Errands, food, errands. Gotta go put gas in my car in case labor happens to come upon us or so we can move my car to the hospital this weekend in preparation for my H leaving. I figure that's the easiest way for us to do things, as long as the hospital doesn't tow my car, haha.
On the labor front, I'm going with reverse psychology today. H is back to work after taking his special liberty and has duty, so today is a "no go" for going into labor. I'm going to praise my body all day today with slightly condescending statements like:
"Woo hoo, no signs of labor!" "Great job not contracting, uterus!"

Cleaning in preparation for the in laws to arrive. This kid better hold off until next week, I've had no time to relax since finishing work on Friday. I booked my ultrasound for later in the week next week, just in case they tell me I need to be induced again. Dryer guy is coming this afternoon, I hope it's a quick and cheap fix. I'm running out of clothes.

cythe I hope the reverse psychology pep talk to your body works! I'm a big fan of the reverse psychology strategy in general. We used it to get DS to eat panang chicken curry tonight (oh...I don't think DS wants this curry...it's too spicy for him...) P.S. - I am not an evil parent - the panang wasn't spicy at all. Just very flavorful and delicious! DS loved it once he actually tried a few bites.

I mean, one of my favorite (american) Chinese food dishes is chicken fried rice for crying out loud.

Whelp - another day here just waiting for the baby to show. I mentioned this in the symptoms thread, but I am now hoping baby stays inside for another week. Just so I can get last minute projects done at work, and so we can get the next round of TB testing finished before I have a newborn on my hands. I have my weekly MFM appointment tomorrow, so fingers crossed I'm not like super dilated and contracting all over the place!
Also - we made these crispy oatmeal butter sugar cookies this weekend. Figured I'd share the recipe for anyone looking to do some baking while waiting for baby arrival or being stuck at home with a newborn! They are sooooo easy to make and they are really tasty - if you time them right in the oven (taking them out just at the first sign that they are browning on the edges/de-puffing in the middle), they are crispy on the edges and slightly chewy in the middle. Luuuuuuv them:
Ingredients: 1 c. Butter (I use salted, but you can use unsalted if you like less salty taste) 1 c sugar 1 c flour 1 tsp baking soda 2 c quick oatmeal
Directions: Preheat oven to 350 F. Mix butter and sugar together. Add flour, baking soda, and oatmeal. Once fully mixed, make walnut sized balls of the dough and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Dip bottom of a glass in water, and then dip the glass bottom in sugar. Use sugar coated glass bottom to stamp the cookie balls flat on the sheet, which will give the tops of the cookies a sugary crust. Optional - can sprinkle cinnamon on the balls before stamping as well (if you like cinnamon flavor). Bake for 10-13 minutes, watching closely to take out the cookies once they start to brown at the edges.

I've had fairly decent sleep the last two nights. I'm about to put a dollar jar on my desk that everyone has to pay into if they comment on my still being here or asking when the baby is coming.

Just waiting on this make believe cold front to come in. Forecasters keep talking about it but my forecast shows 88+ for the foreseeable future.
I'm looking for all the upcoming Halloween activities in the area so H can take DS while I plan to hang out alone with a newborn. They both love Halloween way more than I do.

I had a horrible night last night. DS slept so well, but I was awake all night for no apparent reason. When I finally fell asleep at close to 6am, I woke up at 8:45 to my dad checking my forehead because he said I didn't look well. DS started stirring, so I went to get him up to feed him and dad took him and told me to go back to bed, so I slept until about 11:30am.
We are supposed to go see Victoria and Abdul this evening, but I think I may pass. I'd probably just fall asleep during the movie anyway.

Taitai We do the reverse thing with DD and food too. Works most of the time. FX for a good appointment tomorrow! mkrupar It may be worth it to go to the movie for the uninterrupted sleep. After DD was born I fell asleep through the first few movies we saw in the theatres, best sleep I had since I was BF and bedsharing at the time. I'm chilling in DD's room while the floors in my master dry. It's such a nice day I have the windows open and one of my neighbors has some good tunes cranked. I'm enjoying the peace while I can.

DD has PT this morning and her therapist says he can already see improvement in her walking. She walks pigeon toed and we’ve been going twice a week for 3 weeks (I think?) now. Came home and made some egg, bacon, & cheese stuffed biscuits for the freezer (and when I’m too tired to make breakfast).
I’ve had a couple contractions the past few days but nothing timeable. Growth ultrasound tomorrow so we’ll see how big he’s gotten since my a/s... and it’s the first appointment that H will be able to go to. Kinda funny that he’ll be meeting my OB for the first time at my 36w appt

I woke up at 6am to my lip throbbing. We have a huge mosquito problem and one bit me on my lip. I iced it down and went back to sleep for another 45 minutes. My lip was gigantic. It went down by the time I got to work so it wasn't noticeable.
Anyone with Rite Aid near them and signed up for plenti points? There's an amazing huggies diaper deal starting on Sunday. I'll post the breakdown if anyone is interested. I also did a huggies deal at ShopRite yesterday as well.

