Welcome to the PgAL and PAIF check-in!
This is a weekly check-in for those of us who are pregnant after loss and/or infertility. Feel free to jump in any time! The check-in is a safe place to share all things that come with being PgAL and/or PAIF. Use this thread to ask questions, share your excitement/rage/worries/whatever, or to ask for support!
Please come on in and let us know how you're doing, and know you are always welcome to come back throughout the week whenever you need to!! ♥
*~*~*~*~*
Weekly check-in: How far along are you? How are you feeling (physically/emotionally)? Any appointments or milestones coming up this week? Do you need any thoughts or prayers? Anything else you'd like to share? PS. I've posted the check-in over at TCF as well, since I wasn't sure whether we've decided whether to move to APTM yes/no. As long as I'm not 100% sure we all moved, I'll continue to straddle all the places cause I really don't want anyone to get lost, left behind or feel lonely. Just sayin'

Thanks for posting this muscari. I was sad when the activity on the other board died down before this one started up. How far along are you? 27 w 3 d How are you feeling (physically/emotionally)? Physically really sore hips and also waking up frequently to pee. Emotionally, pretty good. I've had stronger movement recently, which always reassures me. However, virtually all my movement is still very low, several inches below my belly button. Does anyone else have this? It makes me feel like he's too low and may fall out although I know that's silly. Any appointments or milestones coming up this week? Next appt June 8 Do you need any thoughts or prayers? No Anything else you'd like to share. This is weird and I feel dumb even mentioning it, but I've had this weird symptom over the past few days and it's making me nervous. On my right side, pubic bone level, I get a vibrating that lasts a few seconds. It's sort of like there's a cellphone there but weaker. It's definitely not hiccups bc I've felt those too. I'll mention to my Dr at next appt, but I had it with DS1 also, although not as much. From extensive Dr googling, I think baby boy is sitting on a nerve or kicking a nerve or I have a pinched nerve. Does anyone else have this?

How far along are you? 27W 6D, I can't believe how far along I am!
How are you feeling (physically/emotionally)? Physically pretty good! My hips are still sore, and I certainly feel more stretched like everything is very full in there. I think Baby is packing on some weight. Emotionally I think I'm starting to freak out a little about having a take home baby....
Any appointments or milestones coming up this week? Glucose test tomorrow. I really REALLY hope I pass!
Do you need any thoughts or prayers? Prayers for the Glucose test?
Anything else you'd like to share? Feeling the baby kick has to be the best thing ever. It still kind of tickles up in my rib cage, and along my side, but I am starting to get some stronger sharper jabs. Also I haven't really had any cravings this whole time, but about an hour ago I started wanting chocolate so bad! So I just made myself 1/2 a dozen cookies and I'm sitting here eating them and drinking chocolate milk. LOL This isn't going to help my glucose test.

Well darn. I failed. My hospital cuts the glucose test off at 130 and I was at 143. Guess that means I have to do the 3 hour one.

Ugh. I wrote it all out and then this website deleted my reply! 😭 Sorry for the late response this week! Been so busy moving but it's done! Minus the unpacking 😭 How far along are you? 28+5 -- canNOT believe I've made it to third tri!!! How are you feeling (physically/emotionally)? Physically - heartburn. Cankles. Braxton hicks. Shitty sleep. 👎🏼 Emotionally - feeling him kick reassures me. BH make me nervous when I have 3+ close together and then I start spiraling on PTL and then I move onto "you think everything is fine but then you delivery a baby that has some rare syndrome / is not healthy and the u/s didn't show anything and life is hard and sad." Any appointments or milestones coming up this week? Had my glucose test yesterday. Hoping I pass because I cannot give up my sweet tooth Do you need any thoughts or prayers? No im good- send them to Bug's babies. 💛 Anything else you'd like to share? We're homeowners! We own a home. 😱 Read more: aplacetomeet.freeforums.net/thread/707/pgal-paif-check-week-28#ixzz4ik5WQmaB

thinkchocolate05 – so, I have a suspected hip labral tear. I can relate re: hip pain. Have you looked into a pregnancy support belt? It adds an extra layer (for lack of a better word) of support, and I’ve noticed it helps. elliecat17 – girl, I’m so sorry you have to do the 3hr. addymac – FX you passed! And congrats on your new home!!

How far along are you?- 28+1 How are you feeling (physically/emotionally)?- Physically, it's starting to catch up to me. I'm just tired and sore. Emotionally, I'm kind of drained. I really need my partner back, and we still have awhile to go. Just need the toddler to take it easier on me, but LOLOL to that. Any appointments or milestones coming up this week?- I saw the MFM on Tuesday, and baby girl was looking good! Next appt is with OB next week. Do you need any thoughts or prayers?- Nope. I'll jump on addymac 's bandwagon and send mine to Bug & the baby bugs.

