There's a little girl at daycare who is moving to WV and this is her last week. I wanted to pick up something small to give her from DD/DS. She's 2.5 and DS' best buddy. They are moving because the dad is doing his residency there and the mom will be doing the SAHM, WFH part time thing. I was going to have the kids make cards and include our address so they can be 'pen pals'. Our DCP already got her a membership to the childrens museum in the area they will be moving to.
I don't want to spend a ton of money and I have a prime membership so something I can order on Amazon and get by Thursday would be perfect because I'm a slacker. Or something I can grab at Target quick. Her last day is Friday and I completely forgot to pick something up over the weekend.

Does your DS have a favorite book? Books are always my go to gifts for kids.
Eta: posted too soon. You could write in there, or put a sticky note in there something about it being DS favorite book. Or a book about moving? Though 2.5 may be a little young to understand that concept.

We had preschool friends move away and we took some of the photos of the kids together and put them in a little collage in a frame with notes and pictures my kids drew. It was cheap and easy and they loved it.

If they have photos together you could make a small photo album, but that may be a little mature.
I second a favorite book.

My DS has loved these books for years. Once they dry, the pages go white again and you can start all over. There are several different ones. You just fill the little pen with a bit of water and they are good to go. We've even used them on long car trips because they really are not messy at all. Melissa & Doug On the Go Water Wow! That's really sweet that your DCP got them a membership to the children's museum!
Maybe a little care package for the drive/flight to their new home to keep her occupied? Like a book, a small toy (like a car or figurines) and a snack.
