Wishing you the best of luck today duskymonkey! I'm excited that it's finally October. We don't really have any seasons here...just hot and humid or hot and REALLY humid and rainy...but I still am happy that we've arrived to the month of October finally. Our building put up a bunch of Halloween decorations, which has been fun for DS to look at. He looooooooves pumpkins and spooky skeletons. I can't wait to see him all dressed up in his doctor costume later this month 😊 The expat grocery stores also get into the fall spirit and put out local pumpkins and gourds/squash. They're all either white or pale yellow, or green though, and they are small. If you want an orange, average sized pumpkin...well that's going to cost you $100+. Hard pass. I'm going to have DH pick up some cute white ones tomorrow, and then we'll carve them in a few weeks. DS doesn't know the difference 😅😁.

Super long thought ramblings....
Reaching milestones is an emotional experience lately. I went and visited someone at the hospital on Friday. Walking the halls past nicu and going down the halls to the mother baby rooms and then to the room directly beside my room...it was a weird emotional feeling. I walked those halls back and forth from nicu. I rode in a wheelchair down those halls because I was too sick to be allowed to walk that super far distance.
Today is 37 weeks. Our goal. We never got near it. I really expected to make it to 37wks. Yet, here I am holding my little squish who has been here for 18 days. 11 in nicu and 7 here at home with us. He's doing great. I'm doing great. I'm just feeling emotional about it all.

And you could have him paint them instead of carving. It would be cute and something he could do.

ssm hugs to you. I know other moms that delivered early and had 37 week goals for their subsequent pregnancies that took it really hard if they didn't meet it. Your feelings are understandable and you aren't alone with them. So glad your little guy is home with you!

ssm I think that is a very natural way to feel. You are really doing amazing, especially after what you went through with your complications. I've definitely been impressed by your strength and attitude. Big hugs.

Waking up to the Las Vegas news today - awful. WTF is wrong with the world. I'm really sad. Same. The news broke here mid-day and it just makes me want to puke. I've already vented in the thread they have going on the current events board.

I'm heartbroken to wake up to the news of Vegas this morning. I won't dwell on it and bring the thread down but shit. It sucks.
After a very hormonal day yesterday, I woke up feeling much better this morning. All four of us are going to go outside and play in a bit and then we have the baby's newborn pictures this afternoon. Also, today is my actual due date! So glad I got to meet my sweet boy nearly a week early!

I had the contractions again last night. It looks like I'm in for prodomal labor again. I just hope my body limits it to 2 weeks again. I hate that it is making the end of my pregnancy and trying to focus on and spend time with DS so hard.

After 14 hours of timable contractions yesterday (and zero sleep) last night we headed to L&D this morning. I'm not making a ton of progress (was only 3 cm when I came in and 3.5 maybe after two hours of laboring here!) so they may not keep me but they did give me something to help me sleep and are going to make the decision to admit or release around noon. Contractions have spaced out to almost 10 minutes apart and are much more bearable now so I was able to sleep a bit but I don't want to go home only to go through this again possibly other times! I barely labored for 10 hours with DD so this is a much different experience for me.

October sucks. My company started layoffs today and I just found out my work BFF got let go. She left the rest of the day to day drink with her mom and I wish I could go with her.

Thinking of you today duskymonkey! Sorry about the prodomal labor @tnt, and I hope your body either kicks into gear or gives you rest until the real deal danvers. We had our best night last night so I'm feeling a little more human today. Had projectile poop MOTN, but it's nice to see the transition from meconium poo to breast milk poo. I feel like a FTM changing these tiny diapers on an uncooperating newborn. Then I go to change DS1's diaper and he seems like a giant compared to DS2. I'm also struggling with balancing time with both boys and keeping things consistent but granting extra patience to DS1 during this adjustment period. That is the hardest part, hands down.

Good luck today duskymonkey and danvers if this is the day! My squish was admitted to the hospital last night for a low temp. We think she just got chilly but of course they have to rule out infections so we're stuck here for a couple of days waiting on cultures. She is having trouble keeping her temperature up, probably just because she was born early. The same thing happened with DS and that got us 3 weeks in the NICU. She is at the children's hospital which is nicer because we have a private room and I can feed her on my/her schedule. Her pediatrician is following her results and is pretty confident it's just a temperature regulation issue and it won't take more than a few days to resolve. I hate it, I want my family all back home together. I am staying at the hospital with her and DH is staying with DS at home. FIL asked how we decided that, DH was like ummm we didn't decide that, her body makes the food and mine doesn't? Lol

duskymonkey Good luck today! danvers Good luck, hopefully your body decides what to do sooner than later. Get some rest! curmudgeon Layoffs suck, H lost his job last year and his current company is going through a downturn. bootsorhearts1 Sending you hugs, hopefully you can go home soon and that your DD can regulate things soon. Sending good thoughts to all the new moms, whether your are struggling or having a good day.

I cannot believe it is October. Holy shit!
I had my 38 week appointment this morning at 38+3. I'm about a 1 cm dilated (not surprised...), I've gained zero weight in the last two weeks (a big FU to the last OB I saw), and I got to see my favorite OB today. <3
But... my blood pressure is weird and I have a YI... under my boobs. 😒
For my blood pressure, the top number was 120 but my bottom number hit 90. Is it weird to have one be normal and one high? I've been taking my blood pressure at home for a while now and have had the same results, and she rechecked it 3 times, so it's not a bad reading.

I’ll need to catch up here during nap time. We were in the ER last for DS. Ear infection and enema for bad constipation. I’ve never seen him scream cry like that pooping and when he was done, he gave everyone in the room a hug. He was so grateful to poop but needless to say, we are exhausted and I took the day off to monitor for poop. Oh the joys of parenthood, right?!

caitost21 and bootsorhearts1 so sorry for your little ones at the hospital! Sounds like everything is under control on both fronts but still, that must be very hard.

Layoffs do suck. I think the only thing saving me is I have a dual role. One of my entire teams is basically gone now. And last week H's company did layoffs and somehow he came out with a promotion. I just feel icky. My boss called me crying (I work from home) and said they didn't even tell her about layoffs until late Friday. So she had to sit all weekend knowing she had to fire 30+ people Monday morning.

Does it go higher? Or is it staying around 90? Higher than 120?

The top number has gotten to 140 but I monitored it after that and it went back down. I didn't get consecutive reads that high.
