I'm back on a video game kick. I picked up the Kingdom Hearts 1.5/2.5 ReMix (or whatever it's called) set of KH games for the PS4 and I'm enjoying the trip down memory lane - KH was my gateway to video games as a kid (aside from the oldies like the Super Mario games). DH is making his way through Horizon Zero Dawn on the PS4 and the new Telltale Batman game on the XBox One, and I'm loving watching him play both.
What are you guys playing? All-time favorite games?

I love KH! I started a replay when I was pregnant with DD2 and ended up sick off my ass so I had to stop and haven't gotten back to it.

I'm still playing EverQuest 2, lol.
I still need to finish Oblivion (finished the 1st world then sort of petered out).
I tried to get 3.5yo DD into Flower, but it didn't work so well. I guess she will stick to the iPad a bit longer. She still loves watching DH play EQ2 though, particularly his beastlord. (FFMC: I already started her a free account to start earning veteran rewards, which I hope to give to her when she gets older :-P)

I just finished my like 15th playthrough of Mass Effect 3. H has been trying to get me to play Chrono Trigger, its was his favorite growing up. Im hesitating for some unknown reason. I worry I wont like it, has anyone else played it?
We also just discovered we have been paying for EA all access ever since ME:Andromeda came out, I forgot to cancel it but H has decided to keep it and so we have a ton of games available. H has been playing Battlefield 3 and Titanfall.
I am also trying to finish up my playthrough of Dragon Age Origins Awakening so I can start the next one.

mischief Chrono Trigger is pretty good. It's one of my H's favorite games to this day. If you enjoy JRPGs, this shouldn't be too boring for you. I'm currently extremely into Splatoon 2 for the most part. I play Overwatch with friends when I want to play something on the PC. MrRama just finished Yakuza Kiwami, so I'm also kind of missing that right now. I'm so.freaking.excited for Detroit: Become Human to come out. So excited I have considered streaming it. But I never finished the last game I streamed (FFXV), so I kinda feel like I have to finish that first. At the moment, I'm just more into the easy drop-in-drop-out multiplayer/coop games than getting tied into something more serious and engaging. I just don't have the attention span to deal.

mischief So Chrono Trigger is a great game. The games you listed seem much different in tone (?) is the only way I can think to put it. They seem faster paced and more action-y but I'm not really sure that's true. I remember some heart pounding boss battles and it probably only feels slower because it is older. But, like most RPGs, you really get out what you put in. There are lots of side games and a lot of detail put into things you might never notice. For example, in the beginning you go to a fair. The choices you make at the fair will be held against you later in the game. So DON'T STEAL THE HAM! (Honestly the end outcome is the same but I always liked to have everyone speak well of me) I think you will like it, it's got a lot of elements of games you love. It's just older.

Reviving this thread to say that DH and I have been playing Divinity 2 since it came out and we are loving it. It's such a great game. We played Divinity: Original Sin when it was out a few years ago and really enjoyed it, too. Challenging strategy game, great co-op, great writing.
My mindless zone-out meditation game has been Slime Rancher. It's super cute and a good way to kill a few hours.

I tried playing solo à few years ago and it just isn't the same.

Just played through Oblivion again. I think I may have a few more misc quests and then I’m going to try Skyrim again. I didn’t like it as much last time I tried to play it but hopefully I’ll like it better now.

He's the Elder Scrolls player in our house. justkeepmoving So the consensus was that if you wanted something that was similar to Oblivion, there isn't anything that's going to be as good quality. Most of the other games are kinda garbage. What is it about Oblivion that you liked? He said if he could pin down what you liked about Oblivion (RPG elements, open world, etc etc), he'd be able to suggest some games that might be what you're looking for.

Have you played The Witcher? It has the open world, RPG, and quest elements (no guilds, as far as I remember) and it's a good game. They improve in quality with each successive game, too; we think TW3 is the best in the series so far.

I used to play a lot of PC MMO and RPG games. It's been a while. I was into WoW (for the Horde!) for years, then played GW2, Path of Exile, The Secret World, Torchlight II, City of Heroes (shut down), Aion, Borderlands 2, Neverwinter, Vindictus, and Portal.
My eldest daughter loves MMOs and wants to play WoW together when we get another gaming computer. I also want a Steam machine.

justkeepmoving I love love love Kingdoms of Amalur. It’s PS3 so around the same time as Oblivion and it makes a lot of the underrated PS3 games lists. It has guilds and a huge open world and so many side quests. It is a really good game.
