I would say yes. I would just start folding and make piles for each individual as I go.

I would also say yes. I typically fold my kids clothes into individual piles directly into a laundry basket that I then carry to their rooms to put away. I do sometimes sort into categories like towels/blankets, underwear/socks, shirts, pants, pajamas, etc. So I can do all of one thing that has similar motions at once.

Yes, because then you have to touch eat item twice rather than just once

Absolutely a waste of time. Just make a pile for each.

I say that choice goes to the lovely person who folds the laundry.
And folding the laundry goes up to whomever complains.

I don't understand what you mean about holding the screaming babies. But my condolences, Willy.

It is a waste of time to me. If another person is folding laundry, they can do it however they damn well please.

I sort before I fold, mostly because if I fold into piles either little hands will unfold them or I will leave the piles to put away later, which leads to them being unpiled, unfolded, on the floor and eventually back in the wash without being worn

But, if you are holding screaming babies while the other person takes twice as long to fold the laundry is it really a good use of your time? Noope, it is not. ETA there is too much shit to do when you have little kids to be dilly-dallying, wasting time. When your kids are big, sure, take twice as long to do basic tasks.

I sort as I fold. Except for SO's laundry. I just throw his in a pile because he doesn't like how I fold his shirts and will re-fold them anyway.

Nope. Hell, The Sageling's clothes aren't even folded, just stacked in her microscopic drawers.

Nope. Hell, The Sageling's clothes aren't even folded, just stacked in her microscopic drawers. I don't fold the kids clothes, I hang stuff that matters/shows wrinkles (hah), and the rest goes in drawers. I fold my stuff and, like, half my husband's.

I used to fold all of my laundry before we had an actual laundry room where it could sit. Now... not so much.