My one friend is due with her 2nd in January. We have all the same friends I just got an invite for her sprinkle thrown by what i thought was one of my close friends and im sitting over here like WTF? HI! I'm really upset and hurt over it. It felt like a gut punch. Not because I don't get a party, but because no one cared enough to WANT to do something for me. I'm not at fault, I've been a bit reclusive this pregnancy, mainly bc of sheer exhaustion and pain, but I've tried to stay in contact weekly with friends through gchat and texts and whatnot. Last year, my bff moved to Boston and I know she would have done something for me. Our families didn't even think to. I think that's another reason why I've been feeling all Eeyore-ish this pregnancy (besides the obvious 3rd tri hormone surge). It feels like no one cares and it's a really shitty feeling.

We are home. And I am exhausted. I miss my DS though, he is at MILs because he has a fever and we'll have to keep him separated from me and the baby when he's at home. I haven't seen him for 3 days I miss him so much. The doctors said keep him away for 1-2 days after his fever breaks. Hopefully that happens soon.

rachydc, not exactly the same thing, but my group of friends has a tradition where we buy a baby name blanket for first time mom's from this seller we found in Etsy. She had been taking a bit of a break, but my one friend alerted me that her shop was reopened, and I jumped at the chance to order a blanket for DS. When I was telling my friend I got the order in, she said "I can't wait to see so-and-so's blanket," referring to another friend of ours who was also expecting #2 a week before my due date. I responded "oh did she order one?" And she told me she had reached out to the seller over the summer and called in a favor, which leads me to believe she ordered our other friend a blanket, but didn't order me one. It's silly, but it hurts when friends seem more excited for one pregnancy over another.

rachydc and @mkupar I’m sorry that your friends haven’t shown any excitement about your pregnancies and also did something/anything to make you feel special.... not sure if it’s hormones but I’m on the verge of tears thinking about you guys and what’s happened. I didn’t want a sprinkle/diaper shower and am doing a smell & see next month (combining it with a Party Lite candle party so sequel and I aren’t the center of attention) but that was mainly for my family because they assumed I would have a diaper shower.

I’m just a grumpy ass all around. Work thought it was a grand idea to load me up with projects all of a sudden. I’m trying to hustle to get everything I can wrapped up by next week but I’m annoyed they aren’t trying to keep my load less as I approach my due date.
And if MH complains one more freaking time about his phone service at work I’m going to kick him out. It is all I’ve heard about since Sunday and I’m done. Do not care and it isn’t a big deal. It probably wouldn’t annoy me so much if he took the time to ask me how I am doing, how he can help me with DS, check in on him after our ER visit, etc. but nooooo all about him.
And I feel like my body is prepping for labor. Holy lightening, nausea and clearing out (tmi). I thought I would go past my due date but now I’m not so sure.

mkrupar I’m really sorry that you had to deal with the hurt as well. I’m glad you ended up getting one for yourself. We gotta treat ourselves sometimes, right? I've been just really sad about it all day. Thanks for the hugs guys, it means a lot xo

I accomplished all my errands and even got my hair cut today. Which really pleases me because I'm sure it will be months before I do it again.

That sounds really crappy rachydc and mkrupar. Hugs. bootsorhearts1 Sorry to hear about your DS' fever. I know I would miss my little guy a lot too in that situation. caitost21 Bummer about your work piling projects on you. I am having the same thing happen this week, and I'm like....thanks for bringing this stuff up at the very last friggin' minute! Hopefully you can get everything done and then nobody will bother you once baby arrives. cythe Yay for a haircut? Any dramatic change???

Nothing wrong with that. I love going to the salon for a haircut and shampoo massage. Maybe I'll try to sneak one in this weekend. Haircuts here are SO CHEAP - like $10 for a really nice one with a scalp massage and blow out and everything.

rachydc mkrupar I can see why you would be upset, it sucks when stuff like that happens. bootsorhearts1 FX you sons fever breaks soon and you can see him! Upstairs of my house is super clean and ready for IL's arrival tomorrow. Now I just have to work on the downstairs, which is already half decent. IL's will be out of town on the weekend but it's weird to think that it's one of the last times just the 3 of us will be under the same roof.

I need to go catch up. Life is pretty crazy with a newborn and a toddler but I'm loving every second. H goes back tomorrow and neither of us are looking forward to it. The hardest part of maternity/paternity leave is getting back to the "real world" afterward.
^^Just realized I typed all of this out earlier and didn't hit post.
