We went to a benefit tonight for a friend with Leukemia. It was in a neighboring small town. I’m amazed at the generosity of others. There was at least 700 people there. The auction brought so much. There were baked goods going for $200+ in the auction. MH made a donation from his business but S and I left before it was auctioned because S had a pretty big seizure. So I don’t know what it brought yet. People are paying double retail for things but are happy to do it for a good cause. Glad the auction was such a success. I'm so sorry to hear about S's seizure--hope she is feeling better tomorrow.

Went for $400!

Hi! Today was pretty busy. We started A on cereal this morning (!!!) And she then took a 3 hour nap! So im thinking she's been hungry.... It was nice to hang with L without baby distractions. Then i got one on one time with A while DH and L washed the cars, and we all went out to buy L a mattress for his full size bed and do a Target run. Just finished folding some laundry and plan on relaxing with wine the rest of the night. Re naps: L still naps during the week at dc...is this weird? I don't bother on the weekends but he sometimes falls asleep in the car if we're out. M still naps at daycare. My M does too. Sometimes on the weekends.

If I hadn’t done that she would probably still nap every day. She does take them occasionally.

Dude could definitely still use a nap on weekends but since he and X share a room now it doesn't work out most of the time because X is still in the middle of his nap when I would need to put A down for his. There's no prayer of sneaking him in quietly and getting him to lie down without waking up his brother.
X's cough is pitiful. Dude was all lethargic and infernal before bed. He kept telling us to help X because he's so sick. Sorry, bud. Ventolin, QVar, pulmicort, Zyrtec, Flonase, Tylenol, and Ibuprofen. He's a walking pharmacy. Not much else we can do.

H was not very cooperative at the pumpkin patch today. She still had fun, but I didn’t get many pictures.

Did I ever tell you guys that my neighbor is trolling me? She’s a single woman in her late 40s/early 50s with two young adult daughters living with her. Within about 6 months of her moving into her house she got a little white dog. The dog has my first name. Coincidence? I think not.

He might lie down for a short period but he can't settle down enough to fall asleep.

wedding Does C have croup? Z has "a croupy cough" according to the dr. Not bad enough for a steroid medication. She sounds like she lost her voice and mostly coughs around bedtime. They didn't say much on what I can do to help her. Anyone have any tips?

Hope the boys feel better, cagoldi. lfig, fun! I love when a community pulls together. I hope S is alright. Is this the first seizure she's had in public (outside of DC and home). I imagine that would be pretty scary.

My sister’s kids get croup a lot and she says the cold air helps, so if it’s cool outside take her out there for a little bit so she can breathe it in.

Blast of cold air (good luck finding that with the weather we've had lately), steamy bathroom, Motrin to lessen the inflammation. Poor Z!

They're funny to look at now. It was bad enough that I didn’t even attempt a picture with us. She was mad because she wanted to climb on the tractor but the sign said it wasn’t allowed. So she pouted. PDQ

Hi all! Busy day here today! Soccer all day again. It was hot today and I and need up getting overheated/dizzy when I was coaching rylands and had to sit on the sidelines. All the little kids were concerned and it was very sweet. Then we went appliance shopping again. Shoot me. I feel like the guy because I want the fancy ones with all the bells and whistles and Shaun just wants to save money and get basic stuff. I think we found a way to meet in the middle, but I’m salty I’m not getting the more expensive fridge I want. Hope all the sick kids feel better! kim22 how did the glucose test go?

C stole my side of the bed while I was up getting a drink and then just as I was falling asleep in his bed L woke up. I can tell MH is going to be super hungover and useless in the morning and I'm already annoyed. Normally I wouldn't care, but with C and I both sick it's going to get old quickly.

They didn't say much on what I can do to help her. Anyone have any tips? Yes. They wouldn't give him the steroid either and said the worst should last about three days but the cough could linger up to two weeks. They recommended cold mist humidifier, ibprofren, zarbees cough syrup, and saline/suction if needed. The humidifier helps a lot and the cough meds have helped more than I thought they would. I also propped his pillows a bit so he is more angled and that's helped him fall asleep. It's sucks though and the breathing is scary. They said if I heard whistling when he breathed to call right away. I've heard it twice but it's gone away quickly.

The test itself was fine but all day after I was super thirsty and nauseous. I don't remember that before so I figured I'm going to fail but a google search had a lot of people saying they felt that way and they passed. Just in case, I'm going to bake the apple pie I have been meaning to bake and eat most of it today.
