I figured since there are probably more sleep deprived and insomniatic new moms and pregnants around, I'd kick off the randoms early today! I just received great news from the hospital - the second round of DS' TB testing also came back negative! Knowing that DH and DS both passed their 2nd tests is such a relief! Other than that happy news, just hanging out...finishing up work stuff...waiting for the baby to show up...feeling like my bump size has reached its limit and can't possibly get any larger...😅😁

So so relieved to hear the neg results for both DH and DS. That whole situation just sucks. Such unnecessary stress. I'm like still mad about it for you and it's just nonsense coming from an educated individual whom should know better 😡 I'm glad and so impressed that you're capable of handling it all so well.

cythe, I've been thinking of you. Happy to know your mom will be with you during your pp recovery. It sucks not having a support person during labor but if the nursing staff knows this, they'll especially be there for you. My experiences with the nurses has been really great and this time around hubs was basically not with me about 50% of the time post op and the nurses were incredibly kind and kept on checking with me and baby and watched over him so I could shovel my meals down. Also pp support imo is so much more important esp. with you being a FTM so really glad you will have your mom. Big hugs! You rock and you got this 💪

Oh, looky there it's 6 am and in what seems to be my new normal, I'm awake. At least I was able to fall asleep at about midnight last night - as opposed to 2 am the night before. duskymonkey you're right. I was so focused on laboring alone for so long, and obviously very emotional about my husband leaving. I mean, I lost it over a bowl of cereal when he sent me a last text as they were pulling out about how he couldn't wait to meet our daughter. Cue tears streaming down my face into my cereal and everything. But now that it's done - it is what it is - I'm just ready for her to be here. I'm not afraid of labor, I'm not afraid of doing it alone, I know the nursing staff will get me through it. It's not perfect and definitely not what I would have picked for myself but it's going to get me a baby at the end of the day If she ever comes out. YOU CAN'T STAY IN THERE FOREVER BABY.

Stuck on toddler door duty again. I went to labor and delivery last night because contractions were getting stronger with lots of pressure and were averaging about 6 minutes apart for 3 hours. As soon as we got to the exam room they slowed way down, and i was only a fingertip dilated, so we came back home. The same thing happened to me on a Wednesday with DS1 and he was born that Saturday, so fx.

Taitai I think I told you i was happy that your DS's test came back negative the other day, which it seems was your H's. Whoops. I'm glad they're BOTH negative, that must be a huge relief for everyone!

I'm glad they're BOTH negative, that must be a huge relief for everyone! No worries! All these tests are hard to keep track of, even for me. As long as they keep coming back negative, I'm a happy camper. I think you have a really good attitude for the situation you are in - that has got to be hard and you are one strong lady. I would have lost it reading that text too. Hoping baby cythe arrives soon!!

It’s almost 4am and of course I’m awake because I can’t seem to get comfortable... I also can’t breathe out of my left nostril. So many fires in my area and it’s making the air super smoky.
Started feeling some contractions and of course they stop when I’m about to start timing them.... I found all the early contractions from when I was in labor with DD on my pregnancy app, cue all the feels... I took screenshots in case I need to delete when I start tracking sequel’s. I’m afraid it’ll mess up the averages or something...

Couldn't sleep last night, and DS was up at 4:30 for some reason. Hopefully being extra tired will make it easier to get a great night of sleep tonight. HA!
Nervous about my induction tomorrow morning-the internet is full of peoples bad experiences. I know that they are doing pitocin, since my body is basically ready but not starting things on its own. Anyone have really good induction experiences?
So excited to meet my baby though.

Taitai Yay for another negative test! mommabakes I had an induction with DD using pitocin. They broke my water and once the contractions kicked in, it was 12 hours of active labor before DD was born. I was 1 cm dialated and fully effaced when they decided to induce. Get the epidural, pitocin contractions can come on quick and hard since they are constantly upping the dose until things happen. Good luck and try to get some rest today!

The girls in my yoga class seemed optimistic that I wouldn't make it until next week. I was cramping a lot from the membrane sweep so I didn't really fully get into a lot of the poses. It was still a good class, the teacher did a really nice meditation with a motherhood theme. I'm cautiously optimistic, the baby has to come out eventually, I'm 38 weeks so it's really only a matter of time but I'm getting excited to meet this baby!

I have no practical experience, but I have heard if your body is ready and just needs a swift kick then induction can be really smooth. I'm so excited for more babies!

