addymac I swear by Butt Paste. I use the extra strength kind and it usually clears up a diaper rash within a day or 2.

addymac, I'm glad he had a good first stretch at least. That helps. Fwiw, J started having a good first stretch then would wake up every hour after that for about 2 weeks. Then the last week we have had a 4 hour stretch followed by a 2.5 or 3 hour stretch then every hour so there is hope. I hate the up every hour it makes me exhausted. J is sooooo fussy today. He is having a rough one hopefully it's just his leap. He doesn't want to be put down and is crying a lot. And DH isn't here all morning.

I know I'm harping on this but the bane of my existence is the time between feeding and nap. Do your babies just sit on you happily or do you actively play with them the whole time they are up? I usually feed, hold on my lap for a while until he gets squirmy then try an activity but activities at this age are limited. Thoughts?
We do tummy time, piano gtm, lay in the crib , walk around, lay o a blanket but these activities take.like 10 minutes and he is still up then what????

king26 I wish I knew the correct answer on your question.. it is something I am trying to figure out as well. Usually during daytime she takes a powernap on my lap after eating (anywhere between 2 to 10 minutes? I wish she wouldnt but sometimes I cant help it) then sits on my lap for a while, she gets some playmat time (anywhere between 5 to 30 minutes, depending on how long she is entertained by it), try the bassinet, walk around some, try the bassinet again (or see if she will nap with MH if he is home from work), walk around some more, try get her to nap... rinse repeat till next feeding. Tho lately I have let her nap on me after feeding as it s the only way she will sleep during the day...? We go for walks woth the stroller and she will sleep while outside but most often wakes soon after coming home. she may sleep for a little while around dinnertime but may just as well not. Evenings she clusterfeeds till bedtime so tis boob, lay with me or daddy, boob, walk around, boob, try the bassinet, boob, rinse repeat till she is out on the boon somewhere between 10-12 and she sleeps on after being put in her bassinet. She used to fall asleep on the boob after MOTN feeds but hasnt those past days so then I walk around and try rock her to sleep..not my favorite thing MOTN! Today we had family over for MHs bday and she napped on my dad for like an hour. Just like a few weeks ago when he visited ๐ I wish i could borrow him more often!

Good news: P napped for 30 minutes in the RnP!
Bad news: I had to throw her in there after DS pooped in his pull-up during nap time and smeared it EVERYWHERE ๐ก๐ก๐ญ

Ahh maybe I jinxed myself.. 30 minutes orso lager she woke up screaming louder then she ever has. But I did get 5h of sleep so yay!
Poor D I think her tummy is what is upsetting her. She is farting like a pro and I can hear her intestines rumble and bubble pretty loudly. Just hoping it will be farts and no poopsplotion cause I prefer those not to happen at MOTN feeds (tho technically after 6am is no longer MOTN lol but feels like it and tis dark still so๐)

muscari, I hope D's stomach settles. M slept almost 6 hours tonight. She sleeps so much better on the weekends when my is here. He is actually giving her a bottle now so that I can just pump and go back to sleep. It is so much easier when he is here as opposed to when I'm solo. I wonder if M can pick up on the fact that I'm less stressed when he is here and that is why she sleeps better? addymac, sorry about N's diaper rash. As PPs have already suggested Dr. Boudreauxs butt paste is the best. I actually use the original every night to prevent her getting a diaper rash. I just put a thick layer on before she goes to bed for the night (lol to that, I should say before we start our marathon nightly power nap sessions). So far it's worked great.

Whatโs the best way to get rid of the smell of smoke? My FIL was here this weekend and he stayed in Ns room and it reeks of smoke now, as does everything N wore (im just going to wash every item of clothing and blanket multiple times) but all his stuff smells- so now the room just reeks, as does our couch and general living room area ๐
Iโm so fucking cranky. It doesnโt help that today DH works til at least 10pm and N was up 3 tines and now is wide awake since 5am. And I need to do a massive clean to get the stench out and prepare for DHs aunt that arrives on Tuesday morning. At 730am. At the airport farther away from us. Sigh.

Yuck addymac do you have yankee candles ? No! But Iโm thinking Iโm going to go buy some at Rosa/Marshallโs/TJ Maxx to help. Ughhhh my FIL even draped all his clothes over the side of the crib so now I need to wash all his crib stuff too. I was probably going to anyway, but ugh. I hope the smell doesnโt get into the crib wood. I might be being a bit extra but Iโm so annoyed.

addymac ugh! My mum swears by vinegar in small bowls - I never tried myself as the scent of vinegar makes me retch lol so I can't attest to whether it works or not. Apart from that letting the room air out really well.. imho candles mostly mask the stink rather then make it go away. That said there actually is a anti tabacco yankee candle I believe! Worth trying? MH smokes but as soon as we knew i was pregnant he quit smoking inside the house. It makes such a difference, ahh I love the nonsmelly clothes etc. Next time you have a visitor r guest that smokes I would direct them to do so outside. Your home your health your nonstinky everything your rules. Tho I guess with your FIL that would also have to be subscribed by YH esp if you expect grumpiness from the smoker in question.

Random random. I don't get why so many nursing tops are ALSO maternity ones, 2 in 1 kind of shirts. While pg I wanted the extra room for my bump but had zero use for nursing openings.. now I do want the easy boob access but don't need the extra fabric and find it doesnt necessarily look good either!?
I did find a really comfortable nursing bra, thanks to my sister. Things like that are simple and small but make such a difference!

Iโll try the vinegar! He actually didnโt smoke inside- we wouldnโt allow that but he didnโt even try, luckily. It was just that his clothes and suitcase etc smelled so strongly- when he first held N, N sneezed and coughed for about half an hour straight nonstop. Iโm 100% convinced itโs Bc of the smell bc heโs never done that before and we are not around smokers usually.

R has thrown up twice today, but overall seems very pleasant. I think we are coming out of the fussy phase of the second leap. Sheโs making different vocalizations. I also washed all the six month clothing and tried on my favorite outfit of Tโs. It fit R - it was a little loose, but I think sheโs moving from 3m to 6m. Itโs crazy.

I had a good day today. I went out for 2 hours and didntbworry about DH and j at all. I also put j in the carrier and carried him around while u baked today which made me feel like myself . I used to bake every weekend.
J has been a little fussier in this leap and definitely eating more then normal and is not patient when I gave to add an ounce. He had 1 really fussy day but otherwise it's been hit or miss. Not looking forward to our shots on wednesday
How long are your LO awake in between naps? I've read up to 1.5 hours, 2 hours, or 2.5 hours. If I don't get j down by 2 hours it's a disaster.

I've read up to 1.5 hours, 2 hours, or 2.5 hours. If I don't get j down by 2 hours it's a disaster. It really depends. Sometimes he goes too long and I think gets overtired and itโs a disaster. Today he was up from 440-615am, then up again at 830, back down at 915 (just needed a snack apparently), up from 10:30-12:45, then again from 15:15-17:30 - so heโs been good at staying awake for 1.5-2ish hours. But there are days like yesterday where he was awake from 2p until 7ish and took like two 10min catnaps and then was a total beast from 5-7 but hey clearly my FIL was right - as he cried on and off those two hours he kept saying to him โaw stop faking it- youโre fine. Relax.โ ๐๐ค๐
