To each their own...but asking your husband and doula to suck your nipples to induce labor was a hard no for me. Even thinking about how that now makes me shudder.

I am still having BH. Yes that's all in great but how about you braxton hicks turn into actual contractions. Its average about 1 BH an hour And ladies who have had the pessary before, is it normal for the vag to feel swollen on the inside? My google search tells me that “pessary” would be the Cervadil insertion stateside. You Brits and your fancy words. I had the Cervadil in for like 8 hours (induction started at night) and I went from firm to squishy and barely dilated. I do remember feeling swollen and very sensitive.

Pretty hard as I'm in a shared room of 4 ladies getting induced.... H would not be up for that, and with the swollen vag, it's a no from me

Is your life Call the Midwife? Haha in the U.K. we don't get single rooms unless we are in actual labour. Because I'm being induced and not in labour I'm here until I start contracting (or have to moved to get pitocin) It's fine we all have our own sections with curtains pulled around, and I'm not sociable lol

I googled "pessary", saw pics, and closed the tab because no thank you. beefinch, I take back my previous post. I had Cervidil and it sucked. I had two doses over 27 hours and it did NOTHING - absolutely NOTHING - except make my BH worse. I do recall feeling pretty swollen/sensitive, but I also had a doctor with the world's largest hands shoving that thing up in there, so I assumed it was that. The only upside to Cervidil was that I was allowed to go home for 12 hours at a time.

It was super weird to hear ladies in labour around me last time, heh. We didn't bother taking anything out of any bags until we were moved into a delivery room to do the epidural/water breaking/pitocin drip.

Luckily I'm only going 24 hours with this pessary, and then I will be hooked up to pitocin/waters brake. Not sure which yet. Consultant told me that yesterday. We aren't allowed home with this, so I'm here until basically she's here lol

beefinch, that's what they did with me. Two doses, then epidural/water breaking/pitocin drip. For me, breaking my water was enough to get things going, and they did the pitocin drip because DD was at -3 so nowhere NEAR where she needed to be for labour. I had a baby 1.5 hours after they broke my water!

roloma - based on a quick google search, it seems you are correct on all of that. 10 points for you! Not sure if I should be proud of myself or worried about the spare time on my hands...

Your google was smarter than mine which only returned prolapse uterus stuff. Guess I needed to add UK or something. I’ve only had cytotec and that was to get my uterus to actually contract and stop bleeding after DS2. So no experience with a pre-labor/delivery need.

That's too bad you can't go home between cervadil. They made me go home. Then I may have overreacted a bit on how I was feeling when I got back so they would keep me. Lol

BH are coming every 4/5 minutes and lasting 30/40 secs. They are just very tight and ever so slightly painful, like I can ignore it and still speak etc.
Hhmmm

Lol They tried to send us home after the first dose in the middle of an ice storm at 11 pm. They make you stay for two hours after putting it in, just in case you take to it REALLY quickly, then send you on your way if nothing is happening. MH had never driven in bad winter weather before, had JUST gotten his license a few months prior, and was beside himself thinking of driving home. After much begging, they let us stay in triage overnight but were quick to send us home in the morning.

Tightenings are on and off now.
H has gone home to see DS before he goes to bed, and then will be back up by midday tomorrow (providing I don't go into labour during the night, very unlikely)
Come on cervix

When I was induced I turned it down because I’d never taken one before and didn’t know how I would react. With all the monitors and discomfort I got almost no sleep. Regrets.

Think the BH might be actual contractions. Just quite mild and not painful just very tight and pressure.
Still here
Baby Bee still in womb
Still bored
