artery. We don't know his prognosis until his oncology appointment on 10/31. Any happy thoughts you can send him are appreciated. We are absolutely sick with worry and I'm so sad. 🙁

Thank you. The biggest issue is our regular vet was very concerned with the proximity to the aortic artery. It was risky enough to be out of her comfort zone and she's left it in the hands of the oncologist to decide best course of action. And also it's attached to lymphnodes which concerns her that there might be a parent tumor they haven't been able to find. I'm having a hard time remaining optimistic but I'm trying. And in the mean time he may have gotten a vanilla soft serve cone today and we are taking him on an adventure tomorrow. Trying to make the best of however much time he has to stay with us.
