Hey all,
Do you track feedings and diaper changes etc? How? How long will you track These?
I track on paper and on the feed baby app so DH and I can sync to each other . Sometimes it's a pain but I like knowing how often he sleeps and how much he eats. I don't want him to be exhausted or hungry but how long will you track for? 2 months 3 months 6 months? I'd like to stop prior to going to going back itnwork which would be 3 months but I worry about not tracking.
If you don't track do you worry about sleep and feedings?

I track feedings (at what time, how much he ate / how long he BF for) in my notes pad on my phone. I don't bother with diapers anymore bc he is doing well- like I keep a mental note. If I were to worry about his output then I'd start tracking them again religiously.

With DS I tracked until 3 months I think (just BFing sessions at that point). With P I stopped tracking altogether after her 1 month well check.

I can probably stop tracking wet diapers but poopy diapers I worry about because he will go 3 or 4 days then be miserabke. I feel like I need to track food since we combo feed. I also like tracking sleep just so I know and can see if there is any pattern to it

We track on paper - time and how much formula. We also put an X in the pee/poop column, if appropriate (there has always been a pee, but we track it just in case).
We will most likely track for a year or over like we did with T. H is home with the girls during the day when I go back, so we won’t have gaps from daycare.

I have never tracked anything. It honestly never crossed my mind. 😬
Not helpful, I know. Lol

I track feedings with an app (which side for breast and how many oz and whether breast milk or formula for bottles). I stopped tracking diapers a few weeks ago. Mine also goes 2 to 3 days between poops sometimes and is uncomfortable. If I tracked sleep I'd cry, lol.

It’s like, if they fuss after 1.5-2 hours we try everything else before we give more formula. But, without the time written I would forget when she ate last.

I tracked with DS1 via the feed baby pro app until his 1 year. I tracked feedings, growth, and diapers. It was helpful bc he was still having bm, formula, and food, so it was hard to keep track. Diapers were helpful to know if he ever got constipated. I didn't track sleep bc it would just be depressing.
When I went back to work I kept a chalkboard in the kitchen and had his nanny track time and amount of bottle feedings as well as pees and poops. I entered them all once I got home.
I plan to do the same for the twins.

I track pretty much errrrrything 🙃 BFing sessions (side, time and duration), diapers, pumping sessions (time duration and ml), bottles (time and ml), meds, walks, baths, temp... I am anal like that lol and I just like knowing. My memory is a mess still so this helps me keep tabs on things and it nice to be able to check back.
I think I will continue to track most things for quite a while .. at least the BF bottles and diaper thing. I use the Baby Daybook app and love it, works great for us. MH has it as well amd it syncs which os awesome.

I feel like I need to know how he is doing. I track sleep too to see if there are any patterns and to see how much he sleeps for. I also track baths, walks, play time, etc. But sometimes I feel bad because I'm so busy tracking Things I'm not interacting with him.

When I first started using the app MH got upset with me a cple of times cause I kept grabbing my phone whenever I was BFing etc. I had to explain to him why I was tracking everything and it took a little persuasion for him to install the app as well but now he istotally behind it and actually likes to check the app on occasion even when he is at work or such. The way the app is set up and has the option to add quick buttons/timer to your homescreen makes tracking rather quick and easy too. But yeah sometimesI too feel i should interact more. Ahhhh.

I should also say that I stopped at 3mo with DS mainly because that's when he started daycare and they tracked everything. I stopped with P early because lazy, lol.

@easilyunamused, thank you for making me feel better.
I track nothing. I tried at the beginning but kept forgetting and she honestly BFs nonstop some days and I didn't even know how to log that. She has multiple pee and poop diapers every day so I kind of just use that to know things are going ok. I kind of feel like a slacker after reading this thread though. You all are really on top of things.

Our pediatrician always asks the avg amount of breastmilk they're getting, how many bottles per day, number of wet and poo diapers, and their longest sleep stretch. I would never be able to remember that on my own.

I am OCD about lists and what not so tracking anally right uo my alley 😜 Part of me is envious of those who don't feel the need to track everything and I often wish I could go with the flow and be less anxious about keeping tabs.

Ditto. DOn't feel like a slacker about it. If I wasn't BF and FF I might not care so much but I'm trying to see if J is eating more formula, how his days compare, if he's getting enough food, etc. Since he didn't gain weight between week 1 and week 2 I've been really anal about tracking his food. I'm not so worried about his diapers although he's had some pooping issues twice but pee is never an issue. Sleep is something I like to track because it helps me see how much sleep I'm getting, I like to see if there are patterns, and then I know when he's super fussy and when things really haven't been that bad. It really helps me to look at it. I'm hoping we can stop tracking when we go back to work but then I worry DH will over or under feed unless he keeps up with tracking. I worry too much.

Like @easilyunamused and cali, I've tracked nothing whoops. I make a mental note of when she last ate but as mentioned before she poops all the time and plenty of wet diapers so weight gain is no concern.

I track sleep, diapers, feedings, pumping, activity, mood, and milestones. I also track medicine. I love the app I use, it gives me great resources to few how he is doing and to start realizing a pattern or schedule.
