I have an OB appointment in a couple hours. I know she'll want to check for dilation. I kind of want to decline because I haven't any had any contractions and doubt my cervix is doing anything. Does the cervix dialate without any noticeable contractions? I'm feeling very new right now. How far along are you? Mine told me they won't check without reason before 38 or 39 weeks. Maybe yours will be the same if you aren't that far yet?

And now, another fun round of Am I Leaking. Pregnancy is so gross. I was told to call next time this happened but I really do not want to go to triage to be told it's pee or cervical fluid or something and waste my evening. I'm going to go put our waterproof mattress pad and keep an eye on things. I love you girl, but please follow your doctor's instructions. If you truly have been leaking for a week now, you need to have it checked and make sure your fluid levels are still good and there is no infection. This just doesn't really seem like one of those "wait and see" things if your doctor has specifically said to call or go in.

You can definitely dilate without contractions, but you can also decline the cervical check if you'd rather not have one. Dilation doesn't mean much in isolation.

I took DD to a yoga class at the gym. I'm kind of spent and should have maybe said not tonight, but the mom guilt, I have it hard.

My child just started to walk out into the street without looking. I think I lost ten years off my life. She stopped when I yelled stop to her, but then looked like she was going to run away from me so I ran and picked her up. God damn, kid.
Originally, DH was going to be home "around dinnertime" so when we got home, I took DD for a walk to see the Halloween decorations thinking by the time we got home, he'd be on his way.
NOPE. Now DH won't be home until 7 so I'm on my own for dinner and bedtime. We are having KD, ham, à veggie pouch, and Paw Patrol. I am winning all kinds of parenting awards tonight.

27 minutes of work to go (for today). I am sharing 3 square feet of work space with another human being and training is frustrating and I’m so warm that I’m pretty sure I’m sweating through all of my clothes and I probably stink. Dear lord sweet baby Jesus let these 27 minutes pass quickly and without me fainting.

I win 0% of the parenting awards. I single parent every night since my H works until 8pm. Some days I am surprised we have dinner at all. Also, we had Kraft mac & cheese for dinner last night. No judgement, I mean shit...you added ham and veggies to the dinner! That is a completely balanced dinner in my book.

I'm going to finish cooking and eat dinner first, then I'll give them a jingle.

I know she won't give me any grief if I decline it. I think I get "stage fright" and tend to over think things lol.

I'm cooking at the stove. I can hear DD struggling with something, making her classic "this is hard" grunts of exertion. She makes it to the kitchen. "This is so heavy. I'm trying to give you this, Mommy." I turn around to this. It's a four foot tall inflatable dinosaur punching bag. "Oh, wow. Why did you bring Dolly in here?" "Because she makes you happy!"

We had the shark one from Canadian Tire. It died a sad death.

I totally overdid it yesterday baby wearing dd for 2+ hours in a ring sling with a diaper bag and parenting DS. Then working. I'm sore AF today. My hips are so sore.

I single parent all day too since hubby is on the field from 6am-12-1-2am. Whenever he's done. Today my kids had chicken nuggets for lunch. They are having hot dogs for supper. I threw some cut up peppers and peaches on my daughter's plate. My son won't touch that. But at least one kid will have somewhat balanced supper.

I spent an hour raking leaves with the kids this afternoon. My body is now protesting. But they had fun and stopped fighting for an hour so I call it a win.

This just doesn't really seem like one of those "wait and see" things if your doctor has specifically said to call or go in. Called and let them I had what seemed like a possible leak but that it has since subsided. They left it up to me to come in or not. I chose not. If I'm there for hours and it's nothing and I'm sent home, regardless of time of night or how tired I am, I'm going to have to go into work tomorrow. I only get 27.5 paid days regardless if I use them now or after the baby comes. Any days I burn now is another unpaid day after baby comes. And unfortunately we can only afford for me to be off for about three weeks unpaid right now. My bestie who teaches in my building with me accompanied me to HR today. The lady said to apply for sick leave bank and that medical end will not be a problem for me in terms of being accepted. However, after a few questions about our finances I will likely be denied because I won't be financially needy enough. So while I will apply, I suspect I'll get denied, which means I get only 27.5 paid days off whether I use them before or after this baby comes. I may have cried, so it's a good thing I brought a rational half whose been through this before with me. So I'm just not ready to call things unless I'm certain because it'll either cost me a day of maternity leave or make me exhausted and miserable at work if it's for not.

If they are comfortable with you not going in cnf then I totally understand skipping it to save PTO. I have very little and only get the standard 60% for 6 weeks. The rest is 100% unpaid. I'll be returning to work part-time from home at about 7 or 8 weeks but only about 10 hours a week or so. We just can't afford for me not to work at least some. That sounds too bad about your sick bank but maybe it will end up working out. I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Five year old DD has her first school field trip tomorrow. I'm feeling anxious about it right now. I'm sure it will all be fine and they will have a great time but I'm driving myself crazy thinking of all the what-if's. Ahhh pregnancy hormones making me even crazier 😂

I was also like 95% sure I was leaking then. I wasn't working anymore at that point. I really think being on my feet all day is just making anything in there find it's way out, which is totally gross.

OB was ok with everything. He’s going to have me check my BP at home more frequently and of course if I have any other symptoms to call him and head to the ER. Thanks for the push to talk to him ladies.
