Have you or are you getting your flu shot? I planned to go Tuesday before getting my bfp yesterday and now I’m questioning whether it’s a good idea. Will call my OB tomorrow but am curious what others are doing.

Yes, I got one with DD and I got mine last week. The flu can be really dangerous when you're pregnant, according to my OB last time around.

I guess I wasn’t sure about timing. I had one with Cameron and I always get them but being so early in pregnancy didn’t know if it was a good idea.

I haven’t heard any advice personally about when in the pregnancy is best. I think it’s always a good idea. But worth a question. Let us know if they recommend anything timing wise.

I’m definitely getting my flu shot. My school does a clinic in October.
Last pregnancy I got it at 6 weeks, because that’s how far I was when the clinic happened. I’m going to get it as soon as possible this time around.

I'm hoping I can find one I'm able to take. I have an appointment on Tuesday with my OB office. I see the NP and will be asking if they offer it. If not, I get to call around to every damn pharmacy to see which one has the thimerisol free one (I'm allergic to it). Last year they used them all up during flu shot clinics (and I stay at home) and didn't get more in until late November.

I'm hoping they have it at my OB and I'll just add it into my deluge of other things happening at that appointment. If not, I'll probably get it at the grocery store while shopping in the next couple weeks. I teach at two schools and don't take risks with that especially being in a new building this year. I got the shot early on when pregnant with DS and remember my OB asking if I'd had it done at my first appointment. I should probably schedule a shot for DS, too. *Adds to calendar*

I'm getting mine at work on Tuesday. I asked my clinic if they cared when I got it, and they did not.

I get one every year. I think the clinic at work opens next week, then to the public later this month. Flu shots for everyone!

I'll be getting it ASAP, and asking DH to get one too. I'm hoping that I can get it at my first appointment, if not I'll get it at the pharmacy.

I got mine at my appointment (8 weeks). I'm required to get one for work, but even if I weren't, no way would I want to suffer with the flu on top of morning sickness and all that other shit.

I already got mine. They don’t give you a live virus version. It’s perfectly safe for baby.

I'll be asking about this at my first OB appt in 2 weeks (I forgot to ask at my confirmation appt Friday). But yes, i will definitely be getting one. Which reminds me, I have to get DD one as well.

They were doing a clinic at work the day I got my squinter, so I asked for the thimerosal free one.

The flu season here this winter was terrible. Dozens of young healthy people died. And loads who got vaccinated still got it. Myself included. I got Influenza A when I was 5 weeks pregnant. It suuuucked! The point of my story is actually that early in the year coming into winter I asked my dr if I should get DD vaccinated. I was told unless she’s immunosuppressed it’s overkill. Knowing what I know now after the horror season, I will definitely be getting DD vaccinated and it’s so not overkill!! Stupid dr. Moved areas now so won’t be back but annoyed at the bad advice.

My mom gave me mine yesterday! Perks of a nurse for a mom lol. I think it’s SO important to protect yourself. The flu is serious stuff!
