misskilljoy- the hospital I’ll be delivering at is 23 miles away and it takes an hour in light traffic to get there. The other hospital is about 50 miles away and right now with light traffic for the first half and medium traffic for the 2nd half it’s over 2 hours to get there. The hospital is in Los Angeles and I’d have to deal with the potential of very congested freeways... on a bad day, it can take well over 3 hours to get there... I just don’t feel comfortable with that. Your in LA and there's no other close hospitals? That's crazy! There's three in like four block radius here in my small city.

Does your insurance cover ambulances...? That's get you there fast enough...

That's get you there fast enough... Unless you live in my city, where we go hours at a time with no ambulances available because our health care sometimes sucks. They won't even respond to non-life-threatening situations when that happens. They will call in backup from neighbouring counties for life-threatening emergencies. It is NUTS. They would basically laugh me off the phone if I said 'in labour' and tell me to call a cab. Woo, socialized health care!

There are 3 close to me- the one I’m delivering at (20ish miles away), another that is in the top 10% for in house infections, and the other is a catholic hospital that won’t do tubal ligation. So when we moved I based my search on the hospital I wanted to deliver at. We have Cigna HMO and that seems to have been the biggest obstacle... this office is the only office that would take me. No one likes my insurance apparently and we can’t change it until my husband’s open enrollment in April. I spent over 20 hours on the phone with Cigna and/or online trying to find a doctor... even the ones that were listed as accepting the insurance said no when I called. The hospital allows VBACs- it’s the OB that doesn’t.

That's how I ended up with a POS oral surgeon when I had my wisdom teeth out a few years back. Took three months for me to regain all the feeling in my face. American insurance is so awful sometimes.

I'm an oddball and don't care for turkey at all. 🙈🙈 or anything that goes with it. Lol. Unless someone makes an apple crisp. Then I'm happy. So this is why I'm happy to only have one thanksgiving supper tomorrow evening. My parents go to the lake (2 hours away) every year and close it down and I'm not driving there this year. We will do something another weekend I'm sure. I'm not worried. Usually we do pizza nights which is right up my alley.

mrspiatt I am very curious as to which hospitals you are referring to. I think you are relatively close to me, although I know you just moved (north, I assume?)

There was Thanksgiving talk here (I think misskilljoy mentioned her OB being closed Monday) and on my A15 board Wednesday... so I went to Vons and bought a couple turkey breast tenderloins and cooked those, 35 minutes and they were delicious, we also had cornbread stuffing, mashed potatoes and cranberries... I'm totally doing this some time next week. I make this cranberry bread pudding that is unhealthy and delicious and I need it. My family calls it "cranberry stuff."

Good morning!
H took the older boys on the last boat fishing trip of the season this morning. Ds3 and I are cuddling watching MMCH. Later today we're going to a Halloween festival. It's supposed to be so hot out today so celebrating Halloween in this weather just doesn't seem right.
I hope everyone is feeling better!

I hope everyone has a better day today!
We woke up to rain, ruined our plans for a walk. Hope it doesn't rain again tomorrow. Organised a load of things (believe or not I still have things to do lol) and after nap time I'm cleaning this house.
H's job is to hoover upstairs and do the kitchen. I've got a list of things that I want doing, H is moaning about it already. Basically just a deep clean of this house, since in 2/3 weeks DD will be here.
Had such a crappy night sleep. Heart burn woke me up and kept me awake, each time I would lie down it would come back. So I propped pillows up so my head was at an angle.
Nap time 😴

Morning! MIL flies in this afternoon. I need to finish cleaning upstairs and I want to make some apple butter in the Crock-Pot. Working on cleaning all our bedding today and hopefully will do the cloth diapers tomorrow. If not we will just use disposables until it gets done.
I really wanted to squeeze in some family fun activities this weekend too like apple picking and getting our pumpkins but I'm not going to stress about it if we don't have time.

Morning! We have a jam packed weekend so that's going to be awesome. 🙄🙄 I said I'm only doing as much as I feel up To doing and that's that. My SIL flew home with her fiancé and his kids for thanksgiving sonny MIL plans every waking moment. I'm too pregnant to do half the stuff they want to do. Sorry, not sorry.

Morning everyone! DS2 was sick Thursday and Friday - threw up in bed, hot and just seemed like he felt icky with far less energy, patience, and just saddened by everything. It is an hour and a half past time he normally gets up and he is still sleeping. Then last night, DS3 came home from IL’s and felt the same kind of hot and was cranky like day 1 with DS2, he refused Tylenol. He woke up around 2am and was HOT. I took his temp and it was 102.78 *F auxiliary (because I could only find my BBT thermometer and I wasn’t sticking it in his butt). He is still a super hot box snuggling me in bed while H snores just out of my reach. Bathtime is on the agenda once he wakes up. DS1 has been up for over 1.5 hours alone watching whatever he wants on tv and sounds like he is enjoying his time. I have so much cleaning and prep to do and it seems nothing goes right on the weekends H isn’t working. I think I’m going to go to the gas station and get a hot chocolate/flavored coffee and swing by the pharmacy for some more Tylenol. librarylady how do you make apple butter? I need to make some with the apples I have from the orchard, because YUM and it isn’t cleaning. beefinch today is day 3 of rain. I’m over it. I wanted to go pick out pumpkins today. Maybe tomorrow. And DS2 just woke up with a dry, almost barking cough. Looks like snuggles are on the agenda for my weekend.

Last night I dreamed Ryan Gosling helped deliver the babies. After I told DH about it, I listed everything we needed to do this weekend to get ready. He asked if Ryan was on his way to help. I wish! 😂
I've been moving DS's clothes to his new dresser so we can use the old one for the girls. He's out grown so many of his cute little clothes!

Perfect! And I use an emersion blender, so even less to clean up after. I’ve only made peach butter before and there were a lot more ingredients, I’m excited about this!