Nervous about my induction tomorrow morning-the internet is full of peoples bad experiences. I know that they are doing pitocin, since my body is basically ready but not starting things on its own. Anyone have really good induction experiences? So excited to meet my baby though. i have had 2 good induction experiences. One with pitocin and one without. My without pitocin was at 37wks with ds1. I progressed fine with just cervix dilation and softening. I did get an epi, but at the last second, so it didn't matter much. My with pitocin delivery was this baby. I progressed to 6 with cervix softener and dilation and breaking (or trying to) my water. I didn't get past that, so they started pitocin. I was already having contractions. So I didn't really notice a huge difference. I think they only turned it up twice. This baby was my med free delivery (except for some medicine for my migraine at some point). I just kept breathing through the contractions. Once they started to get painful, I started counting my breaths. It started out a contraction was 4 breaths. Then 5. Then 7. Then 9. And at 11, I couldn't keep breathing and the pressure and external vaginal/rectal pain was too much. I requested an epi...but at that point, it was too late. The baby was born before anesthesia got there. Lol! They walked in to the room moments after he was born!! OOPS. All that to say, you can do this! I don't really remember a difference between the two contractions. I never had back labor or anything like that. I was bed bound with both deliveries. One word of advice? Use the peanut ball. You will hate every second and think you are about to die....but that is what pushed ds2 from manageable contractions to OH MY GOSH IM DYING. You got this!!

mommabakes I had an AMAZING induction experience with DS. I honestly expected an awful experience and for it not to work but was so surprised and elated at how well it went. I also had an epidural from the get go so I’m sure that helped with the pitocin side of things. I had contractions off and on all day yesterday, nothing to get excited about or time but I’ll be interested to see if they progressed me any further at my appt. tomorrow. After asking here and on my S15 board group, I’m holding off on the sweep for one more week. It would be awesome if that method induced me instead of going the more medical route this time but like I said above, I had a great induction last time so not going to stress about it. I also want baby to still cook a little longer.

Does anyone else's pets feel entitled to their pregnancy pillows? My spoiled rotten cat thinks my body pillow was put on this earth specifically for his butt. It doesn't even matter if you're using it, he helps himself. I'm including photographic evidence of the amount of fucks he gives about whose pillow this is. The raised blob further down the bed behind him is my damn leg.

Carryover from yesterday but DS2s puke was a fluke!!! He didn’t puke again and he’s not sick in any other way. I gave him whole penne noodles for dinner and I’m thinking they were too big and he wasn’t chewing enough. I still need to cut those up.
I’m so relieved. Wasn’t prepared to have a stomach virus take us down for days.

We had a pillow shortage after we moved and my H didn’t have one. He reached for my cats pillow and without even thinking I was like no, that’s cat’s name’s pillow, you can’t take that one. He still brings it up.

I'm still dying. If this fever and headache would go away, I could function....
Ds2 has his circ this morning. I wasn't thinking and had planned on bringing ds1. I realized that may be a bad idea. So I scheduled some last minute childcare for him.

So, apparently today is my last day at work. My fault though. I entered on the form that my leave will start 10/13. I must have meant at the end of the day? Anyway, I'll probably come in for a half day tomorrow.

I think I'll do a little straightening up before my Dr's appt this afternoon. I'm planning to ask what they'll do induce this time. Last time they basically broke my water and started pitocin at the same time. I'd like to try and avoid pit if possible, but we'll see. mommabakes wth that said, last time I checked in at 11:30 and he was born at 6:40, not even 12 hours later. I got an epidural around 2 or so. The contractions were ok, and then suddenly they weren't. maybe I'm just a wimp, ha. Luckily the anesthesiologist got there fairly quickly. The reason I don't want the pitocin is because he did briefly go into distress and they kept turning it down and up while pushing. That and the epi made it hard to tell if I was even pushing right. I pushed for 1.5 hours! Though that could be a number of factors, so who knows. However, if it's better and safer to use the pitocin, then so be it. I ultimately care about getting him here safely.

I have an appointment today at the OB for a blood pressure check. I'm almost certain they'll recommend induction again and I'm not sure how I feel about that yet...
In other news, there were three, tiny pin drops of blood on the TP last night and my first thought was mucus plug, yay! But nothing yet this morning...

Baby had his worst night yet last night. After screaming for 2.5 hours while trying to get him down, he slept for 1 hour and woke up at 12:30 screaming again. Literally nothing I could do seemed to help. So that caused a mom meltdown at 1am and H had to step in. Ugh. I forgot how tough the newborn stage can be sometimes. I'm already looking forward to a glass of wine tonight.
