I thought this was cool: nycitylens.com/2018/03/new-vegan-eatery-diners-pay-can-afford/A healthfood/ vegan cafe opens this week in Bushwick, Brooklyn (hipster/ gentrification central), which wouldn't be news or cool, except it's black-owned and has sliding scale prices so that people who have historically been priced out of the community can actually afford to eat there.

I don't know how many of you share my love of bad Hallmark movies, especially the Christmas ones, but if any of you saw the so-bad-its-amazing "A Christmas Prince" on Netflix, it's getting a sequel:
Hey, there isn't much to be happy about today, so I'll take what I can get.

I know I don’t hang here much anymore, but I’m going to bump the good news thread. The Thai government granted citizenship to the 4 stateless members of the soccer team that was rescued from the cave last month. This is a huge deal for these kids/the coach, and it will drastically improve their opportunities in the future (education, travel, government/health benefits). I am so happy the Thai government did the right thing here. Below pic makes me so happy: www.nationmultimedia.com/detail/national/30351752

Didn't I see somewhere that the coach is staying at a monastery?

Didn't I see somewhere that the coach is staying at a monastery? Ah - so all of the kids and the coach became monks for a bit once they got out of the hospital. It’s pretty normal for most Thai men to temporarily become a monk after experiencing something traumatic, or to grieve...or sometimes just to re-focus. So, all of them shaved their heads and wore the saffron robes for a while, and they lived at the monastery while doing so. The kids did it for 2 weeks I think, and the coach has elected to do it a little longer. It’s not something permanent though. Just a cultural thing over here! Thanks for asking!

Wow, thats pretty interesting and something I did not know. Thank you! I know this is going to impact everyone for the rest of their lives but I think the coach probably knew more what was on the line. I hope he finds his peace.

To continue to add to my crush on Duchess Megan. She has come together with the survivors of Grenfell Tower and joined the community to support a cookbook made by women of the tower from all walks of life. Meghan Markle's first solo project as a royal

Meghan Markle's first solo project as a royal I’m obsessed with her and just love, love, love this. When I was taking a break I still lurked the royals thread regularly.

My wife wonders what is wrong with me :/
