I hope they’re actual contractions *fingers crossed*! At what point can you be moved to a private room? As soon as labor starts? Or do you have to be at a certain point? I’m sorry you’re bored.

Think the BH might be actual contractions. Just quite mild and not painful just very tight and pressure. Still here Baby Bee still in womb Still bored Have they checked you to see if the contractions are doing anything?? I feel you on the boredom, my induction with my first DD was a slowww process

I won't get checked for another 10 hours yet.
I think they are real contractions but just aren't painful enough.
Won't get my own room until I'm in actual established labour (moved to a different ward then)
Would just like to fast forward 16 hours or so

Can you do anything? Or is it like a triage type place? I'm assuming no TV, but what about an iPad with Netflix or something?

You're an inspiration, beefinch . There are no TVs in any of the rooms here and no free wi-fi. It makes for an incredibly long stay.

Good ole U S of A...we’ll charge you thousands of dollars, but damnit there will be television.

Haha yes we have little TV's that can be pulled out of the wall and go in front of us, I have my iPad also.
2am - contractions have pretty much gone since I'm trying to relax to sleep. Because of the girl in the next bed basically labouring.
She only had the pessary in a couple hours before she started getting pains. Now I'm not blaming her age at all as I know we had some teenage mothers, but she's just turned 17 (she had to confirm her date of birth for pain relief) and is just sat panting in her bed demanding to be checked all the time so she know she isn't being a 'drama queen'
The midwives have said your cervix wasn't even open enough to do a sweep when we put the pessary in, basically lie down and try and get some sleep.
Nope she's up pacing up and down in the room turning the light on.
GIRL ITS 2AM and trust me it gets a whole lot worse than this. You can just hear me and the other lady huffing and tossing and turning.
I literally just want to say you need to relax, and just chill out as you are working yourself up into a state

6am - I think I've managed to get maybe 2.5 hours. Lady has relaxed slightly but still heavy breathing.
No contractions or anything, just disappeared. Not holding out much hope for the check at 10:30ish

If my cervix was a person, I would have punched it in the face a while ago.

So I was checked about 2 hours ago.
Nothing. My cervix is still high, DD isn't overly engaged and I'm not even at 1cm
I'm literally about to throw a massive fit. The midwife felt so sorry for me.
So the plan is at 4:15pm I can take out the pessary and then they are going to put a new one in. No time limit as we are now waiting for a room in the labour ward, because it's now 30 hours since I've had the first pessary in, we would have been first in the que at midday but the woman literally opposite me has started contracting every 4 minutes for 4 hours now, so she's in front of me.
They are all first time mums, and I've had the pessary in longer than all of them!!!! Why is my already had a kid cervix not cooperating for fuck sake. And I'm further along than 2 of them, only by a couple days since I'm 37+3 today.
My midwife is lovely so that's the only thing that's keeping me going, as he is keeping me updated on if people jump in the que in front of me (since they are in labour and I'm not)
JUST START DILATING

I’m sorry beefinch. At what point do they just say fuck it with the pessary and start you on pitocin?

Ughhhhh I'm sorry beefinch. The induction part of my labor took dramatically longer with DS2 than with ds1. I get it. You can do it and we are here for you!

I'll get pitocin when I get my own room, and hopefully waters broke. It's now just a waiting game to get a room unfortunately
