Ok so I have exactly two: eculyptus for the toilet and lavender for the dryer.
What do you use and for what?
I would like my laundry to smell fresh and clean. Would citrus be a better choice?

I love Eden's Garden EO's. I use lavender on my wool dryer balls, lemon to clean my microwave and dishwasher, and I make a lip scrub with sugar in the raw, coconut oil and grapefruit EO. I also use eucalyptus in the bath and mixed with lavender in my bedroom diffuser.
Eden's garden also has a bunch of great blends that are already mixed too, and they ship super quick.

I use Young Living and have lots.
I cannot live without my allergy rollerball I made with lemon, lavender, and peppermint.
I also diffuse different oils depending on my mood. I love citrus ones for a good pick me up.
I have a sleepytime rollerball I made with lavender, vetiver, cedar wood, and copiaba. I sleep like I baby when I remember to roll this on the bottom of my feet. Sometimes I diffuse a blend called peace and calming at night to unwind.

Eucalyptus and/or lavender in the bath. Those, or peppermint in my diffuser.

I use lavender mixed with baking soda to deodorize carpets and mattresses. I use lemon or orange when I clean, especially my fridge and the inside of my dishwasher. I use almond oil (mixed with olive oil)for face wash. Eucalyptus obvs in the humidifier for colds.

What brand does everyone use? Do I order via distributor or online? I would like to get into EO slightly but I have no clue how.

I mostly use plant therapy because they sell it on amazon and I get my whole life on amazon. I have a rando brand here and there from target and Whole Foods.

Or what? Yup. I actually have an empty sprinkles canister, and it works perfectly. Lavender works well because it deodorizes and smells awesome. I sprinkle it on the carpet, let it set for about an hour, then vacuum.

I use Plant Therapy.
Peppermint is my #1 go to. It's great when you're congested and it's also great at keeping bugs/spiders away. Mix peppermint and water in a spray bottle and spray around your door frames. We've also had ants in our place and spray some on them and they like freeze or run in the opposite direction and then don't really come back.
I also like Plant Therapy's headache relief roll on.
They also have a kid safe line which is awesome too.

I've used Young Living and Doterra and I like the feel of Doterra better but use both. I use Joy from YL on myself, especially when stressed. I use a calming blend when my kids are acting a fool, it's got lavender, mint and orange in it. I also had a friend make up a eucalyptus bug spray but I'm not sure it's safe for pregnants so I'm going to double check with my doctor tomorrow. Thieves oil on feet for when we feel sickness coming on. Those are our regulars.

Can someone tell me what they use as a diffuser? I would like my house to smell nice but I don't want to talk to MLM people so I have been avoiding buying one.

We got our second from a YL salesperson. She isn't pushy and never tries to sell us anything but will place an order and sell to us at wholesale. Maybe you can find a rep like ours!

Aren't the YL diffusers like $250? All the YL posts I see seem to insinuate I'm poisoning my kid by not treating him with oils for all the things. So I'm kinda not into giving them money.

Buy a cheap one on Amazon and don't you dare be suckered into anything more elaborate. I'm thinking like you. Do you have any you recommend?

Our Amazon one looks almost identical to the YL one and I'm thinking was around $40. I can't tell any difference in them so check out Amazon.

If I was going to start EO for the first time, what oils do I need?
I would like two diffusers, one for the living area and one for DS room.

I just want pretty smells, I like mints, citrus and non floral herbs. Be sure to google safety for kids/pets. Really just smells. I am not totally on board with them curing everything in life. Something menthol-y would be nice because DS is always so congested? Is that eucalyptus?

Pine/spruce/fur are better choices for kids over 2. No rosemary either. No peppermint under the age of 6.

I am falling into a Google spiral.

See, this is what bothers me about EO, & why I just haven't been able to get on board with them yet, is because there is no real, consistent guidelines for safety with kids. I have a friend who sells them & uses them for everything, including on her young toddlers. I just feel like since there's not a real guideline/party line on this I would have no idea what is actually safe.

Our family friend is a doterra distributor and has also been a nurse for years & I know she does her research on things. So I always ask her opinion on what is safe as far as oils with kids (she is also a mom too). Not saying all nurses or doctors will be smart about it but if you can find someone you trust who has a background like that, I think that's better than just taking the word of Joe Schmoe who signed up to sell oils.

Oooooh I'm totally stealing the allergy rollerball idea! I need this desperately.
I diffuse peace and calming, as well as chamomile, around the house and use a peppermint rollerball for headaches.
Definitely get a cheapo diffuser!!! They all work the same.

Also, always make sure you buy and store your oils in dark bottles. The sun can affect how they work.
