Baby had his worst night yet last night. After screaming for 2.5 hours while trying to get him down, he slept for 1 hour and woke up at 12:30 screaming again. Literally nothing I could do seemed to help. So that caused a mom meltdown at 1am and H had to step in. Ugh. I forgot how tough the newborn stage can be sometimes. I'm already looking forward to a glass of wine tonight. Sounds like you and mkrupar both had rough ones last night. Come on little boys get it together! These nights are soooo awful. Hoping you can get a good nap in today. Come back tonight and tell me about your wine.

Just a normal day here - DD1 is so excited for hat day at daycare tomorrow so at some point in need to find her hat because I’m sure I packed it up with her summer stuff already 😬
DD2 is just nursing and sleeping her days away. The jaundice makes her a sleepy nurser so she spends most of her time stripped down to her diaper so we can get full feeds in her. I can’t tell if her coloring is improving or not (still cloudy and rainy here) so just hoping all this nursing is doing something.

Well after telling DH that I didn't want the in-laws to see DS today (it's NEVER just a quick visit), he said that he'd bring him over for an hour or so after school. WTF. I wanted a nice relaxing last evening with just my 2 guys before adding another guy.
I don't think I'm asking too much, especially when I'm about to push a baby out of my body tomorrow.
Who wants to help hide a body?

The more they eat, the more they process, the more they poop, the faster the jaundice fades. BM is the best for clearing jaundice.

Baby doodle is here and it’s a boy!!! Charlie William was born at 3:21am at 40+5, 9 lbs 1 oz, 23 inches long, head is 91%ile! Labour was 4.5 hours from first contraction to baby out, shocking compared to the 39 hours with DD! Got the birth centre water birth I wanted and was home again by 6:45am just before DD woke up, birth experience of my dreams. He is content and nursing like a champ when he’s not snoozing. DD is thrilled with her baby brother

Yay doodlemommy! So glad he’s here safely 💙🍾 To everyone: every baby deserves their own thread. Don’t be shy if you are comfortable with the attention. I know some are not.

Stupid question since I've never gone into labor on my own... can contractions feel almost like they are taking your breath away? I'm not getting a strong squeezing feeling but am feeling uncomfortable and like my breath is being taken away.

Congratulations doodlemommy! Bilirubin levels from yesterday came back elevated (14) but not as high as the pedi thought they might be based on his yellowness (he expected around 17) so that's good! We went back this morning for another draw, and if the levels haven't risen too much since yesterday we should be in the clear. He had lost a lb since birth but was up 2.5oz from yesterday to today so it seems his weight is trending in the right direction too!

I remember being told that last time - it's like you have to stop and it takes your breath away.

Bilirubin levels went from 14.6 yesterday to 14.9 today, so pedi says that J's levels have peaked and we don't need to worry about any special treatments. Yay! <3

My sister left today, and I'm a bag of mixed emotions. Those of you with loved ones far away know it means you generally get these concentrated doses of family, which can be both a blessing and a curse...I was getting tired of her being moody and tired, but I still lost it when I brought her to the airport. Plus she did help with both girls, though DD1 may now be addicted to snapchat filters.
I get to go back and pick up my aunt in an hour, last time it felt like the closest thing to having my mom here, so I'm really looking forward to her visit.
DD2 is doing well, we had a weight check yesterday and she is up to 9lbs (was 9.2 at birth), so we no longer need to wake her to eat. So far she is rewarding us with shorter stretches of sleep, haha. Still, it's nice to not have to set an alarm.

I understand how hard those times are, but I'm glad they can come to be with you for some time right now. I hope you're doing okay.

seventythree I'm sorry it was an emotional day today. I'm always a mess when I say goodbye to my mom at the airport. Funny how they can get annoying (especially being in our houses) and it still hurt so much to say goodbye.

arimaythea good news! thatgirlrachel They were doing that once they really got going. This was my second experience with prodomal labor. After a couple of hours of mild but tolerable contractions I had a few intense ones close together and then nothing. I'm exhausted, for those of you experiencing this every day, you must be beyond tired. I also lost my mucus plug today, that was gross. I also lost my ring that my H got for our 5 year wedding anniversary. It was not cheap, I was supposed to add it to our house insurance but never got around to it. I feel terrible and I've looked all over the house and asked the daycare see if anyone found it. No sign of it. I'm done with today, early to bed for me.

Well instead of wine I opted for a Best Damn Cream Soda. And it is just what this momma needed. 👌🏻 Currently doing bath time with the big while enjoying my drink.

seventythree I say goodbye to my grandma tomorrow and, while I’m looking forward to having it just be our family of 4, I will probably be a hot mess when she leaves. She has been a huge help so add that my already crashing hormones and tomorrow won’t be pretty for me. August Blooms sorry about the ring