How far along are you? 28w1d
How are you feeling (physically/emotionally)? Pretty good right now. I've been sleeping better now that my pregnancy pillow helped my hip pain. Emotionally I still have good days and bad, but I think that's just how it is.
Any appointments or milestones coming up this week? Had a growth ultrasound and gtt test this morning. Baby girl looks great. She is measuring 28w3d and she is 2 lbs 13 oz already! She is also head down ATM, so let's hope she stays that way. And I really hope I passed the gtt.
Do you need any thoughts or prayers?
No, send mine to bug and her babes too!
Anything else you'd like to share?
Are you guys taking any classes at your hospital (or did you take them with your first babies? My OB recommended I take all the classes (childbirth, breastfeeding, infant CPR, and infant care) but they're like $100 each and that seems crazy expensive and I just don't know if they're really necessary/helpful. Thoughts?
Also, am I the only one who still doesn't have a name picked out?! I'm starting to freak out about that. I just can't find one I love!

cali That seems expensive to me for classes. I don't know how many local hospitals you have, but maybe you could see if another nearby hospital has any at a lower price. You might want to take the birth class at your own hospital, though, in case they have any specific policies and sometimes they combine with a tour. For DS1, we took a 4 session birth class ($100), breastfeeding class ($40), carseat class (free?), and newborn care class ($40?). We had previously done an infant CPR/choking class which we did free through a local fire station. Of those, I would say the birth class was the best bc it eased my mind about the various stages of labor, when the hospital might intervene, etc etc--made me feel a little less clueless and scared. It also included a hospital tour. Newborn care class wasn't that helpful--mostly taught me not to buy the apple sauce labeled baby applesauce bc it's the same as the other one and costs 3x more. I had a bad experience with the breastfeeding class, but I think it was just my instructor, and think it would generally be a great class to take if breastfeeding. She just made some comments about how if it hurts, you're doing it wrong; everyone has enough supply to feed their baby, etc., which made me feel terrible about myself when we had problems later on. I definitely recommend the choking/CPR class, and I think those are usually free.

cali, that pricing seems high. We paid $200 for a 3 pack - breastfeeding, infant care, and child birth. I honestly learned a lot from each class, but if I could go back and pick one to skip, it'd most likely be the infant care class. They taught things like swaddling, trying out different brands of products because some just won't work with your baby, etc. I've learned a lot more valuable information from different fb mom groups because they've been there/done that. The breastfeeding class was awesome and the one I enjoyed the most. I had a great instructor and she did a great job preparing me for different things that could come up. But, even with that said, DD never latched and I ended up exclusively pumping. Looking back, I wish I would have hired a lactation consultant to come help me. I almost did, but I was so tired and overwhelmed that I never moved forward with it. The child birth class was also very informative, but it was definitely geared towards a non medicated birth. I had an epidural right away and ended up having a c section. If I had labored naturally, there were a lot of techniques they talked about that I could have used.

I'm so far behind on check ins! How far along are you? 28+3 How are you feeling (physically/emotionally)? Emotionally I'm fine. Physically my feet have been swollen so I wear tennis shoes all the time. I've also been having some sciatica and hip pain, especially at night so my sleep has been pure crap. Any appointments or milestones coming up this week? A personal milestone is yesterday was my last day of work for 5 or 6 months! We have 11 weeks off for summer and my due date is my first day of school so I'm hoping I don't have to go back until november :-) I have an appointment on Thursday with a new midwife since my OB retired. I decided to go with a midwife since they are the ones on call at the hospital anyhow. I'm a little nervous and hope we like her. I'm also supposed to do my glucose test but they couldn't tell me for sure which I don't quite understand. Do you need any thoughts or prayers? Nope Anything else you'd like to share? I just want to get the nursery started. DH actually threw away the mattress from the baby's room so that's a big start. We need to move one dresser into our bedroom and then paint the nursery. Then we'll just need to build the crib. My goal is still end of June since we'll have had both of our showers by then and we'll know what we need. cali, My birthing class is 3 days (2 hours each) and is $60. My breastfeeding class is a 1 day class and is $15. It's actually cheaper at the hospital here in town but I wanted to take them at the hospital where I'm giving birth.

cali - not sure what hospital you are delivering at, but (I assume not U of C bc you're up north) but I took classes there bc that's where I'm delivering and they're all free. I can PM you the link to their schedule and info- you don't have to register with a Drs name so i bet you can do them there and not have to pay even though you're not delivering there. There is one intense all day Lamaze class that costs $ but I think it's not too bad (30-60$) I think. Let me know!
