DH kept not telling me his schedule for the rest of the month and now I can't get in for an ultrasound till sometime in February. Ugh. So much impatience over here. Wait - February??

Lol no clementine NOVEMBER. What is wrong with my phone Haha thank god! Sorry you even have to wait til November though. Husbands. I mean, there's something blocking him from signing into his schedule from home, and there's only one computer on his door that prints after some virus they had. BUT IT'S NOT THAT HARD TO CALL me from work and tell me.

Leaf 🌱 I can’t even describe my face atm... I can’t wait to schedule my ultrasound. I really need to figure out which clinic I’m planning on sticking with and commit to the doctor and hospital.

Rama Leaf 🌱 I did end up calling my OB, thinking they would tell me NBD. But they sent me to the ER to get checked. (spoiler, baby is fine) I was there for 5.5 hours last night ![:-S](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wavey.png) It took 4.5 hours to even get in front of an ultrasound tech. They had no idea what to do with me. The nurses checked my urine for HCG---I mean, cmon. WTF was that going to prove? It was infuriating. They couldn't find the heartbeat with the doppler. I was having a full blown panic attack by the time we got to the ultrasound and the tech took measurements for maybe ten minutes before telling me the baby had a heartbeat. It was....not a good night. I don't think I'll be doing that again if I can help it. I'm exhausted today. Didn't get to bed until midnight.

Oh my god calendula that sounds awful. I absolutely hate going to the ER when I'm pregnant because none of them know what to do with you. I'm so sorry you had that experience, but glad babe is perfectly fine.

calendula that sounds terrible! ER visits are no fun to begin with. I felt the same way when I had to go in early on in my pregnancy. Sorry you had to go through that, but I’m glad to hear everything is fine with baby!

calendula Oh my gosh, that sounds awful. I'm so sorry! ERs seem like such a toss-up when it comes to their handling of pregnant women. I feel like once they knew how far along you were, they should have fast-tracked you to an ultrasound tech and not messed around with your anxiety by trying to use the doppler. I'm glad all is well!

They just didn't know what they were doing. We waited for a few hours for the doctor to finally come in, and then he stands there and tried to explain to me what HCG was. Mind you, I've been in the IF and MC world for nearly 4 years now. Like, I know what HCG is, and I'll one up you by telling its absolutely irrelevant right now. It starts declining after 12 weeks. Why are you testing my HCG? DH says he was impressed I didn't punch him, lol.

calendula, that sounds awful. I'm glad the baby is doing well though! We got back this morning from vacation. I didn't sleep on the plane at all though so I'm exhausted. I was so glad to get home to our daughter.

When I went into the ER for bleeding several weeks ago, I basically beat the doctor to the punch at everything. He kept layman's terming everything, so I'd whip out the subchorionic hematoma to his SCH and beta/human gonadotropin hormone to his "pregnancy hormones". I basically relayed everything to MrRama because the doc was trying so hard to dumb everything down, poor H kept getting confused. I also basically told H that the beta was wholly unnecessary and would tell us nothing, but massive shrug. They have their protocols, even if they make no sense.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the good thoughts. Also the anecdotes. I hate that some of you have been through it before but it is so nice to be able to commiserate. Also check out the sweet hack job the nurse did inserting an IV: ![](https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171011/a23dd0be0173ee62da84874190ef66d2.jpg)

Rama, not really! I knew when she inserted it that it was a mess. She couldn't draw any blood from it and she's like "oh that's odd". LOL. Anyway I'm done complaining now. Sorry to hijack with my whining! It was just so unpleasant and now I want a week do-over! Also yay me that I figured out how to post pics. Maybe my gut can make an appearance in the HDBD finally ![B-|](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/notamused.png)

I just got done with my 16w appointment. It was taking the midwife a while to find the heartbeat with the doppler and I could tell she was trying to distract me so I wouldn't panic. Luckily she did find it. I have an anterior placenta this time and it's crazy how much of a difference it makes.
Next appointment is the anatomy scan!

My husband has melted my heart for the day. He's so excited for this to finally happen, his positivity for this whole thing has really pulled me through some hard days. He's going to be an amazing dad.
Him: Man, I like the idea of this baby a lot... I think there is much happiness in store. Me: I hope you're right. It would be really cool to have it work out this time, huh? Him: It really would. I wanna meet our new family member and start makin memories with them.

So I found a place here that I can go do an elective ultrasound on Saturday to find out the sex. The cost ($50) was a lot lower than I thought but I can't decide if I want to do it or just wait. I'll be 16 weeks 3 days so I know it may not be accurate. But November 9th seems so far away.

The place I went to said that they garauntee the results after 14w. I went at 14w2d and she knew immediately and seemed certain. I guess I could still find out she was wrong, but hopefully not!

We found out at 15-16 weeks with DS and it was super obvious. Most places also say if they can't determine the sex, they'll have you come back to try again for free. It sounds like it has more to do with baby being in the right position and giving them a good shot. Also, check on Groupon and Yelp for coupons and discounts. There were several local-to-me boutiques on Groupon and we got a package for $30 that was $60 on the website. Just an idea!

November 9th will come sooner than you think if you do end up waiting.

My perinatalist will do a 3d ultrasound later but I can't take DD into the office with me so I was already thinking about doing an elective 3d ultrasound when I'm farther along and take DD with me. You're right though that time will fly by so I'll save my money for the 3d one. I'm just super impatient. Lol.

M (22 months old) has stopped nursing. So I bought myself two new non-nursing bras to get me though the next five months. They arrived this evening and each one makes me feel like a goddess. Boooooobs.
