So my sister wants a storybook theme shower and I've found some cute things on Pinterest.
I need book suggestions now. Here are things I'm thinking of but I don't want to miss classic books either.
So far: Cloudy with a chance of meatballs: next to our pot of meatballs Are you my mother: next to the baby picture board Green eggs and ham next to the devil eggs and sandwich platter To much junk food on the desert table Peter rabbit next to the veggies Hungry hungry caterpillar next to fruit
I'm thinking we could do more books on the tables too
Favors will be bookmarks

We did this theme for my sil last year!
Three little pigs - ham and cheese rolls If you give a mouse a cookie - cookie platter Very hungry caterpillar - fruit tray
We also did books and a snack for the guest tables.
Good night construction site - dump truck with mini Oreos Red fish, blue fish - goldfish in fish tank type bowl
I think I havr a list on my computer. Next time I am on, I will add to the list.

We also printed off coloring sheets of every letter of the alphabet. We had people color and sign each page and we made it in to a book to give her later.

Not sure if you are into games but I did a similar theme a few years ago for my SIL and people had to guess famous books titles from the first line of the story.

My friend did this for me.
We had Fish out of water next to the water Pinkalious next to a pink punch The stinky cheese man next to the cheese and crackers The very hungry caterpillar next to the fruit If you give a cat a cupcake next to the cupcakes Peter rabbit next to the veggies Blueberries for sal next to blueberry doughnuts (a huge craving) Green eggs and ham Cloudy with a chance of meatballs
She also found a story book trivia game. She found a super hard one because we were mostly elementary teachers. The non teachers had a hard time with it.

My sister also did this storybook intro thing on a chalkboard at the entrance. We also had an adorable hungry caterpillar cupcake/cake. Let me see if I can find pictures.

I love this theme! The only thing I can think of that hasn't been mentioned is the following:
-May I Please Have a Cookie, next to a tray of cookies
Edit - just saw if you give a mouse a cookie was already mentioned.

My sil had a twinkle twinkle little star theme. There were cupcakes with star toppers, I think she called them shooting star cupcakes or something similar. She decorated with various star books and twinkly led lights.

When my friend planned my shower, one thing she did which was cute was she added a note in the invite to suggest to people that instead of bringing a card, they bring a book. I love having the books from my friends and family with the inscriptions written to my baby.
Most greeting cards cost $3-4 and you can find books in the dollar section at Target or at the dollar store and there are tons of paperbacks or board books for a few bucks on Amazon.

OMG. I'm really stupid.
My friend did this for my shower for DD. It never once occurred to me that the books had any correlation to the food, but looking back on it... yep. I thought it was all just meant to be cutesy decorations...
I assume that since your sister is the one suggesting the theme you won't need to explain it to her. And that she's not dumb.
