vino, where are you? Hopefully your back is feeling better today! Hi I’m here. And I feel like I’m drowning. J is down to one nap, mornings are totally ridiculous, MH had an outpatient procedure yesterday which makes him useless for a while, and I’m exhausted. I feel I run and run and run. I need a break and don’t see one coming in the near future. Blerg. /dd over

Does your mom come to visit with any frequency anymore now that YH is home? I tried to get rid of your video in my quotation, and now I'm just stuck in a box.

vino I’m really sorry you’re feeling overwhelmed. I wish I could pop over and we could watch crappy movies, eat buttery popcorn and drink a cold glass of Sauvignon.

guster No she doesn’t. After really paying attention to it the thing that is bothering me the most is ALWAYS having to talk; I direct or provide commentary, to B because three, for almost every single thing I do. By the end of the day i’m spent. Basically, I want a silent day, or week on the beach with a slushy alcoholic drink in my hand at all times brought to me by a good looking non-speaking pool boy, to myself.

It's mentally exhausting. I even used to feel it after a day of teaching, but I would take about 30 minutes of my 45 minute commute home and ride in silence, but that opportunity doesn't present itself anymore. Hugs (and quiet), lovey!

Is this where I confess that i’m looking forward to going back to work; 30 minute quiet commute with my driver, read public transit, providing stress free door to door travel, and taking personal days to have the quiet house to myself.

I'm eating a brownie. I have no willpower. One of the attorneys goes to lunch with his mistress(we just call her that. He is super shady about it) every other week and he always comes back with a ray of baked goods. I've been dreaming of these damn brownies for awhile now.

vino - yesterday was 'one of those days' and I was just so tired of everything. While preparing dinner for both kids I absentmindedly said 'I need to go away alone.' S looked at me and asked why, so I told him I was exhausted and really needed some quiet time. He said he thought that was a good idea. Then he said 'can I come?' No, kid. I love you. But you are why I need a vacation .

Wtf, slenle. I think I'd snap! Does she treat other friends kids like that? My SIL is always jumping in and diciplining C when I'm right there which drives me insane, but at least she isn't mean to him!

slenle, have you said anything to her? I would not respond well if a friend yelled at my kid. It is one thing to correct them in a nice way, but don't yell, especially when it is something as trivial as ask the 2 year old if you can use his blocks. N clearly misunderstood her when she told her to ask, J's fault, not N. She should have been more clear.

vino I drive home most days in silence, because I know H and E are going to talk my ears off. By the time E goes to bed, I just want to have the TV on and not pay attention to anyone, but H still wants to talk. I make comments all the time about running away from home. Evie looks at me like she might cry when I say it. tgrimes that picture is adorable!

slenle That is kind of odd...I wouldn't discipline someone elses kids in front of the parents, unless they were doing something unsafe and parent wasn't paying attention. For example, one time Smilz came over with her daughters. They were playing in E's room, Smilz and her H were outside and I heard the girls scream. I ran in and saw one of them slap the other and screamed 'what are you doing?' and grabbed the one who had been slapped. I told the slapper that isn't appropriate and took the slappee outside to mom. I told her what happened and she said she heard me and I did just as she would have.

slenle weird, drink up! Plus I kind of agree with tgrimes. Although I’d probably go the passive aggressive route and say something loud to my kid about yelling not being nice or something 🙄.

Haha yes, nam2013 I have made a few passive aggressive comments. But it’s only been 1 day, I don’t think I’ll make it the rest of the weekend like this. I’ll need to say something.
