We got to the hospital at 4am. IV with fluids is hooked up. Pitocin to start at 6am after a cervical check. I'm trying to get some rest until that time but who can rest with a baby on the way?!

Woo, good luck! Hope it goes well for you today!
I was gonna say 4am sounds painful, but I've been awake most of the night so...yeah. Time is different at the hospital.

Update: Pitocin is started and has been bumped up twice now. Nurse said body is responding good to it. I'm having contractions 5ish minutes apart but nothing too painful yet.

Waiting on my water to be broken. Someone tell me how uncomfortable this will be. And I'm assuming messy??

thatgirlrachel, when they broke my water with DS, I had an epi at the time. I wouldn't expect it to be painful though. They just stuck what looked like a long crochet hook up in there to pop it. By now you may have already had it done though!

arimaythea, I shuddered and crossed my legs reading your description of the process. I think this is a girl version of some guy telling another guy about how he got kicked in the nuts. thatgirlrachel, hopefully it is fast and easy!

By now you may have already had it done though! That's exactly what they did for me! They said they either use that or this finger condom thing with a prick on the end. But my midwife likes the crochet needle and it was painless (with the epi). Water came out and he immediately dropped off of my lungs. Best I've been able to breathe in months!!
